Remarks

The negative part of our college is the infrastructure. Its very limited and is definitely one of the drawbacks. The positive of our college would be the exposure it provides to the students by giving various opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is pretty tough. It is up to date. We have two exams Internals and Externals. The weightage is 40% and 60% respectively. Externals are of 60 marks and consists of a written test. Internals are of 40 marks and consists of one written test of 20 marks and one integrated learning component for each subject.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placement cell of our college is very efficient. There are placements for Third Year students. The average packages is 6L. There are internship opportunities for first and second year students as well. The stipend is usually performance based.

College Events

3.5

We have a lot of events in our college. The first event of the year being Foundation Day in August, then Ethnic Day in September which also includes an inter batch dance competition. After this, in December the pre fest events of the college starts which include Talkies and Prom. In January the annual Fest is held.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible for a college like ours. The fee gradually increases as you go from First Year to Third Year. For us, the fee was 1.8L in the first year. The fee for the hostel is feasible as well as it includes food as well.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are scholarship opportunities given by the college. The one top scorer from each batch is eligible to get a scholarship of 20%. There are also scholarships for people who excel in sports. The criteria is National level certificates.

Campus Life

2.5

The extra curriculars activities of our college are excellent. We have sports fest and pre fest and various other tournaments conducted by the university itself. Other than this, there are a lot of cultural events and competitions.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel rooms are good but the mess food is not that great. The hostel facilities include WiFi, Cleaning maid, a common area with TV Fridge etc. The mess serves 4 meals - Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks and Dinner

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, our senior students were super helpful and helped us to settle in the city. They helped us with accommodations and notes for the subjects. As far as our alumni is concerned, they have been helping the college build connections in the corporate world.

Admission

The Admission process of our college is very smooth. First, we had to appear for an exam called 'Symbiosis Entrance Test', post which on basis of the marks scored, we get calls for a personal interview and writing ability test. The cumulative scores of all three is then counted and according to that, first second and third list of admission is issued.

Faculty

4

The faculty of our college is relatively young which makes it easier for us to approach them and clear our doubts. Another benefit of having young faculty is, lectures are more understandable. Overall the faculty of our college is highly qualified and friendly.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Biotechnology because it is a multidisciplinary field. We get to study not only topics related to biotechnology but also biochemistry, bio physics, bio informatics, bio statistics, etc. Mostly everything that is essential for future exams is taught during the span of 3 years. The topics of the units are taught in depth but the questions asked during exams are comparatively easy as to what all we studied. The frequency of the exam is, 1 internal exam which consists of both mcqs and written exam, the semester exam for each semester and practical exams for each subject. If u have studied then you will be able to attempt the questions.

Placement Experience:

My college gives campus placement placement opportunities typically after 4th semester, which is the 2nd half of the 2nd year. As my college has a partnership with IBM so the standards of campus placement go right up as the placement depends on the curriculum performance of the student so can't really say much for this. If saying as a stalemate, getting a placement is basically confirmed if the student maintains his/her CGPA of 6-7, which shows the consistent of the student in their field.
