I liked the campus beauty and the staff over here who are very supportive and the teachera who are ready for yoy every time you go to them and wven the hygine is maintained quite good here
Faculty members in this department are the best atleast i think so, they interact with students in a friendly manner this allows us to freely ask our doubts and gain knowledge.
Tution fee in each year is increased by 10 percent and there are number of scholarships and fee refunds for which a student can apply for after approval of his cirtificates and various other documents.

Dislikes

Hostels - their is not sufficient hostels available for students and hostel mess is very bad. their is no student union available so it is very difficult to make some change in college.
It is not so good as expected because of lack of facilities within the college.but according to social aspects and culture it is good and our nit is lacking infrastructure and this affects campus life too.
It is a very small campus compared to the other nits, the college grounds are very small, and there are no separate buildings for the courses.

Life in NIT RAIPUR

Likes

placements of top branches and curriculum of IT branch is pretty good
placement of overall college is on better side
environment of the college is not so hectic

Dislikes

limited number of hostels for boys and girls
fast paced curriculum makes the course a bit hectic
small campus is a factor due to which the facilites are limited

campus placement of top branches that is the tech branches are pretty good IT has an average package of 18 lpa and highest of around 55 lpa whereas for cse the average dip down to 15 lpa and the highest is 62 lpa the top recruiters are DE shaw , Goldman sachs , adobe etc

Likes

decent college with around 3 canteens and good atmosphere
big spacious classrooms especially for the higher semester students
cheap fees unlike other NIT's and excellent city connectivity

Dislikes

Some areas are under developed and some things are not as good
Hostels are not provided for each and every student
night canteen are not present and in timings are also very early

Placement Experience:

placements are above average in this college. From third semester onwards only the students start getting internships and fill placements drive are also there in the fourth year which ensures a decent package according tou your branch and skills

LIFE'S AT NIT'S

Likes

Things I loved the most is the environment of the college where all people are very focused on their lives to get something in your life with enthusiasm and drive towards the coal which I found myself very happy to mingle with them
This gives you the exposure to explore yourself and standard from the regular private colleges and gains you attack of NIT which makes you special and makes Earth thinking very broad
As people from various cities come and accommodate in this college wheat and to share different cultures and experience different type of food language and love and support

Dislikes

The thing which are really didn't like about this college is the infrastructure of the college and the interiors of the college which are very disgusting where the tables are really not so good and this city is in the mid part of India with lies in t
The college should provide AC rooms or well ventilated rooms has the temperature go still 40 degree celsius in the summers and low as 25 or 23 in the winters
There are no proper stalls inside the college which makes us to go outside for kilometres with makes us very difficult to travel

Course Curriculum Overview:

As my father is a civil engineer I opted civil engineering cause as his own business so I can take over is business and continue on. As I am in first year yet I don't know about the real life or realwood application of the academic pursuits. One thing the curriculum and teaching method which could in have improved is that teachers could have been more better and would have provide more time for the exams the difficulty level of the exam s are moderate and exams are very fast and we don't have the time to cover it up

Likes

Amazing fests and good college life with very supportive clubs and commitees
Amazing support from seniors and an extremely amazing and large Alumini network
Faculties are very very supportive of the students

Dislikes

Raipur is a place with extreme climates . Quiet hot during Summers and cold during winters
Hostels are almost next to none just few hundred of student's accommodation is available
The campus is smaller than expected almost close to 100 acers and 30-50% is covered by vegetation

Placement Experience:

Not too good place but the avg placement is around 12-15. Some notable companies visiting nit raipur are Microsoft, Ambuja Cements , Infosys , TCS , GE Healthcare, ONGC ,many PSU, SAIL , etc. almost 70% of students gets placed every year. Highest package for year 2023 was 55lac. Students are eligible for placement from 3rd year. I plan to pursue further education as biomedical has almost a very substantial hike in its importance after master's degree

I like academic system in my institute which is provided good knowledge.
There is good dispensary system is available.
The route of college is easily available for students.

Dislikes

There is parking issue in this college for students.
Not having proper hostel for all the students.
Needs more classrooms for all the departments.

Placement Experience:

In seventh semester students are eligible for the placement.there is lot of IT company such as Google, Amazon,Adobe ,etc and many core companies visiting. The highest package from our college is 55 lac from mining field. There is 70 percent students are placed . I also want to get job in my respective field. Ia

The behaviour of the seniors towards their junior is supportive and friendly.
Some of the events are really good.more and more technological are work are being done and learnt to many new comers
The celebration of festival and lecture of some professors

Dislikes

Hostels are not provided to all and many have to stay outside.

Placement Experience:

The placements are good at the college while many get into college with the aim of better placement but alter on the get into something different which the develop interest to. If there are no campus placements then GATE and either competitive exam are in the queue for placements

Diverse culture which facilitates interactions
Flexible curriculum and examination process
Very interactive faculty who help when in need

Limited hostel allotment forcing students to stay outside
Poor quality of hostel mess and hostel infrastructure

Mine is the Information Technology branch and I always wanted to get into something related to computer science related always. Although the curriculum is very orthodox, it is the flexibility of the examinations and the ample opportunity to involve with like mindsets has fascinated me in this college

Likes

Good atmosphere in the in side of college with more amount of open area
Good teaching faculty for explanation of theory subjects
Friendly faculty to clarify every single doubt

Dislikes

Poor maintainance in in ground and sports commitee
Insufficient seats for the availabile number of students

as i am intrested and curious to learn about machines i choose Mechanical engineering need to improve in lab faculty and need to increase time duruation between mid sem and end sem and also add a library period in every semestre time table

Good for Placement but in exchange of good college life

Likes

CCC lab (computers to do your work if you don't have one)
Canteen (affordable and good place to gather and meet)
Clubs and committees (for exposure and interaction)

Dislikes

Lack of Hostels (makes it difficult for other state students)
Library (too small to be called an NIT library)
Restrictions on Hostel and College timings.

Placement Experience:

As per campus the basic thing is maintaining CPI (CGPA) is very important. The college provides good enough placement opportunities but you need to be atleast eligible for it. Maintain good CPI and placements won't be such a big issue.

As an alumnus of NIT Raipur, here are my views on this institution-

Faculty- The faculty lags behind in terms of NIT standards. It is slightly above average. This is because their teaching method is not very engaging. That being said, the teachers are helpful. They will advise you to engage in extracurriculars as well.

Student Interaction- The senior-junior interaction is good.

Despite IIT Raipur and AIIMS Raipur being in close proximity, interaction and

idea-sharing with them is negligible.

Industry Connect- It has a good industry connection for some core branches like mining, metallurgy, and civil.

Campus Life- The campus life isn’t good. But eventually, you’ll learn to cope with things and enjoy yourself. You’ll learn a lot during your degree from this campus.

Infrastructure- There is a lot of room for improvement in the infrastructure of this college.

Placement- Placement records are decent. Last year an average package of INR 10.1 LPA was recorded by the college. A total of 738 offers were made by 101 companies. Some of the companies that visit the campus for placements include- Infoedge, Siemens, Adobe, Barclays, Capgemini, FIAT, Reliance, TATA, SapientNitro, Oracle, Amazon, Samsung, JP Morgan Chase, Cognizant and Wipro.

Overall, I would say that NIT Raipur is a bit lacking in many respects. However, you’ll get a good chance to rise over here because of low competition.
