I liked the campus beauty and the staff over here who are very supportive and the teachera who are ready for yoy every time you go to them and wven the hygine is maintained quite good here
Faculty members in this department are the best atleast i think so, they interact with students in a friendly manner this allows us to freely ask our doubts and gain knowledge.
Tution fee in each year is increased by 10 percent and there are number of scholarships and fee refunds for which a student can apply for after approval of his cirtificates and various other documents.

Dislikes

Hostels - their is not sufficient hostels available for students and hostel mess is very bad. their is no student union available so it is very difficult to make some change in college.
It is not so good as expected because of lack of facilities within the college.but according to social aspects and culture it is good and our nit is lacking infrastructure and this affects campus life too.
It is a very small campus compared to the other nits, the college grounds are very small, and there are no separate buildings for the courses.

NIT Raipur my alma mater

Likes

high chances of campus placement in reputed companies
affordable fees during my admission time
merit based admission on the basis of IIT JEE Mains

Dislikes

teaching quality was not up to the standards of international colleges
outdated curriculum, not in sync with industry demands
infrastructure was not the best in class

Placement Experience:

companies start hiring from the final year i.e 7th and 8th semester. Companies like Infosys, TCS, Mu sigma, coal India etc visited the campus. 6-7 lakh was the average package and went as high as 25 lakh. In CSE discipline, almost 90 % students got placed. In other disciplines, the placement percentage is low. I joined Coal India Limited as MT (Systems). I was given two offers (other from Mu sigma)

NIT Raipur - The insights you should know before coming.

Likes

Course curriculum is very good. CBCS scheme is followed in which the grading and the passing marks are relative.
Faculties are well qualified and very experienced.
Campus is 100 percent ragging free. Anti-ragging squad is very active.

Dislikes

Campus Life is not as good as other NITs because of very less hostel accomodation.
Interaction with seniors is not very good as a measure of prevention against ragging.
Faculties use conservative methods of teaching and do not use technology very much during lectures or after lectures.

Pre Placements Offers starts from the 3rd year only and placements goes upto the end of fourth year. Many good companies like WIPRO, INFOSYS, DBOI, Microsoft, Samsung, etc visit the campus and recruits students. In ECE, highest on campus offer made was of 55 LPA and the average is approx. 14 LPA. Placements of core branches is very good. Many good core Placement companies visit and recruit many students. Almost 80-85 percent of the eligible students get placed. My plan after getting the degree is to get placed in a good and reputed core ECE company.

College Life

Experienced faculty members and there teaching methods is also nice.
I didn't opted for hostel but as my friends were living in hostel so from there experience I can say that hostel is just like any other engineering hostel
Fests are amazing and clubs are also active

Dislikes

Infrastructure need to be improved in the college
As it is a government college so Election Voting is also done inside the campus due to which our exam schedule gets disturbed.(I personally faced this problem during our end sem exams)
Exam time table is given this semester according to elections timings due to which students have given 6 theory exams in 6 days.Yes this need to be stopped.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is just like any other NIT/IIT colleges (outdated).But I liked few of my subjects like Maths 1,Maths 2,Phy 2 , Computer programming, Data Structures , Engineering Mechanics , etc.Semester exams were taken on time without any due and if you have studied for the exams then you will be getting majority of the questions.

Large campus size of around 100 acre and greenery is also maintained
Sports facilities our college has big ground for playing cricket and foot ball and volleyball and badminton court is also here

Dislikes

Very poorly fournished labs and machines are also very outdated
The college timings are very strict after 10 pm nobody can can roam in college

Placement Experience:

Companies do come for placement in our college but change the inflation and market is down nowadays the companies are which are coming are very less and the package is there offering are also very less but sense I come from biotechnology branch only a few companies come for Biotech but I also have decided to give Gate in order to pursue a future in biotechnology

hostel size and infraststructure, the parking is used as public parking

Course Curriculum Overview:

the exam held are according to acedemic calender, instead the couse being completed. the laboratory experience is very good, you need to complete all experiments and can learn a lot things in the lab with the helpful teachers.

