The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Thapar University worth the price

Likes

Campus is beautiful and provides good facilities.
Well equipped labs and infrastructure.
Mess food is good and seems hygienic. Availability of snacks too.

Dislikes

Hostels are costly and its pricing can be improved.
There should be tut classes for chemistry too
Datesheet should be released a little early

Placement Experience:

After 3rd year we get opportunity for Internships. Placement starts in 4th year as usual. The avg and median package is increasing ebery year. Its about 13 Lakh for CS and Computer Engineering and about 11Lakh overall. Some mahor companies like Apple and Microsoft also visits

Atmosphere around the campus for me is the best part
Friends I made their to spend time with .
Some good professors I met during my journey.

Tough competition between students between each other
Less restrictions on boy and girl being together
Huge amount of syllabus completed in very short time

Placements are good at Thapar. Almost every known company comes to Thapar for recruiting it Google apple microsoft and many more. High chances of being placed through campus only. The average package is 12 lpa while the median is 10 lpa. Probably 100 % of placements are rewarded.

South Indian in thapar

Likes

Their infrastructure is excellent, college events, and their curriculam.
Staff is also good highly qualified lecturers.
In the early morning the weather is excellent where you can peacocks.

Dislikes

Old hostel washrooms are too bad, you can't live.

In 3rd year you can get internships and placements with your CG, the top companies visit this college like Maruti Suzuki, zeolite, Accenture, hero, etc. The highest package is 50 LPA and the average is 6 LPA. Every year 95% of the students are placed.

The atmosphere, students and faculty also the curriculum is pretty decent.

Placement Experience:

Placements are pretty decent here and students start to get placed in or after their 7th sem, the average package around the start when top students get placed is around 21 lpa while the total average boils down to 14-16 lpa.

Thapar University : Best in Punjab ?

Likes

Campus is quite big and city of patiala and surroundings have lot to offer
Infrastructure is great. Hostels, Lecture Halls, Workshops etc.
The avaiability of different items is always there.

Dislikes

Hostel has restricted timings to enter. 8:30 in the evening.
Sports like Boxing and other martial arts are not a part of the sports at the campus.
Delievery is retricted at hostel after 11 pm at night.

Placement Experience:

We have a separate placement cell and center for the training and development of the students. The placements are decent with big tech firms like Blackrock, Apple, Microsoft, etc coming to campus. Non-tech roles are great too. Placements are quite good for core branches.

I think there is nothing that I dislike about but the fees of college that is too high
That every student cannot afford and the 50% Punjab quota of Punjab students
And the reservation system I don't like. Other than that every thing is good

Placement Experience:

The placements of thapar is amazing and there placements record is increasing year by year. From 5th semester students are eligible for internship opportunities and from 7th semester students are eligible for placements . There are 250+ companies visiting every year in thapar and this year more than 1700 students are placed. The highest package offered is more than 50 lacs and average package is 13 lac this year and more than 95% students placed this year. My plan is to do job in my dream company.

Thapar university, combination of academic and enjoyment

the environment here is amazing and the faculty also and extracurcculars are also well eqipped
the food here at the mess is amzing and mouth watering
the accomodation facility at the histel is himelike and very nce fir a freshrer

i didnt liked the boys to girls ratio here and it should have been more
the reservation herer for punjab students is nt a gidd desciiosn
day by day ualuty of students here is decreasing due to lower cutoffs and increasing no nof asqetads

placemnts are good but the real thing depends on the individual but still average package is 12 lpa as of now which is very good seeing the current trend in ecesssion and all , so you dont have tonwrooy much about the placemnts when yoa are at thapar

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Companies like Google, Microsoft, JP Morgan, and many other renowned companies visit here. The highest package is nearly 1crore provided and the average package is greater than 15 lakh per annum. 99% of students get placed here with a good package.

I am really not aware of the placement process but I guess it starts from 3rd year. Many companies but I didn't know them. I guess the highest package was 44 lakh but the average package was around 10 lakh. I am not aware of that.

Hostel facilities are better than other private colleges
Sport facilities and activites are very good here
The faculty here are well qualified and have phd from IIT AND NIT

Dislikes

Fee is being hiked every year which is not a good thing
The hostel in time is 8pm which is less comparitively

Course Curriculum Overview:

The faculty is very good and qualified. The gender ratio is very good. There many professors with PhD from IIT and they teach very proficiently. Mid sem exams were held in september 2023 the paper was moderately difficult.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
