Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

The review of Nit Durgapur

Likes

Infrastructure is one the best among all Nits which every facilities provided
Placement is another big pro of the institute having one of the best placement records from past few years

Dislikes

Curriculum can sometimes be too lengthy and exhaustive to focus on something extra curricular or something of interest
Attendance criteria of 75% forces one to come to class and attend lectures which reduces ones time to work upon oneself

Placement Experience:

The students of final year are eligible for on campus placements. Multiple companies including tech giants like Microsoft, Amazon visited the campus with soft ware roles. Other companies like JP Morgan and co. Too visited the campus. Overall average package was 13.62lpa, highest being 70 lpa. 85% of students appeared were placed. Mostly students opt for placements whereas others move for further studies in various parts of the country and world.

Nice College

Likes

College campus is quite good and greenish.
Placement are good in the computer branches.
Fests and games are one of the largest in East India.

Dislikes

Core branch placement are low as compared to coding branch placements
There are restrictions in first year so we can't enjoy so much

Course Curriculum Overview:

Because this course is the best I can get ag my rank so I choose this one. The ratio is quite low , I don't remember exactly but it's okay. The professors are well qualified PhD holders performing research in their various fields and releasing scientific research papers. The term exams vary from easy to moderate difficulty level.

Placement Experience:

from 4th sem to 5th sem they can intership. companies like acolyte digital, acko, Paytm, Samsung, tata Motors, etc, the average package for all the courses is 13.62 LPA and the highest package is 70 LPA. 84% of students are placed in nit Durgapur.

The course of chemical engg.is good as well as our faculty members also. And here is the problem of semistar there no enough time for preparetion, and hug amount of syllubus is there . According to syllubus we want enough time for preparation of exams

College infra structure the class room and library were too good in this college
Mess the government college mess was too poor but this college have good mess
Inter nit sports the sports by all nits all different nit will meet at one place and play different sports

Dislikes

Small village it is far away from the main city transportation was too difficult

In this college attendance criteria is 75 percent.
Teache are very bad interaction with student is bad

First year experience of NIT Durgapur.

Likes

Student culture, scope of learning - everyone has knowledge about something or other and you get to learn things everyday.
First year hostel is very good (Hall XI - Meghnad Saha Hall of Residence) and hostel food is also good.
Campus is full of greenery and everything is well within reach.

Dislikes

Some buildings are quite old and not well maintained as they stand for quite some years. Those buildings could be renovated.
Some facilities like swimming pool and Open air theatres are not there (OAT).
Many land area is lying vacant and could be utilised for building some useful infrastructure.

Students become eligible from 3rd year (or 6th semester). 187 companies visited the campus and offered 746 jobs with 84.66% of students getting jobs. The highest package this year was 70 LPA and the average package was 13.64 LPA as of 2023. Many renowned companies have visited the campus like TCS, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, etc. My plan after getting the degree is to get a good placement. Also, I'll try to give CDS and AFCAT for defense services.

Likes

College Life, if you are not a first year student you will enjoy your college life.
Sports Environment, it is very well , coach and staff members are supportive.
Placements, if you deserve, you will surely get it.

Dislikes

Conditions of hostels are not good, sometimes ceiling have water leakage problem.
Professors, they don't know how to teach and interact with students
Mess food, it can be better if they make it in a proper way.

If you are a deserving candidate you will surely get placed despite of your branch, overall placements are good here, many companies visited our campus including tech giants such as Microsoft, Adobe, JP Morgan, and Goldman Sachs. and many more. More than 100+ companies visit every year and make 700+ job offers. The highest package is 70 lakhs from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the average package for college is ?13.62 lakhs. Considering job profiles Microsoft, JPMC, Goldman Sachs,. And many more companies hires for software development and data analysis role. More than 70% of students placed in each department.

Lots of Bengali people and little partiality for kon Bengalis.

Placement Experience:

After 4 sem companies start coming for the internship process and many companies give PSU.For placement companies are coming after the 6th sem and those whose cgpa is more than 7 are eligible to sit in campus placement, organized by CDC of nit Durgapur any companies visited here like Microsoft, Amazon, Goldmann, Vedanta, Tata Steel, Accenture, and psu companies like iocl,bpcl. and many more. The highest package is around 55 lps and the package is around 20 lpa.

A college , if you choose you won't regret ever!!!

I liked the vibe and atmosphere of the college .
The faculties are helpful and some even mentor for personal problems .
Placements in every branch is pretty good which is not an often scenario in other colleges

Dislikes

Campus life is good but sometimes it will be stuffy.
Faculties are good but all person are not same so it happens when you get a not so good faculty to teach you an important topic.
Infrastructure is pretty good but in terms of placement it is observed that females and quotas are given more priority than sharp brains.

Placement Experience:

From the 7th semester, students are eligible for placements and from the 4th semester, they are eligible for internships. Many companies like Microsoft, Texas Instruments, Jhon deere, Amazon, L&T, and many more come with lucrative ctc. The highest package went around 79 lpa the previous yr on campus and 15 lpa was average. 97% of students were placed from all the branches. After my completion of btech degree, I want to pursue an MS abroad or do Mtech in IISC or any good IIT.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
