The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Thapar for you or not?

Likes

Campus is beautiful and people you meet here are awesome.
Placement is decent so there is no need to worry avoiding future if you are a little focused.

Dislikes

The coding environment is not good in our college it could be better.
Night restrictions make the campus life at night boring.

From 7th semester you can sit in placements but for internship you sit from 4th semester itself. There are lot of companies that visit our college including Apple,Goo,zomato,IBM ,JP morgan and chase ,BNY ,Barclays ,texas instruments, Bajaj and many more in my branch.80% students get placed in our branch.Some people go for further studies or in research some stick to the jop opportunities they have.

Life at Thapar

Likes

The hostels are comfortable and nice. The hostel process is good.
The mess food is good ! And they act on reviews
The social life at Patiala overall is quiet good.

Dislikes

Obviously the 75% attendance system is little tiring.
At times few semester can be overwhelming.
The in time is quiet strict in my opinion.

All you need to know as a first year student in Thapar University

Likes

Campus area, aesthetics, teaching method, Library
Hostel facilities, flexibility to roam outside the campus during given period of time
Mees food, and sports opportunity given to students

Dislikes

Fees structure and AC hostel not given to first years.

Placement Experience:

During the 6th semester students become eligible for placement rounds through campus. There are many reputated companies that visit Thapar university for placement and the offers made are all above 10-15 lakhs per annum. The highest package in Mechanical engineering is about 45 lakhs per annum that was given in this year only. Percentage of studnets getting placement is 100%. My plan is to pursue Masters abroad.

Thapar university (pros cons)

Likes

teachers are well with students, lectures are not so boring
hostel life is very good, roomates make it much better
boys:girls ratio is very good 53:47, pretty much compared to engg colleges

Dislikes

high fees is very main issue, people take loans
the expenses over here very high, every day

Placement Experience:

students are eleigible for campus placements after 5th semester, over 150 companies visit the campus. highest package offered is 45 lacs, and average for computer branches is 12lacs. over 94% students are well placed.

I have chosen chemical engineering because I want to pursue further in this subject. The teaching methods of many teachers are quite good but some are not able to teach students properly. Ithink that is due to their less experience in college.on the other side I want the teachers to ask students in every lecture about feedback of students in a friendly manner so that student find an ease with their teachers

Overall my campus is a very good college.

Likes

I like the campus. Mainly im into sports. And the nirvana park is very peaceful here.
We have a synthetic track here. It is fun to go to jogging here.
Sky walk is good with friends. We are having a good timepass.

Dislikes

I have nothing to dislike here. Everything is fine.
Just a little homesick. But it is manageable.
I came from far that's why i feel a little homesick.

Top companies like Amazon, Apple, DE Shaw, Arcesium, Media.Net, Paytm, Rapid, Oyo, Gameskraft, Synopsys, VMware, Cisco, Oracle, and MakeMyTrip visit the college to hire students. Overall, the placement ratio is good and high, and many final year students got selected for paid internships with a sufficient stipend.i will try for placement at high cost....

more open culture for students in this region is less acceptable by outside people.

from 3rd year, companies start visiting college to provide students internship oppertunities. every big company visit college. for example for computer engineering students, companies like microsoft, amazon, deloitte which provide number of offers and oppertunites to students. 70% of students are getting placed in this college. every talent and skill is recognised here.

One of the best private college in North india

Likes

Classroom and faculty interaction, Lab and research.
Seniors are very good and helpful. Societies etc
Sports faculties , Swimming pools , hostels and the nature of campus

Dislikes

Education fees is on a very higher side. Many students cant afford it
Relative grading system which is not in many college
Hostel timings are not good. U get a alter entry if you are out after 8 30 pm

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from the 7th semester. Various companies visit here like Google, Jp Morgan, TCS, and Wipro, and many offers are made. The highest package is 80L and the average is 11L. over 80% of students are placed here. after getting my degree I want to just get placed and work for the company.

Best private college : Thapar

College main gate entry timing which is 8:00pm
Boys & girls Hostel entry time which is 8:00pm ,
Too expensive , if you are from middle class so it will be a little hard for some things

Students become eligible after 5 semesters. Many companies visit here like Google hp jp Morgan etc. Right now the placements are going on so I don't even know. Around 80% of students get placed I am planning to have Higher studies in the future.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
