Amazing undergraduate college experience

The college campus is extremely well located. And the college management is excellent. I have nothing to complain about and the network built in the college is amazing, it would live a lifetime.

Excellent course structure with very competent professors to teach them. There was a heavy focus on research-based subjects along with the technical and quantitative subjects. There is a dissertation involved in the 2nd and the 3rd year. The research-based subjects could get very hectic if not paid proper attention.

The placement cell of the college is very active, and there are two compulsory summer internships that are a part of the university’s course framework. These internships are graded and a report is to be submitted to the panel.

Social Fest, Cultural Fest, Sports Fest, Intra university sports championship. Every fest mentioned above is celebrated in a grand manner and has a huge participation rate. Students are highly involved in the fest activities, and they learn a lot about the department that they work in.

The fee structure is quite spread out with various payment schedules. There were options to pay the entire fees upfront, annually or semester wise. The late fees fine was, however, huge, Rs. 500 per day. The payment could either be made online or bank transfer.

There is a university scholarship available to you if you score really well in the entrance test for symbiosis. The test is very competitive and scoring well is usually difficult, but not impossible.

The gender ratio is not balanced, but it is quite close to 50-50. Symbiosis University is known for its students’ parties. There are several societies and clubs that you can associate with. The student diversity is distributed and people from across the country come to SSE to study. There are foreign exchange students in the class every semester as well.

Good facilities provided by the hostel. The hot water timings are in the morning and evening, twice a day on weekdays and 24 hour supply during the weekends. The hostel room is shared between three people and often the students from different departments would share the room.

The senior students are very helpful especially if you stay in the hostel. They can help you out with books and study material because they cost a lot.

The admission process was based on PI-WAT. An option from two current affairs topics was given and I had to choose one of the topics and type a 2000 word essay in 30 minutes. After this, there was the interview round and they checked all the relevant documents. During the process, I was asked several technical and current affairs questions and the interview went on for about 15-20 minutes.

The faculty is very competent, and the best at what they do. Every faculty is an expert in their own field of the subjects that they teach. Faculty of the institution is very approachable and every teacher goes out of their way to help the students overcome the problems that they might face.
