Dislikes

Girls to boys ratio is very less especially in branches like civil and mechanical.However, it is improving right now due to 10% reservation for girls in IITs. ~ Akaash R, B.Tech

Life at IIT Madras

Placement Experience:

In my batch, 135 pre-placement offers were made to the students and by this number you can analyze the success of placements at IIT every year. Rs. 22 LPA was the highest CTC offered to the students. Some of the companies that pick up students from IIT are American Express, Microsoft India Pvt. Ltd., Bajaj Auto Ltd., EXL Service, IQVIA, Goldman Sachs, ICICI Bank, L&T, Amazon, Deloitte India, Raukten Mobile, Tiger AI, Axis Bank, Bain & Company, EY India, Intel .

International opportunity at IITM

Placement Experience:

As going by the name IITs almost have a record of 100% placements and people are offered at least 1 job is mostly what I have seen. The number of companies who visit here is really very large and the number keeps on growing every year. The highest package goes into crores and the average package would be around 10 to 15 lakhs. People who opt for higher studies do not sit for placements and people who sat for placements are mostly offered a job. I personally haven't thought about whether I would be sitting for placements or opting for higher studies.

IIT Madras Review

Placement Experience:

The college is one of the best colleges in terms of placement. The college provides you with one of the best returns on investment. The college placement committee is very helpful and they are able to attract good companies for placement drive. The highest package for our batch went up to 65 LPA and the average package stands around 21 LPA. Most of the students receive pre-placement offers during their internship program. I also received a package of 25 LPA from Qualcomm. Companies like Qualcomm, Microsoft, Honeywell, Texas Instruments, Goldman Sachs, American Express, L&T, Deloitte, Amazon, Raukten Mobile, etc visited our campus during the placement drive of the college.

The Career and Placement Center helped us by professionally educating us before integrating us into the industry as better professionals and individuals who make a significant contribution. During the placement semester, I had the opportunity to interact with graduating students, who were recently graduated seniors/batchmates who were extremely helpful to me throughout this difficult process. Almost everyone in my class was hired, with an average salary package of 14.40 lakhs. During our MBA placement drive, key recruiters included McKinsey, Accenture, Dell, Amazon, IBM, and HCL.

IIT Mardras MBA review

Placement Experience:

The placement rate is great in this college. Last year placement rate was 96.5% and the second last year it was around 94.7%. In my batch, the most noteworthy bundle of a student was 14 LPA and the least bundle was 6.5 LPA and the most noteworthy bundle is 9.5 LPA and the least was 5.6 LPA. The top companies that recruited us for placements are Microsoft, HCL, Citi Bank, Mahindra, Tata, Wipro, Google, etc. Currently, I am working with Flipkart as a full-time employee and got placed because of my 3-month internship with them.

approximately 85% students get placed with highest package of 24LPA and average package around 5LPA. some of the students who doesn't get placed, goes for higher studies. overall placement cell is good and package are attractive.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I want to go into civil services so i choose civil engineering. We are 120 students in our branch and 30 faculty members. Every faculty member had B. Tech + m. Tech + PhD degree. We have 3 main exam. It's not very difficult to pass the exams. It's quite simple .

Development Studies at IIT Madras

Placement Experience:

For students of HS the placements are quite hazy. Around 10 ppl out of 46 gets placed every year. Mostly in consulting/ Marketing/ Research orgs/ Development sector. The pay range is mostly between 4-12 LPA. The placement scenario as such is not great and most people try for further studies.

The online Data Science program at IIT Madras is a great opportunity for someone who can not attend regular college because of financial constraints, illness, or other reasons. The online BS in Data Science and Application allows students to gain knowledge of this field from one of the most reputed engineering colleges in India.

The online lectures are taught by experienced faculty members from IITM. What I found most interesting was the professors' distinct approach to teaching. The students are routinely assisted by committed and supportive staff.

IIT Madras has undertaken a unique approach to imparting their expertise in the highly demanded field of Data Science.

What are your thoughts on IIT Madras offering a bachelor's degree/diploma online?

It is a full-time degree or diploma and so it will have more value than online. But if we compare IIT Madras’ online degree or diploma with any other college’s then it is better.

The duration of the course is 3 years. The mode of training is online, the lectures are mostly recorded and partly live sessions.

Whether the course will be good or not that depends on what subject you are planning to pursue. If you opt for a subject related to technology, then it is not a good option. This is because technology cannot be learned through books or audiovisual. It requires you to be present in the field to gain experience and knowledge.
