I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

NITK in my Views

Likes

Main building infrastructures, library facilities, department infrastructure, workshops, engineering laboratory.
Bus facility for our journey, sports facility, gym, placements, internships which some company's comes.

Dislikes

Mess food , hostel maintenance and cleanliness and some time electricity problems.
If any problems related to electricity in rooms or in blocks only two electricians are assigned to resolve problems.

Placement Experience:

In NITK students from the 7th semester are eligible for interviews for placement. So far about 190 companies have visited the campus consisting of big and reputed names from different business sectors such as Microsoft, Oracle, Wipro, Uber, Sprinklr, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Amazon, Samsung, Qualcomm, Dell, KPIT, GE, Honeywell, Philips, McAfee, Bajaj and many more. The highest package offered during NIT Surathkal placements 2022 for BTech (IT) and. Tech (IT) stood at INR 45.03 LPA. Average Package: INR 13.12 LPA & Highest Package: INR 45 LPA. Around 86% of students were getting placements. After graduation getting a good placement is my plan and I am doing my best for it.

Placements and Packages, Opportunities to get higher CTC at Multi National Companies.
There are many student clubs and organizations that cater to a wide range of interests, such as music, dance, drama, sports, and technical events.
The campus has well-equipped classrooms, laboratories, and libraries. The campus also has a number of other amenities, such as a sports complex, a gymnasium, and a swimming pool.

Dislikes

The food quality is generally not that good. The menu is varied, but it can get repetitive at times. The food is also very less spicy for my taste.
The hostel facilities could be better. The rooms are a bit small and the furniture is a bit old. The internet connectivity in the hostel is also not very good.
NITK Surathkal is located about 20 km from the city of Mangalore.

Students at NITK Surathkal become eligible for campus placements from their 7th semester. In the 2022-23 placement season, the overall placement rate at NITK Surathkal was 86%, and the placement rate for individual branches varied from 80% to 95%. The highest CTC of INR 45 LPA was offered by Microsoft to 9 students.

Likes

I like The Beach. And the greenery is too good.
I love the accessibility to markets we have surathkal and mangalore very easy to access.
We have many tourist sites in reach of a half day. Bike and car rentals are available to travel and enjoy with friends.

Dislikes

There can be issue with weather conditions especially during summer.
It can be too hot at times. And food court can be better.
We have a swimming pool but it was never working.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose Mechanical engineering because I am very interested in the field of aerospace. Faculty student ratio is quite good in mechanical department for every 30 students there is a faculty. Most of the professor and assistant professor are phds from nits and iits and very qualified. There will be half term after 2 months and full term after 5 months.

NIT Surathkal - a college to remember.

Likes

Cultural fest INCIDENT played a major role in my memories, enjoying all day and night with your friends was really a wonderful experience.
College schedule is pretty chill, even though you feel little tough at start but a real engineer manage everything.
There are many tours and treks nearby which yiu can go as in 1 day trips to take a break from regular classes.

Dislikes

I was expecting a bit more of campus area with respect to other iit's which disappointed me but beach here nullified my disappointment.
College according to it's name and fame can do a lot much better, we students along with the faculty and association is already working on it.

Placement Experience:

Campus placement is 100 per cent mostly in all the branches, though there are some students who fail and remain in the backlog for a certain time everyone surely get opportunities in big number. Also for applying off campus the college name plays an important role.

I liked the was the campus has its own beach.

Dislikes

The dislike is that the only one is thunderstorm and raining frequently in nights..

Placement Experience:

Placements: 99% of the students get placed in different companies, both core and non-core. The highest package is INR 45 lacs per annum, and the average is INR 24 lacs per annum. The top recruiting companies are Qualcomm, Texas Instruments, Jio, Airtel, Adobe, and many more. Mostly, 50 percent of students get internships from my course. The top roles are software developers and semiconductor engineers.

EAST OR WEST NITK IS BEST.

Likes

Sports facilities are very good, here we provided ground and gym.
Classroom are very well maintained and clean.
Electricity is always provided by the college.

Dislikes

Nothing I dislike in the college. Everything is best.
Everything is good in this college for me.
I face difficulty to talk in English but it will be helpful for me.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement after 3rd year of bechlor degree. Companies like Google, Infosys, Facebook, Flipkart, Microsoft, oracle, YouTube, amazone, Intel, Uber, Myntra, Cisco, NetApp, Morgan, visa and many more. Over 93% students are placed last year. And the maximum packege was above 45 LPA.

Campus life ( beach ) , their technical fest
Cultural fest, seniors are quite helpful in this college

Hostels room , they are for 2 people but
They allowed triple sharing in the hostels

I think from the 5th semester internship opportunities have started or may be from the last of 4th semester and campus placement started after you entered in 4th year. Many big companies like Amazon Google Facebook Goldman Sachs oracle visited the campus. The highest package is around 55 lakhs per annum (domestic) in 2023-24 and the average package is around 22 lakhs per annum Around 93% of students got placed somewhere.

Life at NITK

Likes

I liked the infrastructure professors peer group of the college
Also liked the ragging free environment of the college
The college provides us multiple clubs to be in and develop individual skills

Dislikes

Hostels are a bit old and not reconstructed
Sports facilities can be better and new grounds should be constructed
The hostel timings should be relaxed for the first years

Placement Experience:

From the 5th semester students became eligible for campus placements. Companies like Google facebook walmart amazon Flipkart Adani visited the college. The highest package was above 1 cr and the average package of the college was 16 lpa. 94% of students get placed approximately.

College is best for mca and engineering students for placement. Campus is very big.
College class room is very good and confrence hall is also for college students meeting
Food is very good I have many options for food

Placement Experience:

After 5th semester if you have above 6 pointers then you are eligible. Accenture, MacAfee, Microsoft, and many companies more than 500 companies are coming in campus 40lakh per annum is the highest package on campus in Facebook Company. The highest is 40 lakh per annum and the average is 10 lakh per annum. 99% of student was placed. I placed media com company and continue this company.

The Atmosphere Of The College. A Private Beach Is Present To Just Get Relaxed.
The Curriculum Is So Maintained And Updated. It Helps The Students To Get In The Race With The New Technologies.
The Campus Placements Are Ossum. I Literally Came Here For Placements.

Placement Experience:

At the start of the 7th semester. You can apply for the placements. Many prestigious companies like Adobe, Infosys, Microsoft, and Texas come to the college and offer a huge number. Microsoft gives the package of around 60 LPA wand Texas gives about 50 LPA and many more. The highest was 57 LPA. In the IT Branch, 99.8% of placement. In CSE Branch, 98%, In ECE, 95%, IN EEE, 93%. I am in the EEE Branch, I am preparing for the gate Hopefully if I get selected at the gate I will go for it.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