Truth about NITRR

Likes

I like relaxation on 75% required attendance
I liked concept of supplementary exams after every end semesters to give opportunity to perform really well.
I like that campus area is not big so i don't have to walk much to reach lecture halls.

Dislikes

I dislike students environment that come from hime state that are not deserving and infecting the quality of good students.
I dislike the quality of professors in our biomedical branch who don't know how to explain concepts to students.
I dislike that there is really less interaction of juniors with super seniors.

Placement Experience:

Placements in upper branch at NITRR is really impressive with highest package > 60 lpa Top MNCs visit like paypal, Amazon, Zs, Wipro, etc Average package of 10.12 lpa. I don't have any fixed plan after degree, I'm looking forward to new opportunities.

Likes

Vast diversity of students , academics , no ragging environment
Fest of this college , security and seniors .
Campus , average placement is also good here

Dislikes

Hostel thing .. only students who will get higher cgpa will get the hostel in this college
First year senior junior interaction is not that good .It feels like we are in school .
Campus are is too small and not that well maintained .

Placement Experience:

I am in first year right now .I don't know about the placements that much but I have some idea about that like the average placement in metallurgy is around 80 percent and average salary is 8 lakhs per annum .

Unbiased Review of Decent College

Likes

The College Location was in the city , has it railway station to commute.
We can opt for being a day scholar and the areas near the college are quite affordable

Dislikes

Hostels aren't available for all the students
The Football ground not well maintained no flood lights and its all dry

Placement Experience:

The placements oppurtunites are really good and are students are allowed for internships in campus from 3rd year and are offered Pre placement offer if they perform good, and for the main placements 4th year students are eligible. Both core and non core companies come to the college and NIT raipur has also tie up with Bhilai steel plant providing internship and secure jobs with good package , companies like amazon,flipkart, capgemini,Siemens,L&T visit the college. Higehst package was around 55 lpa to two students one of IT and Mining . Average is around 10 lpa .More than 75% get placed and others opt for higher studies and competitive examinations.

The teaching faculty and the notes they provide are up to mark
The classroom are very interesting and helpful

Dislikes

Infrastructure of college could have been better

Placement Experience:

Placement of mining department are quite good but other branches are not so fruitful in the matter of placement. The average is around 600000 per annum which is quite average. You can get better placement in CSE or ECE branches

Why NIT raipur is good?

The college campus is really good we have B Mart for our daily needs and as per food parlour we have amul and vachan and college canteen at our campus as well as Indian coffee house.
The fests and events are really the best part of being in this college. There are many clubs and committees which organise a lots of fests and events.
We have separate building for architecture and we have central computer centre at NIT raipur.we have big grounds for cricket football and any games.

Dislikes

Here at NIT there are not enough hostel for all the students so many students had to stay out side of the college campus.
In the rainy season the cricket ground turns into a lake. We can not play cricket there.
We don't get gaps between our exams so it's challenging.

As an alumnus of NIT Raipur, here are my views on this institution-

Faculty- The faculty lags behind in terms of NIT standards. It is slightly above average. This is because their teaching method is not very engaging. That being said, the teachers are helpful. They will advise you to engage in extracurriculars as well.

Student Interaction- The senior-junior interaction is good.

Despite IIT Raipur and AIIMS Raipur being in close proximity, interaction and

idea-sharing with them is negligible.

Industry Connect- It has a good industry connection for some core branches like mining, metallurgy, and civil.

Campus Life- The campus life isn’t good. But eventually, you’ll learn to cope with things and enjoy yourself. You’ll learn a lot during your degree from this campus.

Infrastructure- There is a lot of room for improvement in the infrastructure of this college.

Placement- Placement records are decent. Last year an average package of INR 10.1 LPA was recorded by the college. A total of 738 offers were made by 101 companies. Some of the companies that visit the campus for placements include- Infoedge, Siemens, Adobe, Barclays, Capgemini, FIAT, Reliance, TATA, SapientNitro, Oracle, Amazon, Samsung, JP Morgan Chase, Cognizant and Wipro.

Overall, I would say that NIT Raipur is a bit lacking in many respects. However, you’ll get a good chance to rise over here because of low competition.
