It offers a great placement after the course completion, companies like microsoft, amazon google, flipkart and other companies like goldman sachs come to recruit new freshers in their companies and even offer internships as well.
The fests conducted in our college are worth enjoying and marvelous talent is encouraged.
No fees hike policy.cost to study is a bit high for a government organisation but it's worth it.scholarship opportunities financial assistance and job opportunities are very satisfactory over here.

Dislikes

The scholarship availability should not be below 5 lakh.. it should be a larger number beacuse 5 lakh income is lower income than a lower middle class family.
The faculty advisor is a very rude and strict person who doesn't understand the student's problems.
Placements for lower branches are not that good and being a remote area more companies are not coming to college

Likes

Faculty is excellent, they are experienced .
Campus life is good, diverse campus full of woods.
Infrastructure is good, class rooms are okish

Dislikes

The mess food, it's unhygienic and not at all has some taste
Labs are functioning but there could be some new equipment
Placements are not that good , taking the point that this is a top 3 nit

Students from the 7th semester to the final year are .eligibld for placements, and companies recruiting are very good. But the number of students who land exceptionally high salaries is very less like 10-15 hardly get high salaries above 45lpa.

NIT Rourkela college review

Likes

The peeps along whom i am studying are pretty good and are supportive.
The overally grennery of the campus is very much appreciable.
The departement buildings are pretty well equipped and up to the mark.

Dislikes

The attendance policy is a lot strict as compared to other colleges
Some new equippments should be brought for the students to have further exposure.
The sports facilty could be improved a lot more. Though steps are being taken.

Placement Experience:

The placement scenario at our college is pretty good. Nearly all the students looking for placement get placed. The average package is around 11 lakhs and the highest package is above 50 lakhs. Most of the companies in the core and analytics sector come to our institute. My plans are to get a good placement after getting the degree.

Placement Experience:

We can do interns from the very 2nd year of our college, and placement eligibility will be in our 4th year. Coming to chemical engineering the percentage of students getting placements is around 98%. My plan is to get a job and settle down.

NITR in a Brief.

Likes

Greenery: Campus is full of greenery, but sometimes in the rainy season you will see snakes.
People from other states and shared cultures along with their fests.
small town of rourkela is very quite, easy communication available.

Dislikes

Hostel food and room facilities, with many sites are blocked in the internet.
Hectic classes with 85% attendance, lot of assignments.
In library acs dont work even in summers.

Placement Experience:

7th and 8th sem. A lot of companies visit like in chemical engineering: ExxonMobil, GAIL, Tata Steel, etc. Highest:22LPA and Avg. around 8LPA. 97% from the chemical engineering dept. Higher studies mostly PHD.

Likes

It is a very wonderful place indescribable by words.

Dislikes

Artificial fauna like cats and dogs with robotic arms
Buildings so lowly built that even a student is able to climb and jump up easily.

Placement offers of the college touch the skies with record-breaking placements of over 50 crores and even Microsoft and Google are just one of the companies waiting to recruit the wonderful students.

A Honest Review of NITR CSE student

Likes

The placement of CSE branch is quite impressive here.
Campus is very beautiful and large enough.
Infrastructure & course is good and need minor modifications

Dislikes

Dispensary is far away so feel like booking online cab for it
Sometimes books are not available in library which I need to pass my end semester

Placement Experience:

Typically students become from the 7th semester for placements in B.tech and 3rd semester in M.tech. Companies visited and offers made: NIT R attracts a wide range of companies for placements. Some of the well-known are: Amazon, google Microsoft, Samsung R&D, Deloitte , Infosys, TCS etc The total number of companies visited in 2022 was 325 and a total of 1300+ offers were made and 100 new recruiters. The highest package was 48.48 LPA and the average package was 12 lpa for Btech students in the 2022 placements drive. The percentage of students got placed in 2022 was more than 95% in various companies. As of now, I'm just looking for a decent job at well-known tech organisations.

NITR-is it a good choice?

Likes

In our college ,I liked the club culture where we can improve our skills a lot.
I liked the huge campus with full of greenary .
Less restrictions when compared to private colleges

Dislikes

Few students get addicted to smoking and alcohol
few Hostel rooms which are so congesting
The food available in the college mess is tasteless.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to sit for placements just after reaching the final year of their course. A lot of companies visit our college for recruiting students and on average every company recruits 5 students. Categories like software, consulting and analytics, electronics and power industries related companies visit. Around 92% of students get placed every year. The highest package offered is 50 LPA in the software sector.

A friend at NIT Rourkela gave me a detailed review of her college the last time she visited me. Here are some highlights from her descriptive experience

NIT Rourkela has a huge, serene, and well-secured campus.
The institute has diverse clubs that promote extracurricular activities and their performance is better than most clubs of other engineering colleges.
Decent Internet speed is offered and the Dc++ is well maintained.
The hostels are well-maintained and decked with all the basic amenities one could ask for.
Students are actively involved in sports such as gymming and swimming.
The faculties are a mixed bag. Some are underqualified and lethargic while some motivate you to become a better person.
The institute boasts of an extensive entrepreneurship culture.
The institute needs to work on increasing its alumni base and the level of fests it organizes given the huge income the institute generates.
The placement scenario varies from branch to branch. It's decent for branches like CS while pathetic for others.
Rourkela does not have any places to explore and also lacks flight connectivity.
The city of Rourkela is one of the cleanest places so hygiene is not an issue here.
