- Courses and faculty - course are interesting and faculty is very enthusiastic and have great knowledge and have helping nature polite
- Scholarships like merit-cum-means and institute free studentship are available based on merit and financial need.

Dislikes
- Gate was entrance exam for this course.i found the application form and details in iitg website only.reservation is available but i am not eligible for that .exams are so difficult .it is so much difficult
- Hostel mess food is very bad, and very less food outlets
- The heavy workload, with assignments, projects, and exams, stress students. balancing studies with extracurriculars and personal life is be tough.

- Freedom- Here you are free to do all things you wanted to do no is going to probihit you till the time you are not harming anyone and following rules

- Campus is little out of city (about 10KM) so couses some inconvinience in services.
- Campus too big (700acers) that you cant travel to your destination on foot.
- It does not offer course for Business as IIT Bombay offers
Placement Experience:
1)Students become elgible from 3rd year for Pre-Placaemnt offer and and mostley placed by 4th year.
2)in tech field , all top MNCs come in thsi college including GOOGLE, FACEBOOK, AMAZON,NETFLIX and makes enough offer to pick up every CS student from campous.
3) Last year Highest package by 2Cr by a CS M.tech student from M.tech from UBER and everage is avout 30L for CS and little low for other Branches.
4)approx 90% placement and rest 10% are those who goes for highter studies and Civil servies
5)I will try to grab best placement out of all in IT sector only.

- Campus. IIT guwahati has one of the best campuses all over india
- The faculty here is very good and friendly

- The internet connection here is a bit poor
- The campus is far from city. It takes approx 1 hr to reach city
Placement Experience:
Students become eligible for placement after 6 sem. There are a lot of companies that visited the campus like Google microsoft jane street ola uber hero. The highest package is 2 cr and the average package is 21L. More than 80 per cent of students get placed. I plan to get a job in a good company after I get the degree.

- Some faculty members do not teach in the way we are used to being taught
- Exams are conducted very frequently, which causes academic stress in some students
- Sometimes the schedule gets too hectic and we get too tired to engage in other activities
Placement Experience:
The placement season in the college is a very important one. Even before that, students get to do internships from 2nd year of BTech, providing them exposure to all kinds of companies and job sectors. All kinds of companies like Google, Microsoft, Oracle, Amazon, Uber make their way out here in search of bright minds capable of developing the companies further. They even provide the students with Pre Placement Offers, if their internship performance is commendable. The highest package goes upto above 2 crore INR per year, with average packages of above 25 lakhs INR per year. Above 85% of the students get placed in the end, with the others interested in higher studies. Nobody is left idle. My plans after BTech are to pursue a well paying job with a good working atmosphere.

After the completion of semester 6 students are eligible to sit for the internships provided by the campus and most of the international companies like google, Microsoft come and visit campus for placements till now the highest packed offered by the companies is around 2.4cr which is quite high and average package goes around 25 lakhs per annum and around 90? students gets placement

- Infrastructure is really good in all aspects

- Few courses are really hard and an extra effort needs to be put in to be able to score

Course Curriculum Overview:
I was very much interested in pursuing a multidisciplinary course like ECE so chose it at one of the old IITs. The faculty-student ratio is the same as that of any other older IIT. The faculty out here are well qualified and good at teaching concepts to students. Few faculties teach really well. Term exam quizzes keep happening from time to time. Overall IITs are known for their rigorous academic curriculum so you have to push harder to keep at par with the best minds.

College placement is very good as it is an old IIT with an excellent reputation and respect. Companies hire their staff directly from college. Some students are interested in further studies as well and for that also college is excellent. And research opportunities are also good.

Course Curriculum Overview:
All faculty members are an expert in their domain who have at least one doctorate degree and have completed their education at esteemed universities. Most faculties are polite and cater to the needs of the students. Exams are held every semester (once in 4 months) along with mid-semester and quizzes.

Placement Experience:
From the 7th semester onwards students start getting placed through PPOs. On-campus placements take place in the 8th semester. More than 50 companies visited here last year. Companies like JLR, Microsoft, and Sprinklr were the top recruiters. The highest package was 2 crores +. The average package was also around 20 lakhs. Around 80% of students were placed in the mechanical branch while others opted for higher studies. A good number of students go for higher studies abroad. My plan is also to go for higher studies abroad or any IIM.

Mostly all the big mncs that hire engineers visit our campus and offer quite nice packages.
The highest package last year was around 1.2 crores.

Various big companies visit our campus for recruitment like Google, Amazon, Oracle, Uber, etc. Almost 90-92% gets placed from our branch. I plan to work for a great company then will think of a startup.
