Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Life at NIT Durgapur

Admission:

Admission will be done on the basics of your score in JEE Main exam. The syllabus of JEE Main include class 12th level Physics Chemistry and Mathematics.JEE is one of the most prestigious exam of India and one of the most hardest exam. You have to study sincerely in class 11th and 12th to qualify and score good

Admission:

I came into this college after clearing jee mains exam. The counselling process was very smooth. My papers and documents were checked properly and then only my admission was certified. I didn't face any kind of interviews or gd for the admission process

An institute worth joining

Admission:

I had to appear in the joint entrance examination main ( JEE main) to acquire admission in this institute. I took coaching classes for 3 subjects to prepare for these examinations. 5-6 hours of self study is required per day for almost 2 years to qualify this examination and secure a good rank.

JEE mainsJEE Main is an entry-level exam with a lower level of difficulty. It comprises of two papers. The Paper 1 is conducted for admission to Undergraduate Engineering Programs at NITs, IIITs, CFTIs and other prestigious institutions. All About NIT DURGAPUR

Admission:

No GD , Interview but there was a written test the 2nd most prestigious examination after UPSC i.e., JEE MAINS. The process is quite simple the aspirants get ample of chances to crack the examination. We just have to sit for the examination score some good marks and then just after sit for JOSSA councelling and there you go.

missing college life

Admission:

No, there wasn't any group discussion or interview but we had a MCQ online based examination. it was JEE Mains which score is considered while taking admission in this college. Admission process was very simple, firstly we need to qualify the required cut off the college from JEE mains score. then we can apply and admission process is fully online which is safe as well easier. for jee mains the eligibility criteria is 12th pass out or appearing in 12th. we prepare for these examinations by solving recommended books and revising using previous year question banks.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
