I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.

Dislikes

The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

Greenery, campus, faculty members, seniors and hostels
Peer group is very good here, all are competitive in nature.

Placement Experience:

From 3rd year students start to get placements. Many tech giants visit our campus including Microsoft, Google, Flipkart, and TCS almost all companies visit here and recruit students. The highest package is 55 lakh and averages around 12 lakhs. The percentage of students placed is around 80.

A genuine review of one of the best college of west Bengal

Likes

The sports clubs are quite active and lot of games are conducted.
The dance and the music clubs are also very active.
The research opportunities are high and facilities are highly supportive.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is quite old and not well maintained.
The girls boy ratio is not so good as compared to other nites
The language barrier because of mainly Bengali speaking faculty.

The Average placement in mechanical engineering is 8.5lpa and median is 8.75 lpa.The students from 6th semester are eligible for placement about 85% of the students were placed.Maximum was 1.2cpa which was in non core company and off campus.The highest in core was 15 lpa

Environment for our college is good. Many trees are there just looking like a wow
Grounds are very big and for every sports there is separate ground.
Faculty are highly qualified and very helpful for student.

Dislikes

Hostels and many building are old and not in good condition.
Boys:girls ratio is 6:1 which is very low.
Many clubs are not active which is responsible to hide the talent

After 6th semester students are eligible for campus placement. Vedanta, Tata Steel, and JSW are the major recruiters for our branch which gives a decent amount of package. 13 lakh is the highest, and 8 lakh is the average salary for my branch. Approx 84 % of students placed.

Honest College Review of Indian Institute of Engineering Science and Technology, Shibpur.

Likes

Good Academics, faculties are highly educated and have done a lot of research in their field.
Good placement in circuital branches and decent placement in core branches
Good sports culture, two big grounds for football and Cricket.

Dislikes

Infrastructure could be improved, Progress is quite slow.
Lab equipments and machines are quite old and should be upgraded.
Maintenance issue, campus would become exponentially beautiful if maintained regularly.

Placement Experience:

Generally after 6th semester students become eligible for placement however there are various internship thata re offered to other students too at sooner levels. Companies such as Microsoft and Amazon visits regularly and hires students from Circuital branches, lot of core companies also visit such as Tata Steel, JSW, Vedanda and also lot of analytics compaovisit such as PWC who recruit in masses. From the department of Mechanical engineering 85.88% students were placed in 2023, with median CTC being 8.9 LPA and highest CTC of 15LPA. I personally plan on doing Higher studies after I get the degree.

IIEST shibpur means the college of enjoy

Likes

i like the greenery of the campus and the senoir junior interaction
some faculty is good and teach in fabolous way in my frame of reference
IN my branch there is 100 percent placement record from last 2 years

Dislikes

infrastructure is not good as compare to any private or government college in india
since i belongs from regional area so i face difficulty in understanding of english by the professor
the administration of this college is so bad as i felt many times

5th or 6th-semester students get placement. There are lots of companies visited here for core or non-core placement offers such as Google, Microsoft, IBM, cognizant, amazon, Paytm, etc The highest package of this year is 1.3 crore and 5 students get more than 50 lakhs of package in different MNCs.

College history, students, place where the college is located. It is located in mid of a city.

Dislikes

Infrastructure like roads is not maintained. And the grass which is grown in college is not maintained too

Placements in IIEST are pretty good in 2022 Avg package in IIEST was 8LPA and the median was 7LPA. After the 6th semister students get eligible for placements. Almost IIEST gets visited by 60 companies. The highest was 45LPA offered to 9 students. And the overall percentage of the students who got places is 80.

From the seventh semester students become eligible for campus placements. many renowned companies come and visit offers on average seven offers are made to each student. almost every student gets placement. I'm willing to do the Masters after getting the degree.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this because here we are provided hands-on training which enables us to tackle real-world problems. Yes, exams are conducted very strictly here and the level of exams is high but it is easy to pass if you work hard throughout your semester.

Faculty also supportive.They clear doubt of the student after class also.
College life is so beautiful.You never feel boring after coming in this college.

The placement of this college is very good. Students get internship opportunities after 2nd year. Top departments like CST, IT, and ETB give 100 percent with good CTC. The average CTC of CST, IT is 19 lakh, and ETB is 16.5 lakh. All big companies like Google Microsoft Amazon Facebook etc come to this college. Almost all students are placed in this college.

There is a good atmosphere in the placement cell Where we get training for the placement before the final round. Most of the students joined with CSE, IT, ECE department got almost 100% placement on campus

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.

Placements:

Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.

Infrastructure:

All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.

Faculty:

The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.

The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
