Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.

Dislikes

Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

A Closer Look at NIT Silchar: Facilities, Placements and More

I appreciate the fact that NITS has the largest digital library in Asia. The library has got a great space to do academic learning. It has also got an auditorium where very important webinars and sessions are held for students which are important.
The seniors of NITS are very helpful. They are always ready to help their juniors both academically and extra curriculum. There is no option of ragging over there rather the seniors are so friendly to their juniors.
The professors are genuinely concerned for the benefit of the students. They make sure that we understand everything crystal clear

Dislikes

The education could have been more digitalised bringing the digital board basically there is lack of smart education which should be a part of today’s education.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. In the placement session for 1022-2023, over 200 companies visited the campus and made more than 690 job offers achieving an overall placement percentage of 89.4%. Some of the prominent recruiters included Amazon, Microsoft, Adobe, Intuit and many others. The highest package offered was INR 80 LPA while the average package stood at INR 14.39LPA. The percentage of students getting placed in NIT Silchar in the year 2022-2023 was approximately 90.76%. My plans after getting the degree is to sit for the job and also give competitive exams like GATE, ESE

Some professor are of top notch in term of deliering their lecture ,and their TA would help you if u doing some research project under him
Competitive coding culture is at its best and also lots of clubs are there which help in overall development of a man

Dislikes

Extreme hard academics, even two suicide in 4 months just because of this

placement is too good for cse it would be aroung 24 lpa average and 18 lpa median for cse average is around 18lpa atlassian take 3 student giving 82.5 lpa ..this year aws take 19 student giving 54lpa however in 2024 this stat drop

Ground-Zero scenario of nit silchar

The lush green campus of NIT silchar is one of the major attraction for the students. our college has well-maintained gardens that make it pleasant for study.
Infrastructure of Nit Silchar is one of the thing that I like most.
Academic excellence of NIT Silchar is very good.

Dislikes

Attitude of the professor of Nit Silchar.
Remote location of Nit Silchar is one of the major disadvantage for the college.
climate and weather of the this part of assam is very unpredictable.

Placement Experience:

The Placement of NIT Silchar is good . college provide enough knowledge and potential to the sthe student so that the easily get on campus placement and some of those who don't get college placement they may apply for off-campus placement and either they go for higher studies.

NIT Silchar - Is it worth it??

Nice infrastructure for New gallery, CC buliding, administration building, Library etc. Newly built infrastructure are good... Trees are everywhere in the campus.. very green campus with a large area..It also has 19 lakes which is somewhat good..
All types of sports all played here.. There is also a sports complex.
Faculties are highly qualified and some are friendly also.

Dislikes

Most labs are outdated.. some of the Equipments are faulty.. Old gallery looks devastated and Old...
Old Hostels like BH3 , BH8 etc are very dirty and are in poor condition..
Most professors are not student friend especially in electrical and mechanical department.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester of our BTech courses, students are getting placed.. Both in campus and off campus placements are there Most students of Btech degree are placed with a overall percentage of 90% I was planning get a job after my BTech

I like the environment in which the education is studied.
Good food provided in the canteen and in the hostels
There are two fests held in a year.they are cultural fest and technical fest

Dislikes

In the rainy season there are more no of power cuts.
hostels food is not suitable for the people who come from south india there are not so many spices added.

POV: 2 years into NIT Silchar

Likes

Campus: I think one of the Biggest flex about being a student of NIT Silchar is its 625 acre campus with greenery, many lakes and every other things u wished u want in a college. Even an entire day is not enough to tour the whole campus
Placement: Considering many people from out side of NE INDIA dont opt for northeastern NITs , NIT Silchar is an exception in case of placement
Sports: There club for any sport u would like to play and facility and support provided from college to some intent

Dislikes

Remote: At least 10 kms away from silchar town, railway station, airport
Citylife: No citylife here,Silchar isnt even in top 5 town of Assam. All u get is campus life

Right after going to 4th year students are allowed to seat for placement. For detailed placement statistics visit TnP cell Nit silchar page on Linkedin or Facebook. For the last 5 years placement has spiked pretty good but reportedly ongoing placement session is not upto mark

NIT SIlchar

Large campus of 600+ acres. 18+ lakes. Also there is a tea garden behind the college. The nature is untouched. In total the raw beauty of the nature inside the college is untouched.
The infrastructure of the campus is really good including well equipped labs, libraries and sports complex. Which ensures the overall development of the student.
The Institute has a strong placement record with many students getting placed in top companies like amazon, goldman sachs, microsoft, adobe etc. each year.

Dislikes

The Institute is in a remote area surrounded by nature which might not attractive to everyone. Specially those who grew up in a urban area and looking for a vibrant life.
Due to it is in a remote area. There is less entertainment & social life opportunities outside the campus.
The climate in silchar becomes quite humid & hot in certain months in the year.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good here. But after the covid situation now the placement isn't good enough like it used to be. But overall it's good enough if you compare it with other colleges in the northeast india.

Course Curriculum Overview:

We will have semester wise for a total of 100 marks which includes mid sem ,minor and end sem. They will make sure the syllabus is completed within the time and they make us to do extra efforts on problem solving

Campus of nit Silchar is very good.teaches are very good at nit silchar.they provide us good education,they take regular classes from 8am to 5pm,there are many lakes in nit Silchar which are very beautiful
Raods of the campus are very beautiful and Clea.
Hostel of the campus is very beautiful and clean

Dislikes

I don't like the classes coz it starts from 8am to 5pm
Gym of our campus is not good..also there is not
They follow stirict 75 percent Attendance issue

Placement Experience:

Placement of our college good.like in my branch the average package provide is 12lpa.and in other branches also the placements are good.in last year the highest package in our college was 80lpa.The overall placement is good

We have a very eco friendly and vast campus that really gives you a good feel that you are in a institution of national importance
The infrastructure is also good. we have all the facilities that can satisfy an graduating students needs
The thing that stands out from all is the students and competitiveness in them that help to learn grow with the help of peers.

Dislikes

Old hostels and few old classrooms but once you get adjusted to them they feel no different
One hardly dislikes anything after they get adjusted in the campus they feel second to home and enjoy the engineering life
The food is also not that great it is just like one can survive on it but not eat it by savoring it

Placement Experience:

This year placements have not been up to the mark due to the market scenarios. the obvious recession and the downfall in the IT industry but compared to colleges I would still say our college is in a better place compared to others colleges with an average package of around 14 LPA and with a placed student percentage of about 75% of the students who registered for the placements.
