I have some positive and some negative remarks about my college as when it comes to the positive remark then their is no way to say bad tging about college as there are so many facilities available in campus whatever you want but on the other hand if you ask me negative remark I am not satisfied with the grading policy.

The college overall is pretty good. Academics are pretty hectic and your lifestyle can become a bit monotonous sometimes. The various clubs organize various activities to help you pursue your passion.

No negative as it is one of finest college in india. No negative thing can be said for iit kanpur. Previously ragging was the issue but now it is also dimished to a larger extent. So you can say any wrong facts about it.

The postive remark are that-
Students get all the opportunity regarding their academic/ sports life. Library are open till mid night so that person can study till 12 mid night.
Negative remarks are-
Grading are of even system that is 10/8/6/4/2/0
Faculty are sometimes doesn't tech well.

Remarks:
In campus transportation is through only cycle. Only cycles are allowed for students. Hostels are very facilitative and have good infrastructure. The hostel rent is charged along with the semester fee.

My college is a great place to come to at this age group as the opportunities it provides helps in shaping ourselves as better personalities the real world and raising our carrer to the peak.
The administration body is very active and fast. Also in most of the councils, student representatives have been elected to listen to and understand the issues related to campus and its residents which also gives an exposure to the students to handle the positions of responsibilty.

College is very nice, everything here is awesome. There is a very nice counseling service in IIT Kanpur which is there for every student with any kind of depression or anxiety. Also, it provides a student guide to every student which is there to provide any kind of help.

It’s a good place to meet like- minded people and learn and grow together. The campus community forms a close knit group and you make friends for life here. The campus, the people and this life has made a stronger and confident person. If there is anything such as a single defining feature of IIT-Kanpur, it is liberty. You don't have LAN bans, download limits, compulsory attendance (except in some courses where it is a small percentage (5-10%) of the overall course weightage), no fixed time by which you should be in the campus etc. There is no dress code (students frequently come to lectures, project demos etc. in tees and shorts). Boys are allowed in girls' hostels and vice-versa until 12AM, and you are free to go to your friend's room in such cases.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
