Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

There is a placement percentage of almost 90 every year. Different multinational companies like Amazon, Google, Goldman Sachs, and Microsoft, come and offer vast no of job offers. Packages range from 10LPA to 90LPA. Some time a crore package is also possible

From the 6th semester, students got eligible for placement. Google, Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Amazon, etc like big companies come for placement.100% placement. I plan to get into any one of the companies after completing my degree.

The life of a engineering in IIT

Placement Experience:

The students gets internships from fourth semester. The placements begins from third year onwards. There are several MNCs like Google, Microsoft which comes campus drive recruitment. The highest package can be over 1 crore for atleast 5 students a year

Placement Experience:

In the 7th semester starting one has to register in the placement portal and upload a resume and register to the companies available in the portal ISRO, IOCL, HUL and many more. Depending on the company highest package is decided. Most people after getting a degree join placement companies and some go for higher studies

Review of IIT Madras online degree BSC Program in Programming and Data Science

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because of the Fine courses by IIT Faculty. It's an online degree so pre-recorded video lectures are published so no question of Students teachers ratio. There is one exam at each month's end depending on the number of courses you have registered for. Exams are rigorous and you have to study but on the helping hand they provide various live sessions practice assignments and graded assignments that help in the preparation for the exam.

students are eligible in their 7th semester for campus placement. Many MNCs like google Microsoft Goldman JPMorgan etc visit every year. the highest package in 2021 is around 2cr and the average package is 25 lakh out of all companies that visited. percentage of placement for cse branch is 100%. I've decided to work for an MNC after getting a degree.

From 4th semester students are eligible to sit for campus placement. Global foundries, Samsung, Qualcomm, intel are major companies. Also offers around 45 lakhs a average will be around 20 to 25 lakhs.90 percentage of students will be placed. Getting into industry is my plan.

Placement Experience:

Top recruiters participated in the push for our MBA class, including McKinsey, Accenture, Dell, EMCO, RBS, CHALO, GE, CISCO, Amazon, IBM, and HCL. My cohort received employment offers from 24 leading firms, resulting in a placement rate of 100 percent. My batch's average compensation package was about 14.4 lakhs, with the highest salary package above 22 lakhs which was acceptable from here.

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.

The online lectures are taught by experienced faculty members from IITM. What I found most interesting was the professors' distinct approach to teaching. The students are routinely assisted by committed and supportive staff.

IIT Madras has undertaken a unique approach to imparting their expertise in the highly demanded field of Data Science.

What are your thoughts on IIT Madras offering a bachelor's degree/diploma online?

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.

The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.

Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
