NIT Silchar Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

There were many factors which supported my choice. Like few of the major one was it's nirf ranking, placement percentage, companies visiting for campus placement and internship and it's alumni network. Several other factors were responsible like it's Hostel facilities, ragging free environment, Sports facilities and learning resources like Digital library.

The nirf ranking and the civil engg department I opted is among the first branch to be taught here. Also the placements are decent. Since the PSU also visit the campus. The ambience of the college is very calm and soothing. Its beyond the chaos of the cities and full of naturely love. The various departments have their well equipped buildings. There are recreational means as well in the college. The best part is we dont need to travel to the town to purchase stuff. We have 12 fair price shops already in the campus

The training and placement cell of NIT SILCHAR enables us to easily look for job opportunities. We are very happy with our seniors. They not only help us to get jobs but also they provide a lot of platforms to showcase our intelligence, knowledge and passion in various traits.

The placement scenario is quite good, with several reputed companies like General Electric, Power Grid Corporation of India, Goldman Sachs, among others recruiting 94 percent of the students in the college. The placement takes place in three rounds, one testing one's aptitude, followed by an hour round, finally leading on to a technical round. Mock interview and job cracking sessions are organized regularly, both by the departments, and also the Training and Placement Cell, to prepare students for the interviews and examinations going forward. The Training and Placement Cell also provides internship opportunities at the end of third year for the students, based on their aptitude and abilities

The primary reason is my parents staying in Silchar. The NIRF ranking is good. The reviews for the institute in education websites like CollegeDunia were positive. I've had visited the institute a few times before when I was young and I was in awe, as the town is pretty different than the campus. There is plenty of greenery which is very relaxing.

NITs are India's best engineering institutes after IITs. NIT Silchar is in top 10 among the NITs and has great infrastructure, research potential, coding environment, placements and alumni network. Major companies visits campus during placement season. Cultural and technical fest are just mind blowing and also campus has a unique natural beauty which cannot be found anywhere else. It has Asia's largest digital library which is of great help. Electronics has always fascinated me since my childhood, i wanted to learn and research more in this field. ECE is only branch in NIT Silchar to have NBA Accreditation. It is also 2nd NIT to do so.

Because it is a National level institute and have more options to express our talent and much more opportunities comes to your feet. Where you have to do work by your own , you break your limits and express a new inner you

It's a national institute and I prefer cse branch which is one of the best branch in this college so according to my rank I got this college in JEE councelling.The clubs in the college are most active and provide good support for everyone.

From the branches Computer Science and Electronics and Communication, there's almost 100% placement takes place. The salary goes to as high as 32 lacs. The average package hovers between 5 to 7 lacs. Many renowned Indian companies as well as MNCs take part in the campus placement. There is always more number of job offer registers against no of students. In the other branches, the placement scenario is also good. This year the Civil department couldn't stand out that much in the placement scenario. Overall, the placement scenario is very good compared to its contemporary colleges of the region

The main factors which drove me to take admission in this college was it's ranking. The next was it's placement percentage of CSE and ECE which was 90% + since last 2-3 years. The next factor was the no. Of company visiting the college and it's allumuni network which was Good! Apart from these, factors like it's infrastructure, Hostel facility, weather, Library facility, Technical events being organised in college every year also encouraged me to join this college.
