I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.

Dislikes

The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

IIEST shibpur review

Likes

I like Science and technological building .
I like lakes which are in our campus. There 3lakes.
I like oval Oval ground here students practice their respective games.

Dislikes

Hostel because in one room 4 students are there so Congested
Here some buildings are too old as all know this college is one of the oldest college
Food it's is bengali type food .here there is lot of issues if ur a pure vegetarian.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course because I want to be software engineer. Faculty is good in this college student need to study getting 9._ CGP is so easy just U need to focus on studies. Exam are also easy easy questions only they will give. Some of Seniors are best they help a lot.

Sports mangement is good here . All equipment are available here

Very old type city like you feel in 80’s

I have no idea about this . Here too many companies are visited like tata steel , jsw , aditya birla group, accenture , microsoft, .Highest package is 50lakhs . 80 pecent students are getting placement

Campus and it's beauty an old cultural vibe of kolkata city
Ganga river behind the college gives you peaceful evenings

Old buildings of college and no ac in classrooms
Bad seminar hall and assembly hall is not that good
Bad way of study for 1st year college students

Placement are quite good highest placement of our college is arround 60lakhs the highest percentage of placements are from computer science and technology department of iiest it has also a good average placement

My dream college

Likes

The best thing in here is the environment they provide as I mentioned earlier it is a bit so they have to maintain certain no. Of trees.
The clock tower which is present here for around 150years

Dislikes

The bad washrooms service sometimes as I mentioned earlier it was hell
Since west bengal is the state where non ved is common so it is not good for veg students
Some faculties are way too bad here like bee teachers

Placement Experience:

From the 6th semester onwards a student becomes eligible for campus placement offers.I am an IT student so here average package for it student is 19lpa and highest is 51lpa whereas lowest in 10lpa which is quite good compared to other colleges.

Fest culture: This college is very good in it, the cultural fest(Sanskriti) and technical fest(Rebeca) both are awesome.
Senior-junior relation: The relation between seniors and juniors make college awesome as they run together the system.
Sports:This college is very good for sports enthusiasts in almost every sports.

Dislikes

Hostel: Rooms are not good here in comparison to another colleges and the quality of mess' food is also not good.
Faculty:Almost every teacher are good here but some are not easy to handle as their way of teaching is not understandable.
Cleanliness: The campus is not healthy and clean as compared to the campus of another college.it needs a lot of improvement

Placement Experience:

1.From fifth semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2. About 192 companies visited our college this year in which PWC, TCS, Google and other major companies are included. 3.Highest package: 51 LPA from Microsoft IDC Average package:15.81 LPA 4.More than 90% of students got placed. 5. I prefer higher education after getting the degree.

The place Kolkata you can go to any place the connectivity is very good
The ambience of hostels and campus is very lovely

Dislikes

Hostel conditions are not very good the bathroom are very old and needs repair

From 7 semester they become eligible for placements almost all top companies visit the campus for placements and PPO are also given almost in every branch above 85 percentage is placement rate except civil which is 83 this year . I have plans for civil engineering private field and join a construction company and work there and build beautiful building

Diverse alumni network,Supportive seniors and good social connection
College is close to main city ,so one can enjoy the city of joy ,kolkata.
ample placement opportunity,regular fests, and ganga ghat.

Dislikes

Infrastructure improvement is needed, a multipurpose sports complex is neeeded.

Student can sit for the placements in their final years. Microsoft offered 45 lakhs per annum to 9 students from the batch of 2023(PPO).INR 28 lakhs per annum was offered to 5 students by Texas Instruments from the batch of 2023. INR 26 lakhs was offered to 4 students by Atlassian.INR 22 lakhs were offered to 6 students by Wells Fargo. Accenture gave 17 offers of 11 lakhs each to the students from the batch of 2023. Amazon India made 4 offers of 12 lakhs each. The highest package offered to the batch of 2023 (on campus) was INR 51 by Microsoft. PWC offered PPO to 9 students from the batch of 2024.Google offered PPO to 2 students from the batch of 2024.ICICI Bank offered 13 students from the batch of 2024.The placement percentage of Computer science and Information Technology is more than 93 percent every year.Students get offer from almost all prominent companies.

The truth of IIEST Shibpur

Likes

The thing I like about the faculty as they are very disciplined and stick to their teaching.
The students around me are very competitive which leads to my own development.
The main building in which our classes run is renovated nicely.

Dislikes

The infrastructure here is very old especially the hostel buildings are very rusted.

The students become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. There are many companies that visited for campus placements like Texas Instruments, Tata Steel, Jindal, etc. and they made 78 offers for the students of department of Electrical Engineering. The highest package for Electrical Engineering is 28.41 lakh by Texas Instruments and the average package is around 9 lpa. Around 80% of the students get placed. I want to get placed with a good package after getting the degree.

I like almost everything over here.studies,gamezs.
I also like many kind of different societies which exist over here.
Seniors behavior as they are very helpful.

Dislikes

Many seniors don't supports juniors if we ask for help many of them simply ignores us.
Here in hostel we don't get our roommates as per our choice
There is no yoga or pt type things happen in college in the morning.

Placement Experience:

College campus placement is very good. many students get very good packages. Last year 14 students 7 from computer science and the other 7 from it got 55 LPS packages. Here it CST students get more than 90 %+ campus selection. Mining has 10 campus selections.

I liked the greenery of the campus very much. It is lush green campus.
I liked the faculty of my college very much. They are very supportive.

Dislikes

I disliked that due to state reservation many Bengali people are here who speak only Bengali.

Placement Experience:

Placement of our college is very good. We have average package of 12 lakh per annum. Companies like Microsoft, Google, TCS Flipkart and many more visit here and recruit students Heighest package of our college is 55 lakh and average is 12 lakhs. Around 80 percent students get placed here.

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.

Placements:

Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.

Infrastructure:

All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.

Faculty:

The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.

The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
