The college has opportunities of scholarships for students have family income less than 10 lakhs and the college is great helper in these cases
Computer engineering students enjoy excellent placement opportunities, whereas for other branch students, there are fewer companies specifically in the core biotechnology sector.
The campus infrastructure is one of the best thing, it's pretty, filled with beautiful buildings, comfortable classes fully air conditioned, greenery all around sports complex running lanes, during winters and autumn the weather is so pleasant here.

Dislikes

I understand that there is a placement cell available here, but recently, the placements have not been very good.
Some teachers are not good at teaching and problem here to to find a rrsouce to study the topic
Fees is very high here which is the worst part here .

Thapar_ The best Chapter of Life

Placement Experience:

placement is good in Thapar for the branches related to the computer and they are eligible criteria is depending upon the CG about 200 companies visited the campus and average package depends upon branch about 80% got placement in Thapar

from 7th semester. companies listed are Deloitte, jp morgan, shaporji palonji, collegedunia. highest was ranging about 32l and lowest 4l. more than 50% of the students get placed easily. to do the job after getting the degree.

Life @LMTSM more than a Student Life

Placement Experience:

Placements are average as mainly the school brings fresh start ups or the organization which have less than 10 years of experience. Some big companies also come in to provide placements as well. The best company which came in during my time was American Express and they were also offering a decent salary package to the employees. The highest package was INR 17 LPA and on average, the Salary which was offered was INR 5.5 LPA. Maximum of the students were placed with more than 90% placement. I also got placed in two good companies as well.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible from the 7th semester for campus placements. Many companies visit during this period for eg Bajaj, TATA, Maruti Suzuki, Asian paints, Thermax. The average package for mechanical engineering students is 5 lpa. 60-70%. I will do the job.

Placement Experience:

Eligibility differs from branch to branch, mechanical branches become eligible for placements from 7th semester, just after the semester of internship. Companies that came for placement are Bajaj, Asian Paints, Mahindra, Deloitte, Capgemini, Accenture, Tata consultancy services, Byjus, Max speciality films, Smart cubes, UOLO edtech, Skuad, Videojet, Infosys, Indosaw Industrial products pvt ltd, Siemens Digital Industries software, Absolutdata, Pristyn care, Fieldassist, JSW steels, ZS, JBM, Authbridge, Pine labs, Nestle, L&T, Jindal Steels, Advantage Club and snapdeal. Around 90% of my batch students got placement offer.

COE Vs other Branches

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester onwards students are eligible for placements, in 2020 around 100 companies appeared for placements, and the major offered profile during placement is Software developer. The highest package was 35LPA and the average was 8LPA. from COE branch 100% placement, ECE brach 70 % placement, and other non-circuit branches 30 % placement. My plan after the degree is to go for Foreign education.

The college provides an amazing opportunity for placements and internships from 3 year onwards provided that one is compatible and capable enough. The average package of TIET for CSE/COE is around 8.1 lakhs with an over 90% placement record

Placement Experience:

From 6th sem students can apply for a summer intern and from 7th sem students can apply for placements, a lot of companies come to the campus or visit the campus, but placement in average companies is most of the times luck based , last year 70% of total students from COE got placed.

Placement Experience:

Placements are always more than 90 percent with the highest package going around 40 LPA. Many companies visit the campus including the buzz ones like Deshaw, Amazon, Deloitte, SAP Labs and many more. There is a Center for Training and Development that prepares the students well for their placements. The only problem with placements is the number of students sitting for the CS branch Placements, it goes more than 1200 and bagging a decent placement with these many students is a difficult job.

Thapar University has a brand name, however, the ground reality for this university is not very pleasant and it is swiftly losing the qualities that defined it in its glorious past. The rankings of students enrolled in the university are going down each year. The administration is taking serious measures against the same, however, because of these measures the other students are suffering. One example is the strict entry and exit timings.

Academically, your experience in this institution will differ according to your branch. The CSE branch has a cooperative faculty and lenient attendance criteria. This is not the case for other branches. In other branches, some faculty members may hold personal grudges against you while some may fail you for missing the required attendance mark (75%) by as small as 0.1%. The mess is below average and the classrooms are not very impressive. The administration is very slow.

However, there are positive points about Thapar University as well. The alumni from Thapar are placed in some of the best companies in India and abroad. It has some of the best synthetic courts in any engineering college in India. There are many teachers at Thapar University who serve as a source of inspiration to their students. Sports facilities for all the major sports are great. Placements at Thapar University are great and the labs are well updated. Even though Thapar is facing a drug problem, its teachers and administration are very active in trying to solve this issue.

Thus, even though Thapar University has outlived its glorious days, it has some positive points too. It is completely your choice whether or not you wish to take admission into it.

Thapar University has better placements than most private colleges and NITs. But the problem is, placements here directly depend on the grades of the students, and only the serious ones who work hard to build their profile bag the best packages.

Now the reviews of students are mixed because not everyone invests the same efforts and bags high packages. The people giving bad reviews are the ones who did not build their resumes well.

The best thing about Thapar University is the level of freedom you get to experience here. However, the increasing intake is slowly deteriorating the student quality so you might want to consider this before joining.
