The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Straight to the Point Review of the Thapar University.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose CSE because I'm fascinated by its reach and scope. What CS can offer in the future is literally unparalleled. There are a sufficient amount of faculty for students in the CS department. You'll never feel lacking in reaching out to professors. Faculty is both Ph.D. holders and assistant prof working for PHDs. Quite balanced no. of exams in a sem. And quite comfortable to pass, also if you are regular in your studies. You'll easily pass all the exams.

My internship experience

Placement Experience:

The Placements is the reason why people take admission here. Students are eligible in the 7th semester and most of the students of CSE are placed in the 7th semester only. Amazon, OYO, Paytm, Proptinger, BlackRock, GEP, MakeMyTrip, Delloite are some of the companies visited this year. 100% of the students of the CSE branch get placed every year. My plan after my Degree is to job which I will get in the next semester on-campus.

Thapar is a good premium institute with a nice placement records.

Placement Experience:

Campus placements start from the 7th semester. Although you can get an internship from starting of the 5th semester. Companies like Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Adobe, JP Morgon and many MNC's visit the campus. The average package at Thapar is around 6 to 8 lakh the highest of this year is around 30 lakh on amazon. The average placement percentage of Thapar is 95-98% which is pretty good.

Thapar University: A place to relive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I have chosen B.E because I have a very keen interest in learning the computer related technologies like AI, Algorithms, Machine learning etc so I decided to choose BTech. In my college around 1:30 is a teacher to student ratio. The faculty is highly qualified as most of the teachers have done PhD. They have a very good grasp of their topics but there was some lack in the practical lab sessions which our college needs to improve. The exams were not tough at all. There were some subjects which you didn't like but some subjects are also very interesting. So the subjects which were not so interesting I read previous year papers of them and get the important topics and it was a fair bit of easy deal for me to get the good marks and for other good subjects, I studied them and got great marks. So I used to start studying 1 month before my exam.

Placement Experience:

The placement ratio is very nice but there are very fewer companies coming for internships and some students get interned with 50 thousand to 1.5 lakh per month internship. Students get eligible for an internship in the 3rd year (5th semester) and for placement (4th year 7th semester). There are many companies visited like JP morgan chase & co. which gives around 14 lakh CTC and took around 70 students with them, etc. The highest package offer was around 50 lakh(Microsoft) and average around 8 lakh. Almost 90-95% of students get placed. After degree I want to work in some good MNC and gain experience to accelerate my career.

Placement Experience:

The highest package ranges from 40 to 44 lakh and avg. package of CSE branch ranges from 14LPA to 16 LPA. Almost more than 80% of my seniors have been placed in the 4th year of the CSE branch. Companies such ion, Microsoft, DE shaw, Optum, etc have visited this year for placement and internship opportunities. on campus internship opportunities start from 4 the year and placement opportunities start from 3rd year. My plan after getting a degree is to work in a product based company and later opt for a higher degree abroad.

Placement Experience:

Placements of college is much better than other colleges that's why more students attract towards this clg. But the main point is that ki there are many students in the campus in each & every field so that's the main issue else placement was good. Even the highest package goes around was 44 lac but will get more opportunities for off-campus after the degree of Thapar. After degree, I'm planning to go abroad

Placement Experience:

The placements are above average,36 lakhs is offered by Arcesium and Deshaw, Amazon also gave a hike and increased CTC to 44 lakhs which is the highest, and 9-10 lakhs being the average CTC for computer science branches. Many big companies visit the campus like DeShaw, Arcesium, Amazon, Deloitte, Samsung, Sabre, Amadeus, etc, especially this year there has been a boom, and a lot of new companies visited the campus. Almost 90% of students in CS-related branches are placed. For mechanica.l TATA and MARUTI visit the campus and hire in large numbers

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
