Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

i liked my hostel rooms and the comfortable in my hall which college provided.
the security which provided to 1st year student.
the lecture hall and equipment for teaching which college provides to the professor for better understanding.

Dislikes

the mess food of my hostel because mess is really mess.
4th year hostel are renovated that i most disliked.
night mess or canteen is not present in our college.

Placement Experience:

The 7-semester student is eligible for campus placement in our college. most visited company is MICROSOFT, AMAZON, WELLS FARGO, etc. Microsoft offers 10-15 students. in our college, according to the 2023 placement record 89 percent is an overall placement record.

The percentage of placement is good and everyone like ninety per cent gets the the placement, internships etc. yet others opt for higher studies and all, overall the placement and every other is good and worth it.

Mainy I like there facilities which are regularly take s class.
Second thing campus is so good and it is middle of city.
Hostel quality are best .these are so beautiful and comfortable.

I don't like there food . Because I belong to veg category.at there non veg Is so good.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Here the teachers are so good special from my branch. I am from the mechanical engineering branch teacher explained pistons practical way in class room which is so beautiful thing. I like it so very well. The mechanical engineering branch is the Power full branch in the core sector.

Why you should join NIT Durgapur

Placement Experience:

Placement season starts from final year. Companies such as Microsoft, Texas instruments, Cisco, Amazon, Wells Fargo and many top companies visit here for placement. Average package is around 15 LPA and 85-90% students are placed from every branch.

NIT Durgapur # The reality

Likes

The campus is amazing and my college friends make it more enjoyable
The faculties are exceptionally great and helpful
Placement is also moderate and many students are selected

Dislikes

The course curriculum for 1st year is to be redesigned
1st year may seem to be hell and feels like you are in captivity.
The interaction between the seniors and juniors is quite low.

Placement Experience:

After the 3rd Year I mean the 5th or 6th semester the students are eligible for placement or internship. There are many companies like BHEL, Haldia petrochemicals, PWC, Vedanta, and HP gas visiting to recruit. As per my source, the highest package for chemical engineering is 14 lpa. An average of 80 per cent of the students are placed.

Lit life in NITDgp

The serene environment of the campus is the first thing I fell in love with.
Campus life is too much fun.
I was pretty impressed by the placement of my college.

Dislikes

Exhausting extra classes at the time of examinations are very hard to attend to.
The attendance criteria of 75% is very hard to reach to.

Placement Experience:

Since the National institute of Technology Durgapur is one of the top 10 NITs in India, we have a very hard-working TNP cell. Our average package is around 16LPA. Even the core departments like metallurgy and materials science have 91% placement in our college.

Campus life is good but 1st years have a lot of restrictions but subsequent years are linient.
Liked the huge campus and the hostel facililties.
The ground facilities. There are 2 playing grounds Ovals and Lords.

Dislikes

There is a pond which is never cleaned and mantained.
Quiet high academic pressure and you have to study hard enough to score well.
The 75% attendance criteria is mandatory for attending exams.

From the 7th semester, the students are eligible for on-campus placements. Companies such as TCS Ninja, AMAZON, COGNIZANT, MICROSOFT, etc. come for recruitment. The highest package is 70 LPA and the average placement of B-Tech is 12 LPA. 85% of students got placement according to recent data. After completing my B-Tech degree I will opt for Master or M-Tech.

Placement Experience:

The on-campus placement process starts in your final year and you can apply to the company of your choice. The highest package offered last year was 56 LPA and the average package is around 14 LPA. Almost all students get placed here. I'm planning to go for higher studies after my degree completion

My journey with chemistry

I like the general atmosphere in the campus, and it provides a way for oneself to harbour their intellectual growth. The campus is filled eith greenery, and taking night walks is enjoyable along the long roads.
The people studying here are very nice, and the seniors have guided me in every step of the process.
The faculty of our department is very highly educated, and each of our professors are stalwarts in their research domains. Many of our professors are beneficiaries of several government grants.

Dislikes

The mess food quality could be much better, but I guess that can be excused because the food is prepared for a large number of students in our canteen.
The senior hostels, mainly Hall 9, lack many basic facilities that would be expected from a national college. Hall 9 does not have covered almirahs, and we are forced to keep our items in the open, which is quite unhygienic and insecure.
The research facilities of the college are still underfunded. Although that might change with the inauguration of the Vikas Bhawan, which is said to solely focus on research.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose to study a pure science course in an engineering college because I wanted to pursue my dream of studying chemistry. I left a computer science course at KIIT Bhubaneswar for this course. The faculty-student ratio is around 1 for the Department of Chemistry. Each and every one of our faculty is very highly educated, and each faculty is a stalwart in their respective fields. Term exams are conducted according to a strict schedule, and all of us are constantly engaged in some activities.

NIT at its best

Faculty,opportunities,open mindedness ,club activities fests.

Dislikes

Span between semesters is less,many syllabus may be huge or medium depending on semesters....holidays are very less except for summer and winter vacation.

Placement Experience:

Placemets are quite good on the campus nit Durgapur specially trains and encourages the students to sit for internships and placements. A student is eligible to sit for internships at the beginning of the third and placements from the beginning of the final year. a student can manage to get a PPO after completing the internship in the 3rd which is also encouraged by the student. The other criteria regarding to placements and internship is quite well-defined on the NIT DGPS website.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
