Additionally, the institution recognizes the importance of supporting students financially and offers various avenues for scholarships, financial assistance, and campus employment opportunities.
Faculties are highly experienced with great knowledge and some of them have good teaching and mentorship style.
The classes are also very nice, the library is beautiful, well organized and peaceful.

Dislikes

We get information about scholarships, they are not interested in giving scholarships to poor students like us.
I disliked the lack of facilities in college sports, or music room facilities gym and all and mess is also not good
There is one almirah and one table and one bed provided in the hostel but the mess is really not good which was a problem in every college.

Beautiful, Peaceful and lushious green campus
really supporting faculty members (except the electrical ones)

Dislikes

Restrictions for first year students from going out of the hostel campus

Placement Experience:

For campus placements you have to be atleast in 3rd year. The companies like Microsoft, oil india, bharat petroleum, reliance, physicswallah visit our campus and offers a very good package for high skilled students. Highest package for 2022 was 73 lakhs by flipkart to a mechanical engineering students and 15 students got 50 Lakh+ packages.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placement from 3 rd year for internship. The company that came to our campus are axis bank, Microsoft, oracle,ONGC, etc .There is an avg placement percentage of 80 and above%.My plan after getting a degree to get a nice job with a happy family.

NIT DGP Reality for upcoming student..

Likes

I like coding as my background interest other than my own branch and I want to do frontend and backend both web development..
I study with my hostel mates hole night and it is a best experience for us.. Group study is much beneficial for us..
I like to spend free time by playing badminton with my friends anytime at about 12:am also..

Dislikes

Our college have so much restriction in 1st year ,this is something I don't like ..
Most of the area my college is covered with trees only..
There are not too much shop and cafe in our big college

Placement Experience:

From 3rd semester students become eligible for placements.. There are about 200 company visit to our college.. And they offers almost 800 jobs. There are big companies such as Oracle , JP Morgan, TCS, and much more.. Almost 90% get placed at the end of 4th year.. I have to do MTech after getting job in some company with some agreement with that college..

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Many companies visit the college and provide good offers to students. The highest package last year was 70lpa. Near about 80 to 85% of the students sitting in placements are hired for the job.

The infrastructure is really nice. The classrooms are huge and the labs are well equiped.
The people and the faculty here is very nice and helpful.
The course curriculum is very industry relevant the new director is trying to raise the placement stats.

Dislikes

The management can be very unhelpful at times.
There are far too many restrictions for first year students to avoid getting ragged
Infrastructure although great is not well maintained. Grasses are not cut on time etc.

Placement Experience:

The student gets eligible after passing the 5th semester as summer internships start. There atleast 100 it companies visit every placement season and 500+ offers were made. The highest package offered was 70LPA to a mechanical branch. Around 75 percent of students gets placed every season. My plan after doing the degree is to have a corporate job in US.

NIT Durgapur Unpacked

The academic building has a very nice architecture of its own and along with that there is a new auditorium which is very good and spacious.
The hostels have a good infrastructure with a good living arrangement and the hygiene is also maintained properly.
The classrooms are well maintained with good seating capacity and are very spacious with good lighting and air conditioning facilities.

Dislikes

The restrictions for the first year students are very irritating and it may seem to you that you are a prisoner trapped in a cell.
The system of mics and speakers used in the classroom is not configured properly and there should be a digital board in such large classrooms instead of the conventional chalk and blackboard.
The ground which is at the entrance of the college should be maintained for conducting any sports activities and the gym should be well equipped with new equipment's and its size should also be increased..

The placements of the college are quite good but have been affected due to the recession as all other colleges. The overall average package was 13.62 LPA in 2023. Students start getting internship opportunities in the 3rd year and they sit for placements in the 4th year. A lot of known companies like Microsoft, Infosys, Oracle, Adani Group, Bajaj Auto, and many more came for placements in 2023. The highest package was 70 LPA and there were a total of 746 job offers. The placement percentage for the year 2023 was 84.66 percent. A total of 187 companies came for the placement and 85 students got a double job offer. The average package of CSE was 21.45 LPA, 17.49 LPA in ECE, 14.61 LPA in Electrical Engineering, 9.72 LPA in Mechanical Engineering, 9.02 LPA in Biotechnology, 8.87 LPA in Chemical Engineering, 8.79 LPA of Metallurgy and 7.39 LPA of Civil Engineering.

