I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

Straight Forward About College

Likes

Beach , campus , mechanical department and library
Some motivating teachers who teach us real life values and important of time
Clubs , competitions and regular events and fest and celebration during festivals

Dislikes

Relative grading and exam evaluation pattern
Campus could provides more funds for big events and competitions
Could be maintained more and more space should be utilised

Placement Experience:

Placement r decently fare this time because of recession... In campus package r decent and avg package is around 15 lakhs and the highest package is arond 50 lakhs ... Almost there r 90 percentage of people getting placed in conpanies

Campus is huge with lots of trees. We have a private beach which is a great spot to spend time with friends.
There is a bus stand for our college. So we get direct buses to Udupi and Mangalore from our college gate. The local food is very tasty and amazing.
Placements and internship opportunities are good. Research support is also very strong. Bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements

Dislikes

Being a coastal region,The weather here is very humid , throughout the year. There is no Winter season as such.
As there are a lot of trees and plants, mosquitoes sometimes give a lot of trouble.Snakes and insects are also present .

Placement Experience:

Campus placements begin from 7th semester. Internship opportunities begin from 5th semester. Placements are decent in our college , with around 95+ % placements in our department. Companies like Google, Microsoft,Amazon, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Intel , Qualcomm, Gold man Sachs etc visit our campus with dream packages. Overall percentage placement is around 90 percent , as many directly apply for masters. As of now,my plan after getting degree is to work and gain experience.

Having good sports facilities and having hall for sports.
Having good placement offers for all students.

Dislikes

Only English language use for communication.
Mess food are not good taste and not have good item regular
75% attendence is compulsory for any subject.

Placement Experience:

Avgrage placement of college is above 10 lakh. I am 1st year student not have information about this. Highest package in 2023 is 54 lakh & average package is above 10 lakh. Different branch wise overall is 90%+. Get a perfect job.

The beach here is a good place for evening walk
The sports facilities they provided is I like the most

They are dogs roaming every where in the campus
The temperature here is so high even in winters

The placements here in NITK is held by placements cell they ensure that every student gets placed. The number of companies visit to our college keeps on increasing every year. The average and median are also increasing

Campus is beautiful, beach is part of campus
Club culture is very extensive and there is something for everyone
Fests happen at a very large scale and that also helps in exposure

Dislikes

Mess food and hostel accommodation are mediocre
Curriculum is old and teachers aren't passionate
Courses can often get stressful especially in core branches

Placement Experience:

Placement season starts from 7 sem and ends at the beginning of 8th sem. In mechanical highest package is 50lpa andedian package is 10 lpa. For mechanical companies like Bajaj and caterpillar come for core placement. Other than that it companies also recruit from core branches

The placements of the college are quite good.
Beach is one most attractive factor for students.
Both the fests are quite good and large.

Dislikes

The hostel timings of the first year may cause a issue for the enjoyment.

Placement Experience:

The placements of the college are quite impressive. Students are eligible for the employment from the 5th semester onwards. You will start getting internship offers in yhe 5th semester. More than 150 companies come for the placements including JIO, GOOGLE , RELAINCE , MERCEDES BENZ, AMAZON etc. inyear 2022 JIO offered 120 offers to the students. Nearly 90-95% students are placed . I will try to build a start up after getting the degree.

I like the campus it is ever green and it contains its own beach which provides refreshment
it has good infrastructure and faculty was have enough practical knowledge

It not recieves funds as much as it receives for events

Journey of engineering in NITM

Likes

The friends I made which are lile family to me amd also the campus is full of greenery which gives a very refreshing vibe
The overall infrastructure of the campus
The new hostels for both girls and boys.

Dislikes

The amount of snakes and scorpios in tha campus which are very damgerous related to health
The negligibilty of some professors regarding regular classes
The strict criteria of 75% attendance which most couldnt follow

Course Curriculum Overview:

My course which I opted that is Btech in Artifical Intelligence have a huge scope in todays world which made me choose this branch with all my courage and heart. However there is room for improvement in terms of lab hours

The opportunity which are given to us is quite good.
There are people from everywhere so we can communicate so many people.
The college life is quite happening. There are sports event,fest, festival celebration

Dislikes

Due to the so many people, there are cultural and language barrier
The work done in club is not that good. We can't depend on clubs for our growth.
There is a big issue in the sex ratio. Girls percentage is low.

Placement Experience:

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. The companies are Google,oracle, Microsoft, TI etc and the number of offer is large. Highest package is 35lakh and average is 12lakh. Students above 7 cgpa gets a good company otherwise all the students get placement. My plan is to give GATE exam

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
