Life at venky

My college is very affordable as compared to other universities. The fees is around 17990 and it provides a good curriculum as well for students to grown and thrive
The campus is pretty huge and is very well maintained. It’s very clean with greenery everywhere. Admin takes good care of university property and provides us with top class services
The syllabus prepares us for real world scenarios. The learning experience is very enriching.

Dislikes

The food in campus is very average and not very delicious

Placement Experience:

The students become eligible to sit in placements from 5th semester. College has a great placement program over 200 companies come to campus. The average package is from 5 lakh and the highest package is around 18 lakh. Popular companies like ey, Bain. De shaw, zomato, pwc etc visit the campus. They normally hire minimum 5 students from different courses. Almost 60% students get placement. My aim is to also get a good campus placement.

A review of my college

Likes

The infrastructure was very good that supported environmental friendly habits.
The faculty was very supportive and helped throughout the course in guiding the students for various activites.
The course was complemented with several workshops and seminars to add on to the subject knowledge.

Placement Experience:

The placements start in the third year. Their is a dedicated placement cell, that hosts several webinars, seminars and also share intenrhsip opportunities to the students at regular intervals to hone their skills. The course along with the efforts of the placment cell makes the students eligible and competent to sit for the placements in their final year. The packages vary from 3-22 lpa based on the course and the skills. Most of the students looking for the placements are able to get the jobs. Many look forward to clearing competetive exams or go for higher education.

Course Curriculum Overview:

the curiclum of the course is satisfactory. i chose this course as i have interest in electronics, yes this course prepares studets for real world applications. the exams are held first at the mid of semester which are internal exams containing 25 marks and other is end semester exams the difficulty level is moderate.

Likes

Quality Education with High-skilled Professors
The cafeteria and their food: you are definitely going to miss it even after graduation
Fest, Events, Seminars and lot of recreational activities

Dislikes

Infrastructure is something I did not like. Though it was okay, but at my time, there was lot of construction work going on.
Admin Staff; I found them very strict and adamant, but sometimes cooperative

Placement Experience:

The placment cell of SVC is quite impressive and helpful. Not each college of DU has such helpful and valuable cell that keenly helps you with the placements. A number of students got placed during my tenure and that too with a valuable package. The avaerage package is around 4 to 8 LPA. Tier 1 Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, PwC, and more actively recruit students from Sri Venkateswara College. The placement procedure is well structured, providing students with solid base to build up their careers.

COMPLETE GUIDE FOR SRI VENKATESWARA COLLEGE, DU.

Likes

This college provides a good exposure to amazing opportunities. The campus has a big ground which provides good space for fests which happen quite frequently.
Along with the ground, the campus also has a cricket practicing area, basketball court, a badminton court and an open gym. The college also has play room where we can play board games that are definitely in good condition.
The faculty helps around a lot especially science faculty. Teachers have good knowledge and provide good career advice.

Dislikes

The college canteen doesn't have good hygiene. The food is nice but the plates are kept everywhere and a lot of times campus dog were found licking the plates.
The sciences labs are quite outdated. Some classes have very tiny space and sometimes student have to adjust to sit.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is aligned to the subjects relevance. The practicals and theory are perfectly aligned to the course. The practicals do prepare us for real world application, we work in lab like we'd work in an actual lab with proper discipline and instructions. The improvement could be less use of powerpoint presentations and more board learning. In DU some courses like Ability Enhancement Course (AEC) in which we are taught language or EVS doesn't seems relevant. The level of difficulty is moderate in theory exams and practical exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This it the college is best in the south campus and even better than many north campus colleges. The curriculum prepares the students for real world applications. The exams are conducted in odd semesters during December and January while in even semester during April and may.

Campus: The campus was not so big yet not so small , we had everything like big classrooms well managed labs , library where almost every book was available which was needed.
Teachers: The teachers were very nice and well behaved. They has a really good knowledge about the subject and also there teaching methods were nice.
Facilities: we get many kinds of facilities like drinking water was available on every floor of the building. Wifi all over the campus and labs have everything which should be there and also there is a really big ground too .

