Course Curriculum Overview:
As everyone knows curriculum of Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur is hectic as compared to other IITs , overall Professors are great at IIT Kanpur. Scoring Cpi is difficult at IIT Kanpur as compare to other IITs

- The freedom to roam around the campus at any time.
- The various fests being conducted in the college.
- The amma and bapu concept between the juniors and seniors.
Dislikes
- There is only one canteen which runs 24×7.
Placement Experience:
A campus student becomes eligible for an internship after the fourth semester. There are various famous and good companies which offer internships, as well as placement, to students. The average package for placements is 1900000 and the highest package is about 4 crores

- I liked the environment it provides to students.
- I liked the food and hostel facilities. Very good quality meals.
- I enjoyed the freedom it give to students.
Dislikes
- I disliked some professor and their teaching style.
- I disliked the tight schedule for a student.
- I disliked the suprise tests and the professor who take surprise tests.
Placement Experience:
Placement is also at the best level. Many companies and startups come to the campus to provide internships. Students also get a 1cr plus package in some companies. But for that you have to work smartly.

- Campus Life is excellent and you will get everything on the campus itself
- Schedule and timings of classes are labs.
- There are many opportunities to students studying in the campus and the management mainly focuses on the overall development of the students.
Dislikes
- Academics are a bit tougher when compared to other IITs
- One should compromise regarding the mess food.
Placement Experience:
Placements at IITK are really good and the Avg package for BTech students is around 28 LPA and the median salary is around 18 LPA. Generally, the students are eligible for campus placements in their fourth year and the internships can be availed from their 4th semester. A no of companies visit the campus and details about placements are available on the placements site of IITK.

- Very hard academics and frequent quizes and exams
Placement Experience:
You get placed in your 4th year and the highest package was off campus around 4 cr and on campus was 2.4 cr and the average is 18 LPA around. If you sit for placement with a decent prep you are most likely to get placed. And yup I too am hoping for placements.

- You get to learn a lot from surrounding which improves your personality.
- The prof are highly qualified and education you get the best of them.

- The competition is always there it feels you are running in race
- The quiz and exams take place every 15 days .
- The hostel food can be improved the permanent dislike.
Placement Experience:
Placements of college are good Students in 4th year are eligible to apply for campus placement, Microsoft and all major companies come in placement sessions so yes it is good as almost 80 percent of students are placed.

I choose this choice because I had a core interest in ES. Here we have an excellent faculty-student ratio that is 9: 1. The faculties and the tutors are highly qualified and had studied at renowned universities and did their Ph.D. there. The teaching method depends upon the faculty, some have old methods, and some have new methods. Timely exams are held every 1.5 months and are not so difficult.

- I like the facilities they provide to students like the CC, Library,etc
- I like that things happen here very formally.
Dislikes
- I dislike that academics are a bot tougher than other IITs

From 6th semester they become eligible for campus placement. There are many companies that visit IIT Kanpur that can be checked at the site of the college.highest package is 4.2 crore and avg package is 33.5 LPA.

every other major tech finance and consulting company Goldman Sachs bcg boston mckinsey Quant investment banker around 1300 offers made the highest 4.2 cr 100 percent students placed doing MBA.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
