It is a great residential college and truly imbibe culture of engineering and Well as overall development of individual. Also student power is incomparable as compared to other engineering colleges.

Remarks:
IIT Kanpur in itself is a mini city. We don't have to go out of the campus for anything we need. Food facilities are great. We even have a Dominos outlet inside. The open air theatre is a great place to hangout, which is open for students 24x7.
Various clubs bring out the best skills in people. We have a club for any hobby a person might have.

Remarks:
Nothing is negative here. All the facilities which is needed for a student is available here. The campus is green. A huge number of trees make the environment very nice. Also a huge number of peacocks stays here.

Remarks:
The only negative remark I can think of is the even grading system which makes it difficult for many students to maintain a good CPI.Apart from that IIT Kanpur provide a great paltform to explore and pursue once interest and open up ample of career opportunities for the students and above all that a four years of life worth remembering.

Admission:
Though JEE-ADVANCED a national eligibility test to get admission in institute of national importance.Placements in our college are excellent. There are lots of job and internship opportunities for students. CSE branch placement this year was 100%. The highest package was 1.39 crores per annum. Average package was around 25 LPA. Google, Facebook, Microsoft, and many good companies like them are our major recruiters.

Remarks:
It is a highly esteemed college in India. Students give two-three years of their lives to get into such a college. It is only the luck and determination of students that gets them here. Getting admission here is no less than an achievement itself. However, like all other government things in India, the facilities are somewhere not upto he mark. College is failing in he recent years to deliver the result it is expected. Hope this situation improves soon.

It is one the best technical colleges in the country and also equally difficult to get in. Some of the finest brains of the country study here. Our college is also the torch bearer of research and academics in the country.

Remarks:
Academic pressure on students is much higher. Also scoring cumulative GPA above 8.5 is quiet difficult here. So chances to do post graduation in ivy league schools becomes difficult because of low cumulative GPA. Overall campus of our college provides the best experience.

Remarks:
There are always two sides of the coin. Students here can also fall into a phase of depression due to high competitions and challenges faced here. They can also fall drug or alcohol usage. Besides all such things, positivity in the campus will always remain at its peak. Many fun filled activities are conducted in the campus which motivates students and help them fulfill their goals.

Positive- This is the best which we can have in India and yeah we are steadily improving but only if there are less interventions from Government. Negative- Yes, I agree IITs are still behind to compete with colleges at international level. We have very less scope in Core Engineering Fields. Research quality is far too low.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
