Review Of SVNIT Surat.

Likes

Clubs and student chapters of SVNIT. They are on par will the India's best teams in technical and non technical fields.
The curriculum and teaching is quite good.

Dislikes

food will not be that good. So don't make up hopes high on that one.
Friends won't be helping you in your study so brace yourself for that.

Placement Experience:

Students will be eligible for campus placement from 7th sem. There are a lot of famous companies visits for placements like Honda, Bajaj, Ashok Leyland, L&T, Reliance, etc.. for mechanical engineering department there will be a placement of around 80% every year on an average. I will be opting for a job after graduation

THE REALITY UNSEEN

Likes

Library is a good spot to study as there is centralised air conditioning which makes it a good place during exam time and humid days.
I like the canteen facility as its cheap and had variety of food to choose from.
I like the campus area as it completely surrounded with trees which makes it a cool place to roam around.

Dislikes

I disliked the department room where our classes are taken.
I dislike the the lan connection as there's always an issue going on.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements start from 7th semester and continue till the end of semester as we have internship for 8th sem. Last year 2022 almost 90 percent of students were placed and companies like Bajaj, John dheere, Reliance, Tata, TVS etc are among the recruiters. John dheere provides with highest package of 12lpa and lowest goes to 3lpa. Average package is 8.56lpa. My plans are not to continue in my respective degree as I will appear for CAT exam and will pursue for MBA.

I like campus and infrastructure of my college.
I also like club and society. their all type of club and society are available for your personality development.
I get a good environment of people and friend.

Dislikes

Hostel mess food qualities not that much which I want.
Everything is very costly out of the campus.
There is also know any tourist place near our campus.

Placement Experience:

This course is a 5 year integrated program in which there are 10 semesters so you are eligible in the 9th semester for placement on campus. Samsung, deloit, byju's, Accenture Siemens, Airtel, CGI, Paytm, TCS and Akash etc. Last year 39 got the offer. The highest package is 20 LPA and the average package is 9.2 LPA. 60% of students were placed last year. I want to go to the government sector after completing my degree.

The college environment is quite productive, the club facilities is good

Likes

The students are well motivated and they have a hunger to do well in the future life. So the overall atmosphere feels good
All the club facilities are good where people showcasing their talents

Dislikes

The infrastructure of msc departments are quite poor
The management system of all hostel and College are very disappointing

Placement Experience:

For MSc students, the placement starts from the 9th semester and is carried out throughout the 5th year. Most of the students go for higher studies and do PhD in their respective fields. Other students are quite interested in teaching and they are placed in Allen, Physics Wallah, and byjus. Non-core students are placed in ICICI Bank, TCS, etc. The rest of the students go for pharma companies. In the year 2022, the placement percentage was 92% and the average package was 6.5 lakhs. I am planning to do a Ph.D. after completing my course.

Superb college

Likes

Quality of infrastructure is very good and there is proper ventilation in classes and also the behaviour of professor is good
Library is world class and there is proper availability of books
Lab facility is very good and there is all the machine available for test

Dislikes

Ground is not in good condition and not grass
Civil building is to old and it is not up to the mark
There is dust in college which is not good but it reduce

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course is semester-wise. So, every semester we studied 5 or 6 subjects. The exam was conducted in two parts within the semester. The first exam was conducted in the mid-semester which was 30 marks and the second exam was conducted in the end semester which was 50 marks. All the faculty members are Ph.D. and very talented. Also, they are helpful for solving the problem or doubt at any time. Sometimes organise a guest lecture or seminars for interested students and teachers.

I like the crowd and social life of our college as students from different states with different talents and interests come and we get to to learn a lot from each other. l
I like all the clubs ,activities, events and fests that take place in our college as they make us get the feel of real college life.
I like the campus of our college , the departments are also well built specially my departments which is almost newly built.

Dislikes

I don't like the internship and placements opportunities that are offered to core branch students and they really need improvement.
I don't like the hostel and mess facilities of our college and there is also a need of an auditorium .
The food and rates of college canteen are really amazing but there is an urgent need of improvement in its infrastructure.

Students become eligible for campus placements from 6-7 semesters depending on the branches. Placements are great at non-core branches CS and ECE where big MNCs like Adobe, Barclays, WellsFargo, JPMC, VISA, Mastercard, etc. visit, and this year till now almost 70 students out of 120 are placed in CS, this number is still less this year due to recession after covid and a little less in EC where highest package goes around 40 lakh CTC and an average of 18 lakhs CTC. My plans are to get an on-campus placement in a software company in SDE or SWE profile with a ctc of 8 lpa pr above.

My college is so big so campus life is so good
The faculty of our subject is so good
Placement is also good of on campus or off campus

Dislikes

Canteen is so much good because my college also 1 canteen
Lab is so much good of computer and electrical

The cource curriculum is the full 8 semester.and the faculty members all semesters differentbeacause of all semesters subject is different.so my current semester is 1st semesters so faculty member around 9

There are many clubs and student chapters in our college
They pay extra attention on sports and extra curricular activities.

Dislikes

The student teacher ratio could be improved.
Attendence system can be improved by implementing digital attendance system

Placement Experience:

From 7 th semester onwards, placement starts. Amazon, Microsoft, Nvidia, Discovery and many others Come for placements and nearly 900 offers are made. The highest package is 46lpa and the average is 14lpa. Nearly 90% of students get placed. I want to do a job at Google.

SVNIT- A place for engineers

Likes

The seniors are supportive and helping at each step
There is no ragging environment in the campus which is good
The food in canteen and mess is also great offering every types of dishes

Dislikes

There is no AC in classrooms which is bit problem in summer
There is a bit of competitive environment among peer groups
1st year students are not allowed to join any clubs

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course as I had interest in Hardware Processors. The faculties are very good and they help with each project and task we are working on and also for guidance normally there are 3 teachers for 1 subject for a class of 70. All faculty members are IIT alumni and very well experienced with teaching from PPT. There are 3 exams quiz midterms end terms And it was a bit difficult to study for the same but gradually I took guidance from faculties and got well.

Likes

Library, clubs, events , all events are conducted by students.
I am in NSS it is very interesting and interactive.
I love sports. Sports committee is good.

Dislikes

About hostel section not that good ,poor.
About intime of college most of the nits do not have intime.
Canteen is not good in our college. We don't get all food items.

Placement Experience:

In 7 the semester students get campus placement. In in 6 th semester, students get internships. The highest package in the year 2023 is 45 lakh per annum. And the least is 3 lakh per annum. The placement percentage depends on the branch.

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
