NIT Silchar is a really good college. It has a lush green campus of 650 acres. Life in NIT Silchar is really a memorable one.NIT has one of the largest waterbodies in a campus. It's waterbodies are used for research purposes. We have our own solar energy harvesting facilities also.

Many companies such as L&T construction, Tata advanced systems, Wipro, Oracle, SAP, Nokia, ABB, Goldman Sachs and many more which has visited our campus this year. Generally, they provided a profile of GET( Graduate Engineer Trainee). The placement process is 1. Online test 2. Technical test 3. Interview Till now 71% of students are placed mechanical engineering department.

Training and Placement cell makes sure that those who are eligible for the companies would get maximum chances and leave college with at least one job in hand with a decent package. Positive - Good alumni, helpful seniors, almost no ragging, Good facilities for sports, Meghalaya is very near from hear which has many tourist places. Negative - Some buildings are under construction, Average faculty. Very good place to enjoy. You will surely love the college.

The most positive thing you can get in the college is the environment of the college. It is completely natural environment surrounded by trees and lakes and different types of flowers. The academic section is not far from the hostel. So its good to not miss the classes because you're late. There are two buses that runs at the time of classes to pick IP the students to their classes. Here various type of festival of college is celebrates like Tecnoisis(technical fest), Incandescence (cultural fest). Students from different parts of the country come to participate here. The negative thing is the location of the college. It is located in a hilly area. The train here runs at an average speed of 27-30 km/h. So you have to wait a lot to reach there while in the train.

It is in NORTH EAST so some WHEATHER and food conditions are nit suitable for SOUTH fellow friends. Except thus matter no other matters may hurt us. No more fightings are quarells and seniors will be like brithers. Temperature is unexpectable here

Sure there are some drawbacks but considering the limited budget these drawbacks are reasonable.As i said few faculties aren't good, college focuses too much on attendance, college doesn't pay attention to our fun

Mostly there is positive remark and no negative remark.tge negative remark is there is not much comptition among the student and faculty does not providing scholarship to the student.
