Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Well JEE Mains is the only way to get into my college.But there is special counselling process for residents of Andaman and Nicobar and seats are reserved for the same along with OBC,SC,ST

There is a Josaa admission process and then we have to go to college in person and submit all the essential documents and a id card will be given and a proper section is alloted for a student.

I have to go through JEE mains entrance exam for getting into this institute which comprised of 90 mcq question from physics , chemistry and biology.The questions were from our class 12 boards syllabus and I prepared for this examination by taking coaching from a nearby institute

Admission:

As for the Btech students no interview or group discussion was there , students were alloted seat on the basis of their ranks. The written test is actually JEE MAINS which is not so easy exam and has 30 question each from Physics Chemistry and Mathematics from the whole syllabus of class 11 and 12 . A very good amount of preparation is required for cracking the exam with decent rank to get into the institute which is currently 6 th among all NITs

Nit Durgapur college review

Admission:

I have face jee main exam. There cutoff persentile to get this college for general 93 persentile. In jee main exam there is 3 subject s Physics chemistry and mathematics.

Placement Experience:

Our branch average package is 8.25 LPA in 2021. For cse it's 16.86 LPA. Overall average package is 8.5 LPA. Overall highest package is 44 LPA. Our branch highest package is around 12 LPA. For admission in BTech program you need to pass JEE Main entrance exam and after that you have to go through josaa councelling round to be eligible to get seat

Perspective's View

Admission:

For the admission in NIT Durgapur. The student has to clear Joint Entrance Examination Mains with good percentile.There are no Group Discussion Rounds or interviews but the candidate has to go through a counselling namely JoSAA counselling to select the college and its various branches.To clear the JEE Mains the students have to study the 11th and 12th Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics very well to get a pragmatic score.There are 25 questions in each phy, chem, maths. Each question is of +4 for right answer and -1 for each wrong option chosen.

Admission:

In getting into NIT Durgapur there was nothing required the only criteria to get into this college is to have sufficient JEE MAINS score and eligibility criteria of that is 75% in science and maths CBSE science includes physics chemistry and maths and that's it this is the only criteria for general category students

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
