College provides good facilities like buses to the airport and railway stations for picking and dropping students, encourages cultural activities and celebrations of festivals like Dussehra, Diwali, Bihu etc. It gives an overall good experience.

From the josaa counselling I got this college. Obviously as it was a nit I took admission through quota for outsiders and my obc rank in jee mains was 28 thousand.so I took admission in this college.

I got admission into this college via JEE MAINS entrance examination. This is the criteria to get admission into this college. One should get a good rank in JEE MAINS and for each and every NIT there is the certain cutoff for rank and if your rank is within the cutoff rank you will get admission into this college usually admission process starts last week of June and ends on last week of July. The entire admission process goes for a month. I had opted for this course as I have an interest in engineering and according to my rank in JEE I got admission into this college.

I always wanted to do engineering. I selected this Institute based on my performance in JEE Mains entrance. After the entrance result, JOSAA organized counselling and I got admission to NIT Silchar. Selection is done based on ranking and chosen Institute preference.

Everything's being said. It's a college like any other IITs/NITs with good infrastructure and resources.

It is an institute of national importance with very good reputation.I wanted to pursue Mechanical Engineering and NIT Silchar has a very good faculty of the same. Also it is in my hometown so was very convenient for me.

Overall very good. Academically as well as socially.

Being an institute of national importance, the institute is best for the students who wants to learn new things and improve their knowledge.

Overall college is in better condition now. This year NIT Silchar are placed at 46th position in NIRF Ranking. And 9th amongst all 31 NITs.

I first wrote Jee mains in Jan and April. Then using my score I did Josaa counseling which lasts for seven rounds and has options like float, freeze, and slide which lets you change or accept the allocation of each round. Then I reported on campus after all the rounds ended to finish my admission and move into the hostels.
