The life at SVNIT

Likes

I like the college atmosphere and infrastructure.
I liked the new curriculum of our department
I like the clubs in our college where you can learn new things irrespective of department.

Dislikes

Food was not so good and non veg is also not provided
Bicycles were not provided as it is an nit it should be provided.
Attendance rules are so strict in our college

Placement Experience:

A student will be eligible for a placement drive from the beginning of 3rd year where you will sit for internship placement. and one has to maintain a minimum cgpa of 7. Nearly 100 companies have visited our campus. As far as cse is concerned highest package is 44lakhs and the average package is 18 lakhs. in cse 97% of students were placed.

Likes

The mess food is good for vegetarian
Placement and internship are very good
Campus Life is overall is good for students

Dislikes

Infrastructure is not so good and working is going on
Hostal intime and out time for first year students is not good
Timing and pressure of class is not right

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am very good at chemicals and chemistry or college is also good. The faculty-student ratio is about 1:50. All the faculty members are well qualified in their field and they do also PhD in their subjects. There are mainly two term exams - mid-term and end-term.

college fests are too much fun to have .

senior junior interaction should be increased.

Placement Experience:

in the computer science and engineering department placement is quite good students can sit for placement in the final year starting. major companies visit like Microsft, adobe etc. the highest package on campus in the computer science and engineering department is 44 while the average is 18.29 lakhs. almost 100% stduents gets palced in cse department .

My experience with college

Likes

Both the fest cultural and technical which is named as sparsh and Mindbend
Sport's and extra curricular activities are good
Professor and facilities are very much supportive

Dislikes

Infrastructure are old and I think that it should be renovated
Convocation hall should be made because it is necessary
At somewhere roads are not built properly

Placement Experience:

Students became eligible for 7 semesters of campus placement. The total company visited is 180 and no of offers made is more than 500. The highest package is 44 and the average package is 8 lakh of college. The average percentage of placement is 80 percent

An honest review of SVNIT SURAT

Likes

The alumni network is strong and students get placement at diverse places.
The seniors are so helpful for academic and non academic purposes.
There is no ragging policy means ragging is strictly prohibited.

Dislikes

Administration is so strict for non academic purposes.
There is 75 percent attendance necessary for each subject .

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement from the 7th semester. Companies visited- Jp Morgan, Amazon, TCS, Paytm, Infosys, Bajaj. The highest package and Average package are 48 lakhs and 10 lakhs respectively. Around 70 percent of students get placed at on-campus placement.

I chose this course due to its relevance and career prospects. The faculty: student ratio is favourable, promoting individual attention. Professors hold advanced degrees and often engage in research. Teaching methods are interactive, promoting conceptual clarity. Term exams are scheduled punctually, allowing ample preparation time. Passing exams requires dedication, but with attentive teaching and consistent effort, success is achievable.

The administration (or it would be prefferable to say most of the authorities at higher administrative positions) really lacks its own discipline.
Some fests like 'The Annual Techno-Cultural Fest' and 'The Freshers' is given very less attention and seems to be under-celebrated.

Placement Experience:

As per the latest reports, a total of 935 students of the batch 2023 have been placed in reputed companies till June 2023. The NIT Surat's highest package offered to the BTech and MTech students stood at INR 44 LPA and INR 48.75 LPA, respectively. Apart from this, the NIT Surat average package offered to the students of the BTech CSE branch and MTech CSE branch during NIT Surat placements 2023 stood at INR 18.26 LPA and INR 16.01 LPA, respectively. The top recruiters of SVNIT Surat in 2023 included Samsung, Amazon, Adani Group, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, KPMG, Deloitte, Asian Paints, etc. For more details, you can check the official website of SVNIT.

Likes

Library of svnit is vary vast and beautiful.
Infrastructure of svnit is also good and large
Faculty members are hoghly experienced and knowledgeable

Dislikes

Hectic class schedule. Study and exam pressure
Roads are not so good and still it is in process
Hostel for first year students are very bad

Placement Experience:

From seventh semester student become for campus placement. There are multiple companies visited like amazon, tcs, flipcart, hpcl, ongc, Highest package is 48lakhs ctc and average is 15 ctc In chemical 98percent go placed in 2022

Life at NIT Surat

Likes

Faculties and seniors are very helpfull.
Clubs are very interesting and meetings are held frequently.
Since inter-nit sports are held every year so proper training is given.

Dislikes

The infrastructure here needs to be improve.
The roads needs to be constructed and maintenance should be done.
The availability of library is not 24*7 which needs to be improved.

The placements in NIT Surat are good. The highest package is about 44 lakhs per annum. The companies such as Google, L&T, and many more come here. Almost everyone gets placed. My plan is to do a master's after my Btech.

SVNIT, a place to develop your all round skills and enjoy.

Likes

The placement opportunities are also pretty good.
The hostel life is vey good and you can make a good friend group.

Dislikes

The hostel facilities are not pretty great especially washroom facilities.
The labs can be improved because they have pretty old equipments at some labs .
The roads around tbe entire camlus are worst and need to be improved.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are pretty good in the institute. The students become eligible for campus placement after the 6th semester. As far as mechanical is concerned, the percentage of placements is very good for a batch of 232 members. The average package for the course ranges between 8-10 lpa and the highest package is around 16-17.

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