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose physics because it was interesting and have so many things to learn. The teachers and the college made learning so much easier and enjoyable. We had time to time exams and tests and syllabus was completed on time. Some teachers preferred teaching on black boards while some used to teach by projecting their ppts. Overall it was good and due to them many students of our class are studying in prestigious universities like IITs and some have gone to abroad.

The lush green and open environment to sit in peace near to the nature.
High class sports facilities with well equipped sports ground and related supplies.
Intelligent and knowledgeable teachers who also help you in your personal issues as a mentor

Dislikes

The proportion of teachers includes more of south indian teachers, which causes a hurdle in communication between some students and teachers.
The modern generation freshers not very serious about their career, but just attending college to hook up with others, creating relationships, and fashion which should not be there in a temple of knowledge.
The working of admin block is not very effective and takes enough time to do any task which causes stress to students sometimes.

Placement Experience:

Our college offers Placement Opportunities to the students for which the become eligible to apply from the end of 4th semester itself and companies starts to enter from starting of 5th semester. There are various big companies like EY, DELLOITTE, KPMG, TATA CAPITAL,etc visit college to hire new talent in their company for various job profiles. The highest package is of ?21.5 LPA And the average package is of ?5.9 LPA I am also pursuing to get a campus placement and along with this, I'm also pursuing CA course.

College life masti is a overhyped concept

I liked the college vibes and the campus . Yeah the people couldve been better
Also liked the canteen and other places like sports room and basketball court
Liked the classrooms and the infra . Tbh i barely used to go to college

Dislikes

I didn’t liked the crowd tho. Only few were exceptions

Course Curriculum Overview:

My first choice was English honours but i missed the chance because i waited till 3rd cut off since i was also opting for other colleges and venky was not in my list. But overall the course i chose (hindi hons.) was pretty good and is not that easy as people make it seem to be.

First thing which i like in my college is the educational environment and best teaching staff from all over the india.
second thing is that it gave an opportunity to meet the people of various different state of India which led to a better quality of social interaction.
55:45 was the ratio of Boys : Girls. third thing is the quality of infrastructure and campus amenities like library, canteen and time to time fest occasion.

Dislikes

there is a hostel in College but it is not available for north Indian students which i disliked and due to this the rooms and PG near college is so expensive which can't be affordable.
quality of college infrastructure was so good but for arts students it was bad, classroom for arts students was not in good position and i remember a one incident in which a street dog sitting in classroom in between the lecture led to distraction.
during my time college did not host its best fest called 'nexus'.

i choose bachelor of arts because i am looking forward in this field in my career and also the experience and quality of faculty members. curriculum was prepares in a very professional way which is like stairs model from low level to high level.

My cousin was a student of Mathematics at Sri Venkateswara College. Based on her experience in the same I will list down some key features of the college:

Faculty- The faculty of this college is without that the best. The professors of Mathematics and even other courses will make you fall in love with the subject. Just stay committed to your course.
Infrastructure- Since you will spend a few years in college, infrastructure matters a lot. Classrooms are well-designed and laboratories are well-equipped. Hostel accommodation is provided for the topper of each course. A new science block is being constructed to add to its infrastructure.
Extracurricular activities- If you are a student here, you will get enough exposure to develop your personality. Apart from academics, this college has a list of glamour studded societies in every field.
Placements- The science students get lesser opportunities as compared to others. A package of around 5-6 LPA is offered to Economic students.
Nexus- This is the most awaited cultural fest of the college. It’s a 3-day fest with a list of versatile activities. It’s the most glamorous event in the college.
Sports- The college has a lush green field with a modern cricket pitch. It also has teams in almost every game like Cricket, Football, Badminton, Basketball, Volleyball, Tennis, Chess, Athletics, Squash.
