Likes

I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

An honest NITKian

Likes

Campus is very good. It is quite big sng greeny.
Beach is also there which is the highlight.
Research facility is very good. 80 crore building is built for it

Dislikes

Hostels for first years can be improved.
Teachers can teach better. Mostly we don't understand in class.
A lot of stress occurs during exams due to less time in between exams.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement are for 4 th years only but students can get PPOs in 3rd year itself. For my brach, Bajaj, tata, axis Bank , Mahindra and maruthi Suzuki are major companies. And there are other small companies too. Placement percentage is around 95. Try for DRDO job through gate exam

Likes

The availability of a private beach within the campus .
The faculty are very good and experienced.
Easy accessibility to city,railway,airport.

Dislikes

The clinate is very humid so you sweat a lot.
Faculty shortages in certain departments.But due to recent faculty recruitment shortage has been overcome.
75 attendance is sometimes too much. We are in college i feel attendance shouldnt be mandatory

Placement Experience:

I am new to the campus so i don't know much about the placements.The average package as per the data is 9 lac and median package is around 15 lac. A lot of top companies like Goldman Sachs,Google,Oracle etc come for both placements and internships. Students are eligible for internships in the 5th or 6th semester and placements begin from the 7thsem and mostly go on till 8th sem. The data on percentage of people getting olaced can be seen on the official NiTK website.

Life in NITK

Likes

I liked sports complex, canteens ,night canteens,student cooperation shop
Hostel,seminar hall, food court ,labs,bakery,basketbal ground
SAC,Lecture hall C,beach ,gym and cids, and so on

Dislikes

Dogs on streets and cats in mess and snakes

Placement Experience:

Campus placements are very satisfying to me because I have heard that even for civil people got 40lakhs/year package last year .companies came like Wipro,Microsoft, Tata,Google,and so on. Microsoft offer average package of 7 lakhs and highest package of 51 lakhs per year

the vast beauty of NITK in 200 words

Likes

the beach is a great spot for you to chill out and have fun
the sports facilities and gym provided are awesome

Dislikes

the boys hostels for undergraduate students

Placement Experience:

the placements of the collge go very well every year but this year of 2023-24 the number of companies that visited for campus placements are a bit low but the figures on board like the average and highest packages still remain as usual .

NITK as a brief

Likes

Beach , sports , fests , departments and the hostel life
Sports facilities and gym that are provided here are awesome
Beach is one of the best place to chill out

Dislikes

Hostel blocks for Undergraduate students can be better
There are many exams in the aim to keep students on track with acedamics

Placement Experience:

Placements are generally great , but in this year of 2023 - 2024, the number Of companies that have arrived has decreased but the top placments and the average packages remain the same . Almost all of the seniors have been placed

My view of nitk

Likes

Infrastructure of the campus. It's connection with nature. Smart blend if technology and nature. Lot of opportunities to grow. Like the curriculum

Dislikes

The mess food is something they should improve. Sja and pool facilities not available currently. Maintainance of facilities should be improved. Ground should be improved. Didn't like the placements records for non circuital branches

Placement Experience:

The placement in our college is pretty good Students start getting internships in third year Jobs are offered in seventh year The average lpa for eee course is around 17 Companies like Google, Nvidia, Qualcomm, amazon, Mercedes, cisco, Microsoft visit the campus The highest package from ee branch in campus is 51 lacks and percentage of students getting placed is over 85 percent My plan after getting a degree is to identify a crucial problem from my specialised field and solve it embarking in an entrepreneurial journey

THE SUCCESS OF JOINING NITK

Likes

campus environment which is situated beside the beach
the greenery which is present in the campus and also many birds like peacock present in campus
the infrastructure is very well furnished and faculty here are very friendly and they guide us for our future

Dislikes

the hottness present near the college since it is near to the sea
the water problem which we face sometimes
sometimes very less speed of the wifi present

Placement Experience:

the college has very good placement statistics since it is the top institute of india and students are eligible for placements from their end of 6th semester while they can also get PPO's earlier also. many companies visited are google, microsoft, adobe, JSW, wipro, accenture and many more almost the placement rate of the college is around 90 percent which means most of them are placed the highest pacake last year was 54 LPA last year my plans are to get placedin a good company

The NITK's real experience

Likes

I liked mainly the labs and the infrastructure of this college.
I liked the fests here very much the enjoyment during fest is nice.
The main fests are dj nights and Ganesh chaturthi.

Dislikes

I doesn't like the time table of this college.
I doesn't like the strict rules in this college.
The lecturers are not that much close to us.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually I want to goto IIT Kanpur but I didn't have the sufficient rank and no reservation so I chooses this college.Actually this college will have strict rules and frequent exams.there will be plenty of midsem and endsem and labs.

Campus life is good . Fests are great . Placements are good.
Infrastructure is good . Whole campus is equpped with wifi connection .
College has its own private beach making it a great place for hangout.

Dislikes

The hostel timings for the first year restricts students to enjoy.

Placement Experience:

The placement is highly great of the college . The average package ranges from 15-17 lpa . The students from 5th semester are eligible for internships . Total more than 150 companies visits the college including mercedes benz , reliance , jio , amazon , flipkart , google. In year 2022 JIO offered 120 students from this college. Nearly 90-95% students are placed every year . I'll try to build a start-up after my college degree.

The NITK Life

Likes

The various fests in our college such as Engineer and Incident.
Lots of cool clubs to take part in like music club.
There are small events that take place over the whole year from different clubs

Dislikes

There is no swiiming pool available in our campus
They have closed our student auditorium due to some legal issues
The block timings, that is to be back to your hostel before 11 pm.

Placement Experience:

From the third year students can sit in on campus intervies. Varis companies like Oracle, Texas Instruments, Microsoft, Google have visited our campus. The highest package given last year is 54 lakhs and average was 11 lakhs combined all branches. From IT 100% students get placements. After getting the degree I will work.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
