I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

Life in NITK

Likes

Nitk has one of the best college view with a beach in the college
The clubs selections are held in a very competitive way
The works in the hostel are very friendly

Dislikes

The mess food it should be improved a lot
The weather in Surathkal adds a very bad impression on college
The departments have become older they should be reconstructed

Placement Experience:

The placements in nitk was pretty good till last year but 2023 placements were dropped out Many students were not placed Mechanical branches were placed good compared to other branches We should wait for the next year placements because many new companies are visiting the campus for the placements

Likes

I liked people who were all background and get here to have fun and also do something with their life.
Fests are just amazing, we have so much fun during those times
I liked the infrastructure buildings are near by, since the campus is 300 acres but still everything is built quite good

Dislikes

Some professors are quite old fashioned and strict i dont like that
You could find snakes here they just climb up your hostel walls sometimes
75 percent attendance rules and also studying all subjects in first year rule

Placement Experience:

I am in first year so i dont have much info about the placements as such.but before joining i researched and the placements looked good. I saw three people got around 50lpa or something. And 100% placements for my department. Being an AI engineer i feel like we are gonna have some pretty decent jobs

Campus, beach, extracurricular activities, festivals,sports, different technological clubs.
Even faculty are good. We get to study various different subjects in first year.
The beach is a great attraction over here. We have certain timings to go there and it really feels peaceful after a long tiring dear college and there are many beach events and music happenings at the beach. I'm going to beach with friends is another

Dislikes

How the weather here is too hard to handle. It's like almost summer all through the year or rainy.
75% attendance is also important. My 75% is a little more because there are only some classes for a few subjects

Placement Experience:

Usually students are eligible for campus placements from around 3rd year or like 6th semester. Many different companies like Microsoft, google, Amazon. The highest packages around 50 lakhs per annum and average is around 30 lakhs per annum. Study said the percentages of placements around 99%.

Fests and events, and this was the amazing opportunity where your talent in co curriculum activities get visibled
No teacher says or warns to study for exam because teacher knows that students are clever. And student knows how to balance both study and co curriculum activities.

Dislikes

No swimming pool, at website they shown a swimming pool now it is not there here.

Placement Experience:

In the fifth semester, we are eligible for job internships and placement starts at 7th semester. And placements are above 90%. The highest is 84 lakhs per annum and the average is 18.26 lakhs per annum. At NIT students should not think about placements because this is the platform where everyone gets place but the importance is to skills so improve maximum skills in 4 years of course.

Life at NITK

Likes

The internet and the library facility in the college are the best.
NITK has plenty of cafeterias and canteens to fulfill your cravings at affordable prices,which is simply awesome.
The number of events happening here are just unbelievable.One can expect atleat one event everyday happening in the campus.

Dislikes

I don't like the 75% attendence criteria in the campus

Placements in the college are pretty decent, around 17 LPA for almost all the circuital branches is the average and the core branches would have an average around 11 LPA .IT department enjoys 100% placements here in the NITK and almost every branch has atleast 85% of the students placed by the end of the 4th year.

Intriguing Life at NITK

Pleasant Weather, Lush green campus and of course the beach.
Ragging Free Campus,You'll be shocked that this campus is 100% ragging free unlike other NIT's and IIT's.Seniors are friendly and helpful

Placement Experience:

Generally students become eligible for placements after 6th Semester.Many IT companies visit the campus namely Amazon, Wells Fargo, Microsoft, Goldmen Sachs and many.Highest package offered in 2023 was 54 lakhs, average package of the institute was 18 lakhs of Btech Grads.2023 recorded placement percentage og 87.22%.Maybe I'll pursue masters abroad after my degree,but this is not sure.

The mess food ok but the quality could be better

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester the students are eleigible from placements. The placement percent is almost 90 percent. With top branches like CS IT having average package of 28,25lpa. Even the lowest branch has average package of more than 10lpa and almost 80 percent placement.

Life at NIT Surathkal

Likes

Nit Surathkal has calming beach, where we chill often
I like the fests. Engineer fest was amazing.
Even in the academics there no more burden.

Dislikes

I didn't like the mess food, it is horrible
Language problem is somewhat tourbling thing
Few faculties aren't good in awarding marks

Course Curriculum Overview:

Since I'm 1st year student, Every branch students have same curriculum in 1st year. Faculty members are good. Course curriculum is very good. From second year our actual course will start, so I'm waiting for it.

I think this college is best beat and faculty is also best
And placement is also so wonderful of our campus

Placement Experience:

Placement of our college is so wonderful and around 60 to 70 percent or each branches got placed and talking to ou course 80 to 85 percent students got placement and placement cell called 70 to 80 company for our course.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
