The teachers are friendly with the students and i have the best learning experience in there.
The facilities gauhati university is providing and the infrastructure. teachers try to provide as much information as they can. the campus is so peaceful. hostels facilities are so good. gauhati university provides good health and medical facilities
The courses are very good as they probide a vast selection of them.

Dislikes

There was no entrance exam for us, it was online registration and merit list was provided, there was no entrance exam for us.
Some teacher are very good and some are so bad in behavior and teaching so i dislike some teachers.
Teachers are not good in teaching they are also bad behavior.

Inside Gauhati University: A first year experience in ECE

Likes

I really like the environment and the vibe of my university.
Professors are also very sweet and helpful.
Infrastructure of my department is very good. It's clean and hygienic

Dislikes

As a government institute their fees is quite high than other engineering colleges
Management is very slow and not so good.
There is nothing to dislike just the management need some improvement

From 7th semester students start getting placement. Companies like Codeyoung, Hikeedu, ITC Infotech, federal Bank, zafin, nuclei visited our university and give placement offers. Highest package till date is 20LPA . 77% students get placement. My plans after getting the B.Tech degree is to pursue a MBA degree.

My Experience

Likes

The thing i like that teacher in our class use projector to teach us in class.
Next thing i like that our college was accredited with Autonomous status, which help us to get every sem result on time.
In our college, the students gets to join various seminars, which college authorities provide us with time to time

Dislikes

The main thing which i disliked about our college is that our college campus is small if you compare with other colleges.
Next thing is that in our college we don't have enough space in college campus to sit during off periods rather than your classroom
The next thing is that there were various construction going on in our college so for now the college environment is healthy enough for a student to perform.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i want to appear for civil service examinations in future, so for me political science subject is helpful for my future career, In our department our faculty trach us in a decent manner, but there are some improvements needed with time.

The classrooms are good but the campus needs some improvement
I enjoy my break time in the college campus happily and saw the beauty of nature.
The faculties are experienced, good teaching methods and well mentorship quality.

Course Curriculum Overview:

BA in English has a specific aspect of the curriculum that it created a good human being which is influenced my decision to choose this course. I prepared the curriculum in a good manner for real world applications. I suggest to improve the dramatization of the teaching methods.

An Overview on Gauhati University: why should you choose this College/ university

Likes

Environment: The campus is clean and well maintained .
Free Bus is available for students of college .
The Auditorium is large and spacious . It can be used for various events very easily.

Dislikes

Floods: During floods , the college is filled with flood water and very inconvenient for students to travel to and fro.
Lifts / elevators are not allowed to be used for students , making them climb the stairs upto many floors .
Teacher -student interaction can be improved for better understanding of the subject.

Placement Experience:

From 5th -6th semester, students become eligible for campus placements and relevant exams are conducted for such matters. A no. Of offers are made from companies such as Capgemini, TCS , Wipro , etc. The highest package is 4 Lpa and the average package is 2-3 Lpa. Out of 50-60 students , around 5-10 students get placements or get selected for job positions . After getting the degree , I opted for corporate jobs.

Likes

girls and boys ration is 70:30 . so campus have more girl
huge campus . we have a huge campus and it is very beautiful
good alumni network . gu is the oldest university in north east .

Dislikes

administration . administration is not that good
placement . placement is also not that good
infrastructure is not that good also as it is oldest university in northeast

Placement Experience:

our college gives placement but it is not that good. average 50 of students got a placement with a 4 lakh average salary. the highest package is 12 LAKH in the 2024 batch and I am thinking of going for offcampus placement in 4th the year and only 4 year students can sit in the placement

Life at Tezpur College: Pros and Cons

Likes

Environment: The college environment is decent and maintained
Teacher- student interaction is well maintained .
Faculty and teachers are Friendly and supportive.

Dislikes

Whole Course / syllabus is not covered due to insufficiency of time
Sometimes faculty can be rude and inapproachable.
During flood it becomes difficult for students to travel to and fro college

Course Curriculum Overview:

This college has decent and qualified faculty for commerce and hence my decision for choosing this college as well as this course . This college prepares you with real life knowledge about the commercial sector and assists with future academic courses. The teaching methods can be better for ensuring better teacher student interaction. Each semester is of 4 months in total and exams are held every 4-6 months . Exams are sometimes okay and sometimes difficult.

I like how the teachers are so helpful in our studies
The faculty is very understandable in regards to attendence
Our college arranged events in intervals which creates a good environment

Dislikes

The course is really outdated and we need practical experience
We have really less experience and need internship facility
We need placement opportunities from our college

Our course is good but we have really less practical experience.most of the students just learn theory and pass we don't have any real life experience which prepares us for the real world so we are lacking there and we need improvement in that field

Likes

I like Garden of our college because it is beautiful and the claener used to clean everyday.
I also like Staffroom because they keep it very clean and tidy.
And I also like our college Surrounding because sweeper clean everyday and make it look like standard.

Dislikes

I don't like our college Classroom because it is not as big as number of students are.
I disliked our girls Common room because it is always dirty.
And i dislike Auditorium because its to small.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Education department because in future I want to become a good professor. Some faculty in our Education department doesn't teach properly but some are very good in teaching. Some teachers need to teach properly and some teachers need to be regular. The timing of exam should be 3 hours and internal exam timing should be ½ hours.

Gauhati Commerce College- My Happiness.

Likes

Overall college is very good but only need improvement in Field. Field is not in a good condition
Campus is good, we have both boys and girls hostel and most of the students are free and frank
Culturally Gauhati Commerce College is very active

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I was motivated from my parents, they prefers me to choose Bcom course. 2) In 12th standard- Their capacity is 800 seats and for Bcom , faculty provides 1100 seats... 3) College faculty is really helpful and most of the teachers are friendly and Graduated... They are experienced professor's... 4) Bcom have two exams per semester... In 1st semester,our classes starts from August and sessional exam starts in September last... And in November last,or December first week, final exams starts..

One of my friends graduated from Gauhati University. According to her, it’s a decent university.

Faculty: The faculties are dedicated. They may seem strict at first, but you can approach them, regarding your problems.

Curriculum: The course curriculum is up-to-date. You can even follow the syllabus for various entrance tests.

Classes: Classes are held regularly. The institute is also strict regarding attendance.

Co-curricular: Different co-curricular activities are held around the academic year.

The environment on campus is great for studies. The university has been accredited with NAAC A grade. Overall it can be a great place to pursue your studies.
