Your Average Guy's College Experience

Likes

Most of the teachers are really good. They make classes interesting for students.

Dislikes

The wifi connectivity is inconsistent depending on the location.
Some of the tables and chairs in classrooms are too old.

Placement Experience:

Students regularly get employment through campus placements. It generally starts in the third year. Companies like Bain, Deloitte, KPMG, etc visit the college and provide students with offers. The highest package of last year was around 21 LPA and on average students get offered with 8-10 LPA.

The college is very well connected via public transportation bus and metro stations are very close
The teachers are very helpful and actually caring about students

Dislikes

Lack of air conditioners as the college becomes really hot and humid in summers

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course can be a little bit too, overwhelming as the curriculum is really outdated as compare to what skills are required in the real world, but the introduction of SEC and VAC subjects have really helped add value to the course

From 5th semester student are eligible to sit for campus placement . The placement cell of Sri Venkateswara College is good and brings some big names like big 4 for placement The highest package was around 24+LPA and average is around 7-8 LPA for a variety of courses . I plan to start working after my degree and have plans to pursue masters after some work experience

Good faculty, teachers are learned, good course structure
Good placement opportunies from big 4 bcg oxane etc
Good fest exposure, and many cultural events

Dislikes

Boy to girl ratio is not equal, higher for boys

I wanted to choose this course as it has a holistic curriculum and gives various opportunities after graduation. We can have more practical based teaching instead of theoritical so that it can become easier to grasp

A well balanced academic journey

Likes

Green campus, active placement cell, strong South Campus vibe, and top-tier Statistics faculty.
The college is literally a 2-minute walk from the Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus Metro Station, making the commute incredibly easy compared to many North Campus colleges.

Dislikes

Slow administration , and some classes have poor infrastructure

I think the BSc Statistics (H) offered by Sri Venkateshwara College has been quite relevant and comprehensive in content. The core courses such as probability, inference, regression, and econometrics were the major reasons for opting for the subject of statistics. It provides us in-depth analytical training that is necessary for higher education and work in the field of data, though there is a need for exposure to software/tools as well. Likes

Administration is very good they listen to everything.
Timetable is prepared very wisely and with proper coordination.
There are lot of trees and gardens in the campus.

Dislikes

There is a lot of network problem. WiFi doesn’t work.

The exams are set very well keeping in mind student's stress management along with the syllabus. The syllabus helps in understanding the real world business and finance problems which results in helping the students in future.

The beauty of college

Likes

The faculty is highly trained consisting of majorly doctorates in their fields , also high experience
The infrastructure is nice and there are other facilities too including wheelchair facility etc
Inclusivity is what makes my college standout, you will find people from every background here

Dislikes

Still traditional learning ways and curriculum, should be changed

The placements of my college are good as far as i have heard with an average package of around 6-7 lakh per annum which is good considering the annual fee of 22,000 they charge . Apart from college placement DU has a brand value that attracts job offers and good one . Rest all depends on your skill set and what all you have to offer

Things that I liked in my college is the atmosphere of campus, people here are helpful and interactive
Various opportunities are available in college
Faculty is good, cooperative and helpful

Infrastructure is not so good some benches are broken
Water cooler are sometimes not cleaned properly
There is no properly built auditorium in my college

I choose this course because of how vast it's scope is. Curriculum prepare us for real world applications by connecting our teachings with real world situations do that we can imply our teachings in real life. According to me exam difficulty level is moderate to little tough with practice good marks can be scored but we usually don't get time to prepare due to certain activities like frequent assignment, seminar, tests etc which don't have that much relevance

Life at Venky

I like the campus like greenery and animals. The campus environment is very lively and engaging.
Obviously the college fests. NEXUS is the most popular fest in the whole delhi university. There is always societies fest going on college which makes the whole day alive.
College societies are the best if you are someone who is introvert at first then i recommend go and join as much as societies they are very friendly and you'll definitely gain confidence and exposure.

Dislikes

Some professors are very rude and they do not lisen to you or solve your doubt. There is some biasness as well so you have to always stay in touch with the professors.

Placement Experience:

In SVC students become eligible for placement from the start of 3rd year. Recruiters like Deloitte, KPMG, Genpact etc. Companies comes to SVC and select students on the basis of their selection process. Generally applications round, group discussions and interview happen. The avergae placement package of our college is 5 LPA and till now the hightest is 15 LPA. Some students go for placements but some go for CA or MBA or any professional course. My plans after getting my degree is getting into Banking sector as i am preparing for Grade B exam.

My cousin was a student of Mathematics at Sri Venkateswara College. Based on her experience in the same I will list down some key features of the college:

Faculty- The faculty of this college is without that the best. The professors of Mathematics and even other courses will make you fall in love with the subject. Just stay committed to your course.
Infrastructure- Since you will spend a few years in college, infrastructure matters a lot. Classrooms are well-designed and laboratories are well-equipped. Hostel accommodation is provided for the topper of each course. A new science block is being constructed to add to its infrastructure.
Extracurricular activities- If you are a student here, you will get enough exposure to develop your personality. Apart from academics, this college has a list of glamour studded societies in every field.
Placements- The science students get lesser opportunities as compared to others. A package of around 5-6 LPA is offered to Economic students.
Nexus- This is the most awaited cultural fest of the college. It’s a 3-day fest with a list of versatile activities. It’s the most glamorous event in the college.
Sports- The college has a lush green field with a modern cricket pitch. It also has teams in almost every game like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Chess, Athletics, Squash.
