I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

Mosquitoes the weather here is very sunny
Rains library can bemade more bigger for students
Water scarcity old infrastructures at some places

Course Curriculum Overview:

The nirf ranking of nitk is 12 which is one of the best colleges of India.here in midsems the timing for exams is 1.5 hours and for endsems it is 3 hours. The college has very good professors and very cooperative.

Resources availablity. College has enough facility for you to get your basic amenities at a good price
The peace. It's really quiet with a lot of wildlife around

Management, process of rectification is slow

From the 7th sem placement starts Many known companies like Amazon, Microsoft, oracle, Bajaj, TI etc come for placements Highest package offered has been around 60 lacs with an average of 28 lacs Placement has been around 90%

Likes

Sports facilities are good here specially indoor sports
Canteen facilities are also very good specially night canteen
Library are very good there are two libraries here one is central and one is e library

Dislikes

Outdoor sports like cricket is not good here
Water scarcity happens here thatswhy we have small semester
Semester small timing around 3 month which is too hectic

Placement Experience:

placement scenario of our college is very good almost every student from this college got placed except some students which goes for higher studies . overall 97-98% students gets placed from 7th semester the students are eligible for placements almost every companies came here like googlr microsoft auracle etc highest ctc goes to 1 cr and above but of average goes around 20 lpa

Life at NITK

Likes

The food is nice. I did not expect such good food in a government college.
The beach is really close and beautiful.
The campus and its students give a good vibe.

Dislikes

The location while being so beautiful is far away from mangalore city.
The hostel rooms and washrooms, especially sanitation.
The weather during summers can get quite hot.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements around 6th sem onwards. Many companies come to visit including google, microsoft, amd, jp,deloitte,etc. The number of offers made is almost around 93 percent of total students. The highest on campus package was around 58 lpa this year which was given to around 12 students by the same company while the off campus highest went upto 2 cr. The average placements of cse, it is well above 25lpa. My plan is to get a ppo asap in a good company.

The story of Nitk from a student's perspective

Likes

The campus is beautiful the people are really friendly the service are really good and also the academic section is quite supporting
The peer group is really good and we have some really great people.
The mess food is quite good we have a lot of varieties of messes to choose from

Dislikes

There is strong language barrier I suppose for the people coming from north India
Sometime we have water scarcity due to less rain like this summer we have regular water shortages
Hostel timing are very fluid but the college timings are kind of strict and very challenging to cope.

Placement Experience:

The placement this year took some damage due to the global recession but the placement generally are really good and approx everyone can get job if they work hard enough. There are almost all big companies visits such as meta , Amazon, Google etc and they offer really good package of about 40,50 lpa. Placement vary according to department in my IT department there are about 98 to 99% placement I plan to do a master's abroad after getting my degree

Also environment of students here is very good

Food of here is very bad that everday ccreated stress for me
Also 75 percent criterion in attendance to get exam
Also teacher cut marks on their onn mood

I think after 6th semester students are eelligiible for campus placement many companies visited here like reliance digital digital Tata Adani group etc highest package package ofee red us 50 lakh per annum and minimum is 5 lakh per annum

Likes

campus life - badminton team, sports infrastructure
placements - eventually everyone who tries gets placed
block timings and gate timings - very chill campus regarding these things

Dislikes

clubs - all the clubs are just a showoff thing
professors - dull faced and uninterested to teach
funding requirements not fulfilled for sports and other important activities

Placement Experience:

You become eligible for placements in fourth year, many companies visit campus even for core fields like mechanical engineering. Few important companies that visited are Tata Electronics, Wells fargo, HPCL, BPCL, BEL, CITI INDIA, PWC, GAIL etc. Many amazing PSUs visit campus making placements amazing. There is no elligibility criteria for placements, anyone can sit for it based on companies requirements. Highest package in Mechanical engineering is 25Lpa from wells fargo, average is 11Lpa. Currently as of feb 70 percent people are placed in mechanical engineering. I got placed in Tata electronics for 20Lpa even after having 6.5 cgpa.

Life in NITK

Likes

Good interaction with students from different backgrounds
Good sports culture and easy accessible to equipments
One of the best campus life i could have imagined

Dislikes

Not good management in the events as well as exams
Campus is good but the hostels are worst
Few sport courts are time limited which could have been made available for more time

Course Curriculum Overview:

In the first year the course focuses on the basics of all branch which is actually not needed when the branch change option is removed from this year. The course curriculum should only focus on the topics related to the branch which we are pursuing so that the extra time we spend on others can be useful.

My Life at NITK

Likes

There is a beach on the campus, it is a good place to relax.
The campus is luss green, there are a lot of places to visit nearby.
The night canteens in the campus,that also provide online delivery enen at 12 pm night.

Dislikes

The weather is always Sunny or monsoon, one would die during summer without a fan
There's no central AC in the lecture halls.

Placement Experience:

As one of the reputed institutes of the country there are many oncampus placement opportunities . It is hard to not to get placed rather than getting placed .The CDC (career development centre ) ensures that you get placed , it also supports student startups.

Placement Experience:

The plcaements of our college is also something that make us proud. Our college is visited by most of the big comapnies you might have heard of from Google to microsoft to everything in the core our college weelcomes all the thing you should be concerned about with are skills and the rest is sorted. As per my knowledge the highest package for the last year was near to 54 lacs. The percentage of students getting placed varies from branch to branch but as much as i knoe in computer science, information technology and other circuital branches it more or less remains close to 100% and for the other branches it remains well above 75 to 80%.My current job is to land a job but lets see mind changes with time.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
