Here the faculty is very nice they are ready help when students need there help
Here placements is so good and many top companies are approaching to the college students here having good opportunity for the placements average placements is about 13lakhs per annual combining all branches
Many scholarships like fcc, nsp and others are student welfare related and do help the students alot.

Dislikes

Scholarship are there for weak section of society.. my fees is somewhat between 140000 to 150000 years as i didn't receive any scholarship or anything.
The hostel facility is not that great, there is a food problem in terms of taste and water problem in terms of hygiene, there are some issues with the internet also.
The attendance criteria is really strict and the behaviour of the professors are not good

From college classroom to career

Likes

The teaching professors are very highly educated and level of teaching is vert nice.
The college campus is very beautiful and so attractive.
The sports facility is so good as compared to other facilities.

Dislikes

The overall class timing duration is so hectic.
The food quality is average in some hostels.
The social environment can sometimes feel competitive or stressfull.

Placement Experience:

From 4th year or 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. The major companies are Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Flipkart, ONGC, IOCL, HPCL and other companies. They offer lots of placement offers. The highest package ranges from 60 to 80 lakhs. and the avg. package is 7 to 8 lakhs. The percentage of students getting placement ranges from 70% to 90%. My plan is a govt. job.

One things I likes the most about college is that teacher are well experienced and qualified.
Second things I like about college is lab facilities is ver good.
Surroundings are very clean and infrastructure is well maintained

Dislikes

Gym equipments are mostly damaged and no trainer
75 percentage attendance should not be there
Drinking water is bleached which smells a lot

Placement Experience:

Campus placement of my college is very good . Almost 80 percentage of students gets placed each year . CSE and ECE placement are around 95 percent. EiE placements are around 90 percentage EE placement is around 85 percentage ME placement is around 75 percentage CE placement is around 70 percentage

Nit Silchar : A student's prospective

My college is situated in assam ,silchar .It is very beautiful and green campus.
various facilities like sports complex are there ,our own college gym free of cost with all equipments are there.
smart room classe and very experienced professors are there who are very cooperative.

Dislikes

the time taken to come to our college from bihar is almost 2 days by train ,that i not like about it.
Although there is small market surrounding our campus but we have to go to silchar town for buying good qualty products which is almost 1 hour away from campus.
placements for core branch like civil are not good.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placement from 4 the year.Many companies arrive at campus and take their exams and on the basis of performance they shortlist candiadates.Each year almost 150 companies visit our college and almost 85 to 90 percent of students get placed.Highest package is Ninety lakh and average package is fourteen lakh.Almost 85 percent got placed every year.I want to apply for various PSU for govt civil enggineering post.

The beauty of campus is something no one can unsee. It gives breath taking beauty specially in the rainy season. The greenery and lakes makes it more beautiful. It would be more beautiful if the lakes are cleaned.
The placement is also good specially for circuital branches, the highest package touches Rs 80 LPA which is not a small amount
The campus Life, student activities, clubs, social interactions are the best part of our college life.

Dislikes

Some professors are not that friendly and not understandable at all but some of them are really nice.
The infrastructures are a bit old as the college is very old. Some really needs renovation.
The transportation facilities needs to be improved as fees is taken in that name but no genuine facility is there for this big campus and being distant from the main town.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for Campus Placements from 7th semester before that Internship and PPO opportunities are there. A lot of well respected companies are frequent visitors. The highest package of recent batch is 55 LPA and average is 9LPA. More than 80 % students gets placed and for circuital branches it may hit a 100.

Voice from the campus

Likes

The campus life is superb, Nit silchar has a huge campus size of 625 acr with lots of Greenery
Placement is decent with the placement percentage of 90 percent. And rest 10 percentage goes for higher studies. The average pakage is approx 1400000.
Professors are knowledgeable and experience and hold good number of patents.

Dislikes

Academic is tough, classes are from morning 8 to evening 5 and that became hectic some time.
75 percent attandance criteria and this need to be fullfill otherwise adminstration don't allow to give the end sem exam
Some of the professor class are so boaring it became hard to tolerate 1 hrs.

Placement Experience:

Placement is good with the average pakage of 1400000 and median is 110000. Good company visit here like Flipkart , Amazon , jsw , l&t , lows , future first etc and total 250+ company visit here every year. Interesting part is that Psu also recrutes from here and offer good pakages in core branches.

Likes

Good placement record with beautiful campus.
Good campus with scenic beauty and people nearby are polite.
Teachers are well qualified with good amount of experience.

Dislikes

Hostel food is not up to the mark as usual.
Road connectivity is very poor and Silchar is very unhiegenic.
1st year students are not provided with well equiped classrooms.

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester are eligible for campus placements. Various companies offer jobs to students here. Namely: Amazon, Capgemini, Microsoft, Snapdeal, LinkedIn, Adobe, Google, etc for tech placements. In my department, i.e, Civil, various companies offer jobs such as Ongc, Oil India, PCU, etc

Overall this institute is good you can join if you want.

Likes

The campus of nit silchar is very nice. I liked the hostels and its management.
I feel good by interacting with my friends and poffessor of this institute.
Faculties are very experts and teach us in a nice manner. They also guide us in our placements.

Dislikes

Though placement is good but the average is not so good.
I didn't liked the condition of 1 hostel.
The teaching process is good but they dont teach us from books or any other sources.

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students are eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit here like amazon, flipkart, microsoft, PCU, ONGC etc and they made many offers. Highest package is 84 LPA. 98% students get placed. My plan is to uplift my family condition after getting degree.

Clubs for all kinds of hobbies and interests
Beautiful campus with lots of trees and lakes
Above average placements in IT companies for various roles

Dislikes

Internet service fluctuates a lot due to high userbase
Library timing is restricted and not open after 8 pm
Mess food is unhygienic and not upto the mark

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for placements from 7th semester onwards. A lot of reputed companies like Samsung, AWS, Goldman Sachs, Microsoft, L&T, Cisco, Mahindra, ONGC visit for recruitment. CSE branch has the highest average package of about 18lpa. Highest package for the college is more than 50lpa. Percentage of students placed vary from branch to branch. For E&I it's more than 90%

It has good coding and development culture
It has a land area of 625 acres with full of greenery
Many clubs are their that you can join as per your interest and skill

Dislikes

The administration are not so friendly and rude
The mess food are sometime worst and in some occasions they cook very nice
The gym are not well equipped with the machines and instruments and of the machines are broken

Placement Experience:

Stident are eligible from 7 th semester to sit in th placement program. Amazon swiggy flipkart mastercard nypc iocl bhel and many more that come to the campus for the placement. The highest package is 82 lakh and the average is 15 lakh. Most of the student get placed and many of them go for high studies.

I have liked the ragging free campus and greenary
I liked the sports facility and fests here
canteen food and cafe food is wonderful fo taste change

Dislikes

campus should be maintained properly and lakes should get cleaned
there should be more shops inside the campus
labs should be equipped with ac and sitting area

Placement Experience:

from 6th sem students are eligible for campus placement approx 250 comapnies visited last year top companies are microsoft nvdia intel samsung jp morgan etc.In this year highest package is 1.68 cr for software engineer role and average package is 11 lpa.85-90 prcent students got placed.I am planning to give gate after degree
