I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

NITK , all about it.

Likes

I like a lot about NITK it feels as a home to me this is the place where my life turns making me a more valuable asset to the globe.
Nitk posses everything cultural , extracurricular and sports making life here more cheerful and enjoyable.
We can expect many things out of here because all here come by clearing the toughest examinations all posses brilliant brains making the are here more vulnerable for personal growth.

Dislikes

I don't like the timings of classes here because it starts from morning 8 and somedays goes all the way to 6 in the evening.
I don't like the area where this institute is situated because here we sweat all day because of humidity.

Placement Experience:

NITK is the 2nd best nit in india and we cant expect less from it. Highest placements are done in it jobs where as there are govt placements for the core branches. Companies like google , Amazon , Microsoft and many reputed companies visit here and hire students. Highest package of 53lpa was done in the year of 2023 with and average of 18lpa.

Likes

I liked overall atmosphere of nitk surathkal.
The best thing here is we have private beach so we can ho there and relax.
Sports facilities over here is grrat. So i liked it

Dislikes

There is nothing i disliked personally. But as there is space to write i have to write some things.
As here interaction with seniors is less. I didnt like that thing.
And i dont like behaviour of professor towards studies. They wants us to study all the time.

Course Curriculum Overview:

First year course in general for every student in collage irrespective of their branches. If I talk specially about my branch it is quite well maintained. I don't have any conplain. There were no specific thing which attracted me to take this course.

Life at Nitk

Likes

Campus, curriculum, friends, people around, faculty
Sports facilities, college fests, club activities, social activities
Free wifi, more holidays, convinient schedule

Dislikes

Weather conditions, lack of water sometimes, hot and humid climate
Power cut rarely, some hostels are old and needs infrastructural repairs
In the outskirts of city which takes time to get something important and hectic travel

Placement Experience:

From 5thsemester students are offered in campus internships and from 7 th semester they get ready for placements. Many Mnc's like google, Microsoft, oracle, wipro, prestige etc visit for offering placements. 65% of the students get placed. My plan is to go for further studies after btech

Journey of a lifetime - NITK

Likes

The beach, the late walls at night , the clubs , the college fests , the feeling of knowing there are no classes left for the rest of the day
The experience of learning from the best and most experienced professors from the math department and exploring your interests in this field
Playing basketball and badminton for long hours in the courts and going back to bed exhausted.

Dislikes

The disorganised nature of things during fests and club events.there is not much punctuality at all.
The sports facilities are not not the best and are not well maintained at all.
The compulsory attendance and attitude of the professors towards it and the concept of fail by attendance of you don't have 75 percentage

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for internships in their third year and placements in their fourth year.the highest package was around 54 lakh from CSE.normslly most students are placed by the end of placement season.names of companies are Goldman Sachs , de shaw ,texas instruments, caterpillar Inc and JP Morgan for example.

The events here happens are more memorable and also useful to us in one or the other way
Here we can play all games as our campus has all games facility and there respective grounds.
The teachers here are more intelligent and they have more skills and best teaching skills

Dislikes

In our campus at some point regional grouping happens which I didn't like
Our campus is too huge. I feel tired to go from one corner to other corner
In college some teachers are rude. To talk with them we feel scared.

Placement Experience:

Placement of our college is much much better than other colleges. Here we will get the average package or low package which will be equivalent to highest package in other colleges. Even if we didn't get placement, we can also go for teaching professional in which we have more scope.

Best college with best placements and facilities for growth of students

Likes

Swimming pool , sports complex , well equipped gym
Beach ,large campus area , greenery , infrastructure
Technical and non technicak clubs , very hygienic

Dislikes

Nothing everything is excellent and no such problem in infrastructure .
Snakes in campus area so many snakes are there
Schedule are strict and hectic 75 percent attendance is necessary

Placement Experience:

Placements are also good as per the previous year data 90 percemt students got placed and average package was also good 8lakhs per annum. Many companies visit the college and give job opportunities. And provide a very good package for students .

Choose your college wisely!

Likes

The locality of the campus and the natural beauty.
The sports facilities and the sports competition organised are really good.
There are clubs for people of all kinds of interesting.

Dislikes

Mess food is the same for every week for the whole semester.
The hostel washroom need to be cleaned more often
Campus is in the outskirts of the city so you'll have to travel 20 kilometres if you want to shop for something.

Placement Experience:

From third year onwards, students become eligible for on-campus placements. Roughly around 200-300 companies visit the campus every year including companies like Microsoft, Google, Abode, MRPL, Goldman Sachs, TCS, Infosys, etc. Placement percentage is pretty good. And students go for higher studies in most cases for specialization and opportunities. Highest package offered last year was around 50 LPA and average is around 16 LPA.

I liked the fests here, be it sports, or cultural
I like the hostel systems, gere, the food is good, the people are kind and open to speek
The teachers are very kind, the academics is very nice

Dislikes

The place is far to isolated,even for simple things we need to travel far
The cooperative society here closes too soon, as it is closed on holidays, it becoms very tough to get things when we are free
The location of our college is near a beach so it sometimes becoms Unbarabely hot, in summers

NITK - The Top of the Town

Likes

The work culture , the students around , they are the main motivation for me to work , seeing other students gain skills helps me to get out of my bed and develop myself
There are many clubs which are active and make us a more skilled person , make new friends in club , increase social skills and personal
The campus is very clean and lush green with a beach .There are Many stalls food court canteens which are quite affordable and useful when we don't eat in mess

Dislikes

The weather here is very humid , if you are used to stay in a cooler environment you may face difficulties here
Water supply here is very poor sometimes , the last summer we experienced water scarcity of drinking water too !!!!
The exams are conducted very frequently and not allowing the faculty to complete their syllabus properly . The curriculum should focus more on practical knowledge rather than theory

Placement Experience:

Campus placements of NITK are good. Considering it a tier 1 government college , there are many companies who visit NITK My branch IT has a 100% placement record in the last 20 years since it's establishment, CS IT ECE are the main branches from where companies select students Internship opportunities are provided by college in ye 3rd year itself through campus interviews. Students also apply offcampus and get placed

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
