Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

The best IIT college for mechanical engineering

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the MS course from the Indian institute of technology Madras with a specialization in Mechanical engineering because I am also a student of mechanical engineering in my bachelor of technology. The faculty member available in this college are very-very highly qualified and well knowledged and the ratio is about 180 teachers. The College exams are following the semester exams pattern in which the students have to give the exams every semester to get promoted to the next sem and it is medium level hard to pass the exam.

The students become eligible for campus placements from the 7th semester and placements happen in the 8th semester. Companies from various industries visit, the number is around 250+, to recruit 900 candidates. The highest package is 80 Lakhs and the avaerage package is 12 Lakhs. 100% placements depending on the macroeconomic conditions.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I was always into programming and stuff since I was not able to get good percentile in jee i didn't get to take addmission in btech cse. When I saw this course and it's curriculum I knew I have to do this. Since it's an online course so student faculty ratio doesn't matter they can teach few thousand student at a single time through online platform like zoom,etc. Instructors are good, there is a discourse forum for ever subject you can ask your doubts there. Factual is good. There professor and there intructors have good teaching experience. They take review from student about the lecture and try to improve them. Then are two in person quiz and one end term exam and in programming course 1 in person quiz , 2 programming exam and 1 end term exam. If you study well and are able to spend around 20-25 hours a week then you will get good score maybe even S ( highest grade)

They get campus placements after the course. The companies visiting are Google, amazon, Uber, etc.The average CTC is around 22 lakh. The highest package is above 2 crores. More than 95 percent of students get placed in students who sit for placements. I plan to work in some data analyst job

Students are eligible for campus placement in their 4th year. Internships are available for 2nd and 3rd year students. Highest package: 2.1 Crore per annum Average package: 18 LPA 80-85 % students get placed My plans I don't know what I'll do after getting the degree.

Placement Experience:

Most of the students get placements. Generally, the offers made are more than the graduating students of that year. Some students get involved in startup culture before the placements. Placements go as higher as 1 crore per year and as low as 8 lakhs per year (usually core). For campus placement, you need to be in the pre-final year of college. From the track record of the placements team, last 3 years they have given up to 100% placements. This 100% is those people who applied for placements session. I plan to do a decent job and then switch to management.

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.

The online lectures are taught by experienced faculty members from IITM. What I found most interesting was the professors' distinct approach to teaching. The students are routinely assisted by committed and supportive staff.

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.

The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.

Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
