Jamia Millia Islamia University Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

Students become eligible for placements from the 3rd semester. Placements are quite good in comparison to other central University. Many Reputed companies visit campus for placements. Some of them are Indian Bank, Wipro, TCS, CEAT, Jaro Education, Byju's, KPMG. Highest Package - 8 Lakhs, Lowest Package - 3.5 Lakhs, Average Package - 5 Lakhs.

I am passionate about teaching and for 5-6 years I have been teaching. That's why I choose this field. The faculty to students ratio is 10-15:100 students. They are PhD holders and net qualifiers. The teaching quality makes our faculty members the best ones. The exams are conducted timely.

Before our final exams, many companies and NGOs came to our college to give us job opportunities. Some NGOs tnat came to our college was Pardada Pardadi Educational society. Many students got placed in different organizations.

In the last semester students can get placement according to ther knowledge. The companies like HCL,WIPRO,AMAZON,FLIPKART,NASA,DRDO,L&T,HITACHI,HP,DELL,MICROSOFT.etc. are visit to our campus to placement. The highest package is 41 lakh per annum in 2020. There are 90% students get placements in very good companies and international companies.

For the courses like Architecture, Engineering, Law, Mass Communication, many big companies come for placements in Jamia. As my course is a Bachelors's subject under Arts, there aren't many placement opportunities. But I hope to pursue my Master in History after which I would try to get placed.

From the second last semester, students become eligible for the campus placements for full-time roles. Some major companies such as Innovaccer, Springboard, American Express, Optum, OYO, Samsung, Comviva, EXL, TCS, Cognizant and others visits campus to hire Engineering & MCA students for full time roles, made more than 150+ offers. Highest package offered by Microsoft is 43LPA, Innovacce 20 LPA, Springboard 19LPA, Optum 13LPA, OYO 10.5LPA, Samsung 10LPA and the average package is 6.5LPA for software development roles for BTech/MCA students, Almost of 90% of students from the Department of Computer Science(MCA) got placed with the highest package of 15LPA offered by Unicommerce, 10 LPA by Wipro and the average package is 4LPA. I was also placed during teh campus placement and currently working as a Web developer.

Generally, undergraduate students of Economics don't opt for placements. The placement cell is active for the master's degree and is doing a decent job. Some students do go for off-campus placement. Jobs available are very limited immediately after UG.

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards, Some of the companies visiting for campus placement are Aon, EY, Asian paints, MyOperator, The average campus placements range from 5-6 lakh, ALmost 80 percent of the students are able to procure the campus placement. My plans after BCom was to study further and do my MBA, which I did from the same college.

Students become eligible for placements from the third year. In fact, they start getting opportunities like internships and technical training right from the second year. Major Companies in Mechanical Engg. a branch that visits the campus includes Seimens, Larsen & Toubro, Cummins, ZS Associates, Wipro, TCS, IBM, L&T Construction, etc. The highest package offered was 9 lakh CTC and the average package offered was 5 lakh CTC for the mechanical branch. Around every student who sits for placement gets a job offer here by the end of the placement drive. Many students go for higher education in top colleges in India and abroad. Overall 80% of the students get placed. I was placed in Larsen and Toubro in the 7th semester and after the completion of my degree, I joined the company in August 2020 virtually owing to the Covid-19 pandemic.

The main reason of rejecting other two colleges and joining Jamia was that Jamia is Central University. The second primary reason for joining Jamia was that I got my preferred branch here (Computer Engineering). My admission was confirmed on 16th August,2016 with a spot round and the selection criteria was on the basis of marks in JEE Mains (which was 155/360). I had researched about the college through previously answered questions (on Quora website) regarding the college (weather the faculty and infrastructure of college is of standard or not etc) .
