I like the teachers like dr.sheena she is one of the best teacher here .
Placements and internship opportunities are good. research support is also very strong. bangalore is nearby hence a lot of companies visit for campus placements
Fees are somewhat high but a lot of scholarship opportunities are there for students, especially college fee is free for those whose annual income is less than one lakh and third for those less than five lakhs

Dislikes

There was a lack of transparency while choosing college hostel.
Hostel food is not good, actually veg mess food is not good at all
There are not lot of thing which i dislike its just two which i mentioned above.

"BEACH WALA NIT"

Likes

NITK clubs, sports, incident and engineer's fest.
NITK beach: the place of peace and sound of ocean.
NITK campus with more than 300 acres and Inter-NIT games

Dislikes

The placement percentage is not hundred percent.
There is very heavy rainy season in NITK.
Most of NITK hostels are very old with old facility with no shower and flush in washroom.

Placement Experience:

Placement of NITK is decent with avg. Package above 800000. From 3rd semester students become eligible for campus placements. Percentage of students getting placements is above 80%. highest and average package as per company and profiles offered is 4500000 and 1200000

Likes

Things that I liked in this college they provide well trained teachers
Faculty members are so good they are eager to innovate new ideas and new skills to their students
Campus is so vast even in our nitk we have our own private beach for us this so exciting

Dislikes

I think they need no give some time for students to get settled later they can start the course
They need to provide a better resource in library

Placement Experience:

Placements are very good in our college compare other iits which less nirf ranking than us . Students are available after their 6th sem which means after 3rd year they are eligible for the placements on an average it will around 11 to 15 lakh depending upon their branch's . It may even vary on skills

NITK : Beach and Study

Likes

Beaches and sunset view from it . It is something you can see everywhere si easly.
Facilities for Students in every field here
Clubs and events they hold very often. It is interesting and enjoyable.

Dislikes

Area given for residential houses and forest areas.
Animals not in control here and any dog can bite you
Mess food is not very good for the begineers.

Placement Experience:

Campus employment is actually good in NITK Surathkal. Highest package is around 54 LPA and CSE students have a median of 25 lakh. Many companies like Google ,Microsoft ,Lamborgini come here. Around 90% students are placed here. I would love to be a machine learning engineer after graduation.

College environment, friends, beach, facilities, places to visit, placements, statistics, faculty

Dislikes

Weather is quite harsh and water problems

Placement Experience:

From 6th semester, u will be eligible, there n no of companies visiting like Amazon, bajaj, gold man saccs etc, highest package of last year is 54.75 lakh and average was about 16-17.about 90% students appeared in placements got placed,my plans after degree is not stable for now and I am first year student, my placement is unaware

Nitk: A heaven for learners

Likes

Exposure: You get to meet a lot of people and learn new things
Social life: Clubs and fests are very fun and joyful.
Placements and Internships: Great opportunities if you have good skills and have projects under your name.

Dislikes

Hostel: I won't say it's horrible but it can be better
Food: Mess food is literally inedible... improvement is needed
Gender Ratio: This is also a bad thing...it's literally 30:70

Placement Experience:

Placements are good as per seniors feedback. For my branch : Mechanical average placement for 2023 was 12LPA. Internships are also available for second third year students. It's difficult but possible.

NITK AI Branch Review

Likes

Free and large campus environment of 300 acres.
easy access and availability of everything within / close to campus. There are multiple shops within campus and multiple night canteens to order
Excellent placement opportunities for anyone who works for it

Dislikes

poor curriculum for the new branch ( AI )
Schedule can get hectic at times, with workload piling up
Large campus can be difficult to traverse at times

Placement Experience:

From 7th semester onwards students are eleigible for placements . Multiple large tech and finance companies come here like google, microsoft, amazon, nvidia, Goldman Sachs,DeShaw etc. Package depends on branch. CS students had an average package of 28 Lpa in year 2023 wih almost 100% placement. Overall college has an 85%+ placement rate.

My view on my College NITK

Likes

I liked the campus. Beautiful lush green
I like the private beach and the lighthouse
Like the clubs, peer group and hostel life

Dislikes

Campus is not on even ground. So it's has steep roads.
Hostels are a bit old. water problems in summer

Placement Experience:

Placements are good. We can say it was the best this year. I don't have the data of the number of companies visited and offers made. I haven't decided whether I will sit in placements or persue higher studies in future

Honest Review on NITK

Likes

The first and the foremost thing is the beach of our college. Our college is the only college in India with a private beach
The sports facility and other extra activities such as gym, yoga centre are great.
Nitk has a lush green campus of 300 acre which allows to roam around different places inside a campus.

Dislikes

The first thing is, the weather because of the scorching heat around afternoon.
Nitk has high water issues which creates a huge problem for the students.

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements from 4th year and for internship it is 2nd year. The average placement percentage is above 90%. The highest package offered last year was 54LPA and the average package is about 15 lakhs a year.

Nitk college review

Likes

Our campus has its very own private beach. I don't think I have to describe how wonderful it is to live next to a beach.
The institute has a very lively atmosphere. A lot of events take place here from time to time to keep you on your heels
There are a lot of places to visit in and around the campus. Manipal and Udupi are in proximity.

Dislikes

The climate here isn't the best. It's rainy mostly
Relative grading is followed here. So don't expect grades to be awarded easily.
Water shortage can happen during summer.

Placement Experience:

Placements start from fourth year onwards mostly ( unless if you get a pre placement offer and get placed in the third year itself). Many tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Goldman Sachs visit the campus often. Companies offering packages below 6 CTC are usually not allowed in the campus. Placement percentage varies from branch to branch, but mostly around 90% people get placed at least.

My experience in my dream college

Likes

The campus environment , nature and the beach
The events going on all the time , like fests , sports events and club activities
The students here are bright. And have great ideas and thinking capability, providing a space for great collaboration

Dislikes

The hostel infrastructure for the first year students
The food quality in the mess of the hostels
Some courses which are still following the old method of teaching instead updating to the newer technology

Placement Experience:

Placements and internships are really very good in the college. There is no such criteria of eligibility but generally most of them are from third and fourth year. All the top MNCs and faang companies visit the college, I am not sure of the exact number of offers made but it's in a significantly good amount. Highest package is 60 lakh and average lies around 25 lakh per annum. The percentage of students getting placed are high , around 95 to 100 . The remaining students opt for higher studies or startups.

NIT Surathkal is one of the premium engineering colleges in India. It has an amazing faculty pool with top-notch infrastructure. Many big companies visit the campus for placements. The campus is huge with all basic amenities like hostels, health care centers, sports facilities, etc. Students are provided with 24/7 internet facility and also basic facilities like water and electricity.

The campus life is very dynamic with many technical and cultural events taking place on campus. Your peers are mainly people who couldn't make it to IITs but are very talented. Moreover, you get to experience the breathtaking view of the Arabian Sea.

NIT Surathkal organizes one of the best Cultural Fest Incidents every year. Additionally, many startups have been founded and co-founded by NITKians which has improved the startup culture to a great extent. Ultimately, college is more about what you learn and experience!