All in One Package NIT

Likes

The campus is very large and beautiful.The academics building and labs are in good condition too.
The hostel mess food for me is very good and quality is good too.
The wifi connection is very good and the staff are very interactive.

Dislikes

The college has lot of restrictions for the betterment of us only.
The air quality outside the campus is little bit bad due to its a industrial area.
The gap between exams is very less which is why we are more stressed.

Placement Experience:

Many companies visited this year like 150+ and offers are also made around 600+.Around 80 percent of the students gets placed.My plans after getting the degree is a government or a corporate job or abroad studies.

NIT DURGAPUR

Likes

Campus, its lust green and has many facilities needed for the students.
Auditorium, it's newly built and is very comfortable.

Dislikes

Restriction, due to a recent case of ragging the 1st year are not allowed to leave the hostel without any escort.
Surrounding areas, the surrounding areas are not much populated and consists of open fields so it feels boring outside the campus.

Placement Experience:

From the 3rd year, all the students become eligible for campus internships and from 4th year all students become eligible for campus placements. The companies that visit the campus for placements are BPL, Microsoft, JP Morgan etc and most students get placement from the campus. The highest package that was offered last year was 70lpa and the average package of btech is 13lpa. The percentage of students that got placements is around 85 overall. For now, I don't have any plans after getting the degree and only want to have a job in a good company. Later my views may change.

The things I liked about Nit Durgapur is that hostel facilities are good
Fests are good in our college and also tech fest
Placements are good in our college.Various tech giants came in our college

Dislikes

The thing which I most disliked was the zone culture of our college
Many got trapped in drugs and other stuffs which are not good
Here in our college very few students get the opportunity for internship

Placement Experience:

Students from 7th semester are eligible for placements.Lots of tech giants came in our campus like Google, Microsoft, Amazon and PSUs also visit our campus.Some students are also got double offeres.Highest package from our college in this year was 70 lpa from. Average package of our college is 13.64 Lpa .about 83-84 percent students got placed

Academic Reputation:NIT Durgapur is known for its strong academic programs, especially in engineering and technology.
Campus Infrastructure: The campus provides modern facilities, well-equipped labs, and a conducive learning environment

The students have acquired the highest packages of about Rs 44 LPA. The average package a student gets after completing a course from this Institute is Rs 13 LPA.NIT Durgapur has a Career Development Centre that guides the students through the process of placements. NIT Durgapur’s placement drives are conducted every year for the final year students. National Institute of Technology (NIT) Durgapur placement drives are organised for the students who are there in the seventh semester or are at the beginning of the final year. The interested companies have to fill up the Job Announcement Form (JAF) and then submit the necessary details to the NIT Durgapur placement cell. The visiting companies also conduct pre-placement talks before the final round of interview. After the interviews, the list of shortlisted candidates is released.

Here is a detailed review shared by my brother who completed his graduation from NIT Durgapur

Infrastructure: Honestly, the infrastructure isn’t all that great but will provide all the basic amenities necessary for a good academic environment.
Faculty: Most students have to resort to self-study because the professors are not very passionate about teaching. However, if you do good projects under a professor, you may be able to pursue a master's in a foreign university.
Placements: NIT Durgapur has recorded excellent placements. This year the highest CTC offered was INR 70 LPA while the average salary offered was INR 13.64 LPA. The top recruiters included TCS Ninja, PwC, ICICI Bank, Microsoft, and many others. More than 100 recruiters participated in the placement drive and 633 students were placed.
Opportunities: The NIT tag will open a number of opportunities for you and the alumni network is also quite extensive. You can also avail opportunities like workshops and clubs.
Campus life: The campus life is very active with many fun-filled events like the freshers' farewell party and celebration of regional festivals. Additionally, a number of cultural and technical fests are also held.
Administration : The administration is very slow and is not cooperative. You might face some issues.
Location : NIT Durgapur faces no major connectivity issues. The railway station is 30 mins or 14 km away while the nearest airport is at Andal, which isn't well connected, so Kolkata Airport will be a better option. You can find the Auto rickshaw stand just at the main gate.
