Remarks
The college management is very good and helpful. Whenever any student has a doubt, extra classes are arranged to address that issue. The management is quite approachable.
Entrance Preview
SET( Symbiosis Entrance Test). I scored 99 on 120. The interview process was very relaxed. There was a written ability test, where we had to write a small essay on any one the given 3 topics. The curriculum is updated and resonated with the current world affairs.
Course Curriculum Overview
The curriculum is very good. It is updated and includes current affairs. We have various kinds of subjects ranging from portfolio management to international relations. We even have liberal arts subjects like Advertising, Film Appreciation and Law and Economics. We also were taught a foreign Language (Spanish/French/German).
Internships Opportunities
The college doesn't provide any internship. But we have two compulsory internships that are a part of our curriculum.
Placement Experience
A total of 20 companies came for placements. They offered research positions to the students with 3-4 lakhs per annum package. The companies include ZS Associates, ValueNotes, Demand Planning LLC, Zocdoc, Zolostay, Laugh out Loud, Saavn, Laugh Guru, Marketnomix.
College Events
Our college celebrates one fest: Laissez Faire. It is still in the making. Colleges from around Pune and other colleges under Symbiosis participated. It is generally a three-day fest. We have a Social fest, a cultural fest and a sports fest. The Social fest is a new concept where we try to do something good for the society.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure is slightly expensive. The fees for the first year was 1.25L, second year was 1.26L and for third year was 1.32L. Out of the 1.25L for the first year, 5000 is a refundable deposit. It is refunded after one clears all the papers. Apart from that, there are no hidden fees.
Fees and Financial Aid
I do not really know about scholarships. The fees are 1.25l per year. Loans are available from Bank of India.
Campus Life
The campus life is very chilled. We have students coming from various countries like France, Germany, London and African nations. In my batch, there were more girls than boys. You will probably find the most open-minded people in this college. People of colour, religion and sexual orientation study here. We all are friends and there is no judgement. Extra-curricular activities took place all the time. We had celebrations on 26th January, Teacher's day and various other events.
Hostel Facilities
The college is very good. The rooms are very big and beautiful. The rooms have attached bathrooms. Symbiosis hostels use pet therapy to help students fight home sickness or any kind of sadness. There are two pugs in the hostel to play with the students. The mess food is also quite tasty.
Alumni/Alumna
Our seniors are very helpful. There is no sign of ragging in our college. We hang out with our seniors, party with them.
Exam Structure
The days were mostly chilled out. The college timings were 8.30- 2 pm. There were hardly any extra classes except during the final semester. Saturday and Sunday were holidays. The internal exams were held 2 papers a day. The syllabus used to be small for the internals. The semester exams were held 1 paper a day for a week. There are no gaps between two papers.
Admission
The form was released online. I filled up the form and I was called for the admission test. After clearing that, I was called for the PI-WAT process. The interview round was very relaxed. I was asked a few questions on mathematics. The Writing Ability Test was also very easy. We were given 3 topics and we had to write a 500 word essay on any one of them.
Faculty
The faculty is very good. Most of the professors are young and pursuing their PhD or are recently done with it. They are all quite knowledgeable and approachable. They provided us with full guidance. They even provided us with notes and all kinds of materials that are needed for study.
