UIET Chandigarh Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

The course is divided in proper and enough manner for a semester as there are 2 minor exams of 30 marks but only best of them is calculated 20 marks for internals and 50 marks for the major exam at the end of semester practical carry 50 marks about faculty -it depends upon the subject, lectures were held, each lecture of 45 to 60 minutes. students are divided into two groups each group consists of 20-25 students generally teachers are Ph.D. qualified they clarify every doubt.

Previous year the college receive an average placement of 6.9lac/yr and the highest package of 42 lac from Microsoft. From 3rd Students started to apply for the internship. Almost 40+ companies visited previous years, like Amazon, Samsung, Deloitte etc. My plan is to get internship 3rd year and join a good MNC for my job.

There is no Home state reservation in this college. The faculty of the are very good and they very cooperative with the student. Most of the faculty are from IITs. All semester exams are held on time, two semester in a year.

If you have potential you will definitely grab a decent package of 6-8 LPA which is actually possible in UIET. Most of the companies allow you for tech placements if you have more than 7.5 CG or even 7 CG. All branches are allowed in maximum companies leaving some which actually give preference to CSE & IT. 2020-21 On Campus placement drive total offers : American Express- 9 Deloitte- 52 KPMG- 33 Cognizant- 72 Optum-UHG -10 ZScaler- 6 ZS Associates- 23 Paytm - 3 PolicyBazaar-4 Now comes off campus students got selected in flipkart, Amazon, Google, myntra, wallmart. So the thing is you will definitely grab a placement offer but you need to prepare well for it. There are past recruiters like- motorola, havells , samsung , Phillips, wallmart,hp Average package - 6.96 LPA (2020-21) placement session. Total 315 offers and 59 companies visited campus .

Almost all top companies come to college. The placement percentage is very good. It is above 85 percent. The highest package is 41 lakh by Wipro. Students become eligible for campus placement after the 6th semester

The placement of CSE/ IT students is good with avg package of 7 LPA and the highest package of 15 LPA in 2021 but for other branches, it is not so good. Although those students learn coding themselves and take decent packages The previous year, some students also grabbed 40 LPA packages. Many mass recruiting companies and some good companies visit here. A good thing is that UIET Hoshiarpur students get opportunities to sit with it Chandigarh students in placements. Almost 40% of students grabbed internships in 2-3 years.

6 sem students are eligible for placement. Companies like Wipro, IBM, TCS, Infosys HP visit college. The highest on-campus CTC was 14 lakh last year and the average CTC for cse/it is 6 lakh. In cs/it 90% of students get placed but for ece and mech. It's quite low. I will go for off campus placement

There are 121 students in IT branch and the number of placements in the year 2021-22 is 96 out of 121. Highest package was of 29lpa from google by off campus placement and 4 students got 31 lpa from amazon on-campus placement. The average placement has slightly increased from 6.35lpa to 6.45lpa. Top recruiters are amazon, paytm, deloitte, cognizant, infosys, zs scaler.. Many students get internships but for good companies student generally apply off campus. Some of the roles are data analyst, software developer, web developer.

I think from the third year the students become eligible for placements and the average package is also good. For my branch that is cse, the average package is 8 lacks from last year's data. The placement is 100 percent in the CSE branch.

Pre COVID the placement for mechanical was low. I couldn't say what will happen now. But CSE IT ECE they always had the best placements, 90% of students do get place through the campus placement. Highest has gone to 18 lpa. For the mechanical, post COVID I believe it will be a great challenge. But Chandigarh is a city full of opportunities so you can find a way for yourself.
