- I likes the culture of the campus, Seniors are very helpful.
- There are many hangout places in the campus, like Domino, CCD.
- The labs here are great. Almost all facilities are provided in the labs

- The professors can improve teaching.
- The grading should be improved, more students should be given better grades.

Big companies like Graviton Trading, and Jane Street also visit but they select only a few students from campus, electrical engineering students are eligible for all the companies. Almost all students are placed. Companies like google, amazon, and Microsoft also visit.

- Mess food and cantine food with their extras option
- Sport facility all halls has ground of atleast 4 games.
- Classrooms are very big and highly equipped.
Placement Experience:
Placement and internship both are offered. Placement varies with the branch. It branches have high packages like above 1 crore. And other branches have packages like 20 lahks to 70 lahks. So u will get good money.

- The 1100acres campus gives different vibes. There is a lot of greenery and Peacocks.
- People can hangout in campus at any time. OAT is one of the best place in campus
- The food in campus is very nice. There are canteens in every hostel. There are canteens which open 24 hours.
Dislikes
- The marks given by professors are not great. They can even fail whole class
- The library is not open 24 hours. Although there are other places ehee one can study.
- Inter hall movement for both boys and girls are allowed in hostels. People have to roam outside after 12PM

Students are placed in their 7th Semester. Placement is one of the best in the country.
Every branch is treated equally in placements for 80-85% of Companies. Some companies open exclusively for CSE, EE, and MTH students. Overall Placement for every branch is good. Having a good CPI is a plus in placements.

- Accademic is tough here as compair to other iits.
- Gap between professor and student due to which many students face a lot of problems
Placement Experience:
We have great placement in our college, every year more than 400 famous companies visit our college. So almost every student who wants a job gets the job on the basis of their capabilities in various sectors like coding, quant, finance, trading, consultant etc. About 95%students get placed every year. The highest package in the year 2022 is 4 crore and lowest package is around 6 lakh and the average package is around 15 lakh.

- The culture of IIT Kanpur. It has hall culture, wing culture, family culture.
- The beautiful campus with its amazing infrastructure.
- The freedom. Unlike other IITs, IIT Kanpur doesn't imposes any major restrictions on its students.
Dislikes
- The academic pressure. IIT Kanpur has tougher academics than other IITs.
- The quality of food and the cleanliness in the mess of Hall 13.
- The interaction between faculty and students is mostly limited to classroom only.

Placement Experience:
In terms of placements, IIT Kanpur is the best IIT. Its average package is Rs. 33.5 lacs per year and the CSE average is 42 lacks per year. This year the highest package was received by an electrical guy which was 4.2 crores per year and the highest domestic package was 1.9 crores per year. A large no. of companies including GOOGLE, MICROSOFT, and AMAZON. GOLDMAN SACHS, JANESTREET visits IIT Kanpur. Students are eligible for placements after the 7th semester. The placement percentage is not disclosed by the institute and since I am a fresher, I have no clear idea about it. After getting the degree, I am planning to write UPSE CSE.

The placement at my college is good. From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. As I the highest package of my college is around 2 to 3 crores per annum. And the average package is around 20 lakhs per annum. I will get placement from the college.

IIT Kanpur is one the best leading Technological institutes in India. Almost everyone gets placed during the placement drive. This year our college got avg 20 lahks with maximize 4 crore offers per year. I will go for placement.

You can sit for campus placements in your 7th semester. Many big tech companies like Google, Microsoft, and adobe come for placements at IIT Kanpur every year.
In placements season 2022-23, more than 250 companies visited the campus, and 1128 offers were made.
The highest package of this season was 4.3 crore, and 15 LPA was the average package.
Around 85% of students got placed this year.
After getting my degree; I am planning to do MBA.

Many high-tech companies come here to recruit and IIT Kanpur has one of the highest packages which is around 4 crores this year and also a very good amount of average package of around 20 lakhs. Around 98% of students get placed. I would go for a Master' degree.

Placement statistics were excellent in our college. Recently highest package of 4 crore rupees was offered to one of my seniors studying in the mechanical engineering department in his fourth year. Almost 80 percent get placements every year.

What is your review of the earth sciences department at IIT Kanpur?

The Earth Sciences is a Department imparting education related to the study of Earth and its geological reliefs. The best part about this Department is that every course here overlaps with some or the other course of other departments making it a multifaceted one.
Earth Sciences curriculum overlaps with many courses in Material Science and Physics, Civil and Chemical, and even Electrical and CSE. This provides diversity in the overall learning experience of the course making it very interesting.
The only major issue is that due to common courses, the curriculum is vague and has no well-defined structure and content. We hope that this flaw is taken care of in the near future.
The program provides versatile job prospects even in the field of Satellite Remote Sensing, weather prediction, and geothermal power plants.

Is IIT Guwahati becoming the next IIT Kanpur?

Both IIT Guwahati and IIT Kanpur are well-respected institutions, known for their high-quality education and research. Comparing the two is already justified and saying that one institution is becoming the next of the other is more so. Both institutions have their strengths and areas of expertise. Yet, if I was to choose one I would have always gone for IIT Kanpur.
Some points that favor my preference are as follows:
- The quality of coursework at IIT Kanpur is extremely challenging and will keep you on your toes always. It offers the best quality of education and you will learn much more than other IITs if you are regular to classes and take your academics seriously,
- The usual schedule of a student at IIT Kanpur is not always jammed, unlike the general opinion. The timings of the clubs align with the classes and you can take out time for both if you are good at managing your time well.
- Another challenging aspect of IIT Kanpur is its tough grading system, (10,8,6,4..) under which anything below 10 is 8. Thus you are under tremendous pressure to maintain your CGPA and is enough of a motivating factor.
Overall, even if Guwahati was to be compared to IIT Kanpur, it still has a long way to go until it becomes the next IIT Kanpur.
