I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

My experience is good at all in my all nitk journey.i was a good campus environment. And there are lots of learning which i have learned

Dislikes

Everything in campus is good. So i didn't like anything in my campus. Everything was good for my health and future.

Placement Experience:

I am from MCA and in my course we will eligible form 3 semester for internship and in 5th semester for placement. There are various mnc companies visit for us. And they offer average package 10 lakh. In mca the highest package in 2023 is 52 lakh by amazon aws and minimun package is 6 lakh by incture In 2023,50%placement till December. But in last previous years approx 95 percent placement is there. I want to get a job in mnc company in a good position after the degree.

A First year’s overview of NITK after one semester

Likes

The vibrant campus life along with the private beach
Club culture and cultural festivals being huge celebrations are a treat
The faculty as well as the infrastructure is excellent

Dislikes

Mess food is rather poor at times and the lack of non veg food in the day time
First year subjects being common means we have to study subjects like Mechanics which have no further bearing on our coursework

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for placements after the third year, with some even receiving PPOs after their internships in the third year. The highest package received in the last year was 45Lakhs and our college boasts a placement percentage of 91%. My plans after getting the degree are to sit for placements and get a high paying job

Life at Nitk

Likes

The first thing i like over here is the hostel lif eyou get to experience.
The second thing i liked over here is how to students organise the fests and other events.
There arent any restrictions on the hostel timings.

Dislikes

The hostel and mess food is somethingnthat i have disliked.
There arent many eateries inside the campus
The weather is damn irritating. This is one of the worst weathers. You be sweaty all the time

Course Curriculum Overview:

I wanted a computer science related course what I couldn't secure because of my rank hence I had to go for electronics and communication. The faculty to student ration is about 1:20. The faculty consists of very highly qualified teachers.They use software and in person teaching. It is difficult to pass exams as compared to exams . Exams are kept at a regular basis which becomes very hectic provide no holidays are given in between exams.

My perspective on NITK

Likes

Firstly the best thing is the fest it was awesome.
Secondly the class timing is so convenient
Campus life is also great and u can enjoy a lot

Dislikes

Exams are so hard that you can barely pass
Food is not good at all and it taste very weird from home food
Temp is too hot and u need to carry a umbrella everywhere

Placement Experience:

Nitk has a very good placement record on both off and on campus the avg package is also good. For cse the avg package is 20 LPA and overall avg package is around 10 LPA. The placement percentage is around 90%

College life and ecosystem. overall well for student
Sports facilities.grounds and gym sports system is best
Cultural fest placement everything is better than any other colleges

Hostel and department are some what at high distance
Sometimes water shortage used to happen.

Placement Experience:

7th semester onwards company started coming to college and had better placements each year. The average of 20 lakhs each year and cse placement last year was incredible. In CSE 100 percentage placement s are there in every year

My View on NITK

Likes

things i liked are mix of people all over india and nice placements
faculty have excellent thought process and ideas and well qualified

Dislikes

hostels are very old not a good ambience and triple sharing rooms
mess is not good not a bit spice is there in food definitely big drawback
ground is not very big but ok can be adjustable but bats , wickets all equipment are old not good

Placement Experience:

placements excellent here even for the least branch here you get 95% placements our branch did not have one pass out batch also but IT and CS branches. 27lpa is average package here for CS, IT branches and 55lpa is highest here not interested in higher studies cause of the good placements here

If any electricity problems occurs their is only on electrician is assigned for whole campus which takes weeks to rectify

Students from the 7th semester with good cgpa above 7 are eligible for interview for campus placement. More than 300 companies visited NITK for recruitment like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Sprinkler, etc Average Package: INR 13.12 LPA & Highest Package: INR 45 LPA. After graduation, I want to get a good placement with a good package.

Different various kinds of student clubs and organisations to choose according to our interests
Annual technical fest, Incident and Annual Technical fest, Engineer. You will have a lot of fun.
Campus placements and the companies that gets visited

Dislikes

Mess food could be way better. It has got less spice according to my taste.
Hostel amneties, like wifi and internet connections are too slow.
Infrastructure, buildings are somewhat too old

NITK has a very strong placement record. In the academic year 2022-23, over 97% of the eligible students were placed in top companies. The highest package offered was INR 45 lakhs per annum and the average package offered was INR 24 lakhs per annum. In the academic year 2022-23, over 97% of the eligible students at NITK were placed in top companies. This is a very high placement rate. Students at NITK become eligible for campus placements from the seventh semester onwards.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
