Dislikes

Placement Experience:

My college’s fully staffed Career Management Center, helped me to prepare for and seek internships, as well as post-graduation employment. Further graduates of my university were placed in top universities including Cisco, IBM, Wipro, Dell, Accenture, Titan, Google, and Amazon, offering attractive packages.

All through the placement semester, I had the opportunity to make relationships with final year students, who were simply batchmates who aided me greatly in this difficult process. Furthermore, the Job and Placement Centre supported us by properly educating all of us prior to bringing together people into the market as better professionals and individuals who contribute considerably to the. Almost everyone in my batch was hired for 4 lakhs. During our MBA location search, the real significant recruiters were McKinsey, Accenture, Dell, Amazon, APPLE, and HCL.

Placement Experience:

Our University has a best placement team and recruiters were in our batch, with over half of them being new. PeopleStrong, Cadila Pharmaceuticals, and IBM were the top recruiters in terms of offer conditions, with INR 26.5 LPA being the highest remuneration for our program. I got the interview cell guidance for the placement.

Atleast in the M.Sc. and M.Tech. courses, from the 3rd semester onwards students are eligible for registration to placements. The companies that recruit students are pfizer for the post of a senior associate scientist, HCL technologies, Genesys Telecom Labs India Pvt. Ltd for software engineer, Evertz for Graduate Engineer and the Tata Consultancy Services among many others. The packages typically range from 3K/ month to 1L/month depending on the job and company. Around 70% to 80% of the students get placed in the top companies each and every year. After the completion of my M.Sc. degree, I am personally keen to pursue a PhD in Chemistry and delve deeper into the extensive research carried out in this field of Science.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements in the final year. There are many big companies that come every year like Google, Microsoft, Amazon etc. The highest package for the CS department will go to above 1 crore per annum and the average package is 24 lakh per annum. For the Chemical department, the Highest package will be around 50 lakh and the average package is 12 lakh per annum. The placements percentage in IIT Madras is usually high.

IITM- lovely place to come in

Placement Experience:

Placements in the campus are very good. Form semester 7 ie from the start of 4th year students are eligible for Placements. This year there were almost 280 to 300 companies that came to ur campus and almost 80 percent of the students got placed. Highest package was 1 crore 20 lakhs and average package is around 18 lakhs. Iam thinking to pursue MBA after degree

Remembering my IIT days od Madras

Placement Experience:

I had the opportunity to create relationships with the postgraduates, who were simply in the college who aided me greatly in this difficult process. The training and placement cell at IIT Madras takes care of the internship and placement of the candidate after graduation. The recruiters visiting the campus for placements are Microsoft, Apple, Intel, JP Morgan Chase, Samsung, HSBC, BCG, Morgan Stanley, Flipkart, Citibank, Jaguar, Amazon, blackbuck, Honeywell, AirBus, p & g, RBS, Cisco, Deloitte, standard chartered, Bain and company, Google, Wells Fargo, MasterCard, ITC, Finmechanics. It has a record of 100% placement, Aryan 27 students secured a package of INR 1 crore. American express and Microsoft word are some of the top recruiters. The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.

The online lectures are taught by experienced faculty members from IITM. What I found most interesting was the professors' distinct approach to teaching. The students are routinely assisted by committed and supportive staff.

IIT Madras has undertaken a unique approach to imparting their expertise in the highly demanded field of Data Science.

What are your thoughts on IIT Madras offering a bachelor's degree/diploma online?

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.

The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.

Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
