BIT Mesra Reviews on Placements, Faculty and Facilities

BIT Mesra is one of the top two engineering colleges in India in private category right now. Also because I had qualified in NEET so I didn't had to sit for any other examination in this college. Also I am from Ranchi so it's near to my house.

The semester exams were very precise in terms of time. The quizzes were also organized in the stipulated time. The questions were from the syllabus only and from the notes that have been taught during the class. Exams were not that difficult rather I would say they were moderate.

Now coming to the most important part of college for some people. You will hear about 7 LPA average package, 21 LPA packages, Microsoft, Goldman Sachs and whatever big MNC you have heard off. But mind you, max of the good companies are for CSE and IT. Some for ECE. You leave them aside, the placement scene is pretty dull and chimeric for other branches. Average package comes down to 4 LPA. In branches like mechanical and chemical only about 50% max students were placed. So if you do not belong to the so-called “Star” branches, have reality in your head and work hard according to your goals. Overall It is a good college. You will often feel that 10 Lacs and 2 years of JEE prep was not worth this college. Someway it’s right. Aim for IITs , IIITs and top NITs rather. But if you do not get better college, then come here, work hard, make friends, do the things you are passionate about, find your calling, make memories and the last day tear will say it all.

After the 6th-semester students are eligible for campus placements. And for internships, students are eligible after the 4th semester. Many companies such as Microsoft, Flipkart, Oyo, Goldmann Sachs, Deliotte etc. comes for recruitment. The percentage of students getting placed is also very high. More than 50% of students get placed. My plan after completing a degree as for now is to get a job.

Campus placements are very good for circuital branches CSE, IT, ECE, EEE but not so good for non- circuital. From CSE and IT around, 90-95% of students get placed and for ECE and EEE around 70-80 %. For non-circuital it's around 40-50%.

Birla itself is a huge brand and you can be sure of your placement if you are a quite good student. Yes, companies visit us. For the internships, the whole batch of 120 students is placed now. Expecting the same for FTEs.

As I have mentioned earlier, placements for Btech are downright amazing. The average CTC given to the students was around 11LPA. Companies like Microsoft, Oracle, Indian Oil, Maruti Suzuki, Goldman Sachs, ZS Associates are some big names that actively recruit students from our college.

Placements at BIT Mesra are good. In ECE average package is around 10 LPA and a median of 9.5 LPA dream companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Atlassian, Walmart also come for campus providing packages more than 40 LPA and most of them take 10-15 students from the circuital branch. I am sitting for placement and further, I haven't decided.

From 3rd year onwards the students are eligible for campus placements. There are several big companies and smaller companies that approach including Microsoft and Atlassian, Samsung, Wipro etc. The highest packages for the IT branch as in 2021 were 52, 50, and 48 lacs. The majority of students get well placed.

The college has good placement records and also a beautiful campus. Admission is entirely through the JEE Mains score through the counseling held for the students qualifying Mains exam. You have great exposure the various clubs and societies. The only one thing which I didn't like was the campus was in the outskirts of the city which at times troubled us when we had of bus few things required for projects are other events.
