I get swami vivekananda merit cum scholarship which is very helpful for me.
Placements the placement for computer science and technology department is really appreciable and since it is a college of national importance, some really highy package giving companies come for placements and take a good handful number of student.
Campus is very green and lovely. you would surely love the experience.

Dislikes

The hostel facility is horrible in our college we don't have many single seater rooms there were very limited which intern causes disputes among students and the food facility was also not good it's really very hard
Actually hostel facilities is not good in indian institute of enginnering science and technology the maintainnace is poor and my college is in west bengal, shibpur and for me i dont like bengal food as i am from andhra pradesh.
The hostels are a bit bad in condition. one has to face some problems regarding stay.

Brief Idea of IIEST,Shibpur

Likes

The focus on amenities and active clubs and groups.
Supportive environment regarding studies.
Various opportunities to learn social and management skills.

Dislikes

Some infrastructures are very old and need to be maintained.
Very tough to communicate with administration directly.

Placement Experience:

The students are eligible for placements from the 7th Semester, while students can opt for internships by the end of the 4th Semester. The top companies that make recruitments for Electrical Engineering Courses are Texas Instruments and TCS. Again for the Electrical Engineering Course on average 80 percent of students get placed. I have planned to get placed in the 7th semester so that after getting the degree I can settle for my job.

IIEST- an abode of your dream life

Likes

Campus is very green and lovely. You would surely love the experience.
Nightouts can also be interesting and enjoyable with friends.
Old and vintage buildings of the campus will also steal your eyes.

Dislikes

Building are quite old and not maintained we'll.
Strict attendance policy sometimes makes your day too much hectic

Placement Experience:

Placements start usually from 3rd year. We'll and reputed companies like Google and Microsoft also visit the college and give placement to a good number of students. You can expect a good placement from this college.

professors are highly qualified and helpful

Placement Experience:

after the 6th or 7th-semester students are eligible for campus placement many top companies like Microsoft, Amazon, texas instruments etc visited and Mede offer to 5 to 10 students and many companies like IBM Accenture Atlassian etc visited made many offers to almost 82 per cent of students get placed after taking my degree my plan is to go for placement or government job in psus or mtech from iits

A review on IIEST, Shibpur

Likes

Our insititute has a very old and gold legacy.
Campus life is very good and interesting.
Proffessors are very co-operative and teach very well.

Dislikes

Hostels need to be renovated and and each room should accomodate only two students.
Free Wi-Fi is available but as modern world we need LAN cables for each student.
Gymnasium should be renovated and new equipments should be installed.

Placement Experience:

As I am a first-year student I don't have much idea of the packages offered but know that they are decent. We can sit for placements in our fourth year. I only know that being a reputed institute placements are up to the mark.

Likes

Placement is really nice of this college.
Fest is also good,few changes are needed but is satisfactory
Seniors are also very supportive of this college

Dislikes

Infrastructure is very bad in this college
Hostel facility should be improved and increase the bed capacity
Language barrier as most of the faculty mostly talks in bengali

The placement stats of this college is nice. From the 5th semester, students become eligible for placement. Companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon etc also come in this college, the year average package of college is around 12 lakh per annum and the placement percentage is around 80%

Likes

All kinds of events in india are held here. Various sports Competitions are also held.

Dislikes

There is a gym and and swimming pool in the campus. But they are not open yet.
Campus and Hostels are old compared to other NITs.

Placement Experience:

3rd year student eligible for placement. Last year 156 companies offered jobs. Total of 776 people got jobs, the highest package offered by Microsoft was 45 lpa. The average package is 9 lpa. After completing my degree my plan is to take a job in a IT company.

Ground and sports facilities of the college.
Placements in the college is good and there are many internship apportunities.
College culture id different from other colleges

Dislikes

Language barrier as people speak bengali. But more of them speak hindi also
Outside locality of college is not that good.

Placement Experience:

Placements are actually good in the college, and you will be able to apply in 3rd year. I can tell you about a batch of 2023, the average overall package was about 12lpa of which the highest on campus was 56lpa and off campus was 1.2cr. In electrical around 89% of students who applied got placed and around 5-6 students applied for higher studies.

IIESt shibpur : short overview

Likes

The campus is beautiful the lakes, trees, grass, buildings it gives it a vintage look, you can always roam around in nature
Tons of events are organized every year here, tech or non - tech you will be thrilled to be a part of
The academic is pretty good if you can focus on your studies you will get result.

Dislikes

I didn't like some professors over here, there teaching style is not good.
The management is a bit slow about certain things like gym and other amenities

Placement Experience:

We got a very nice reputation in terms of placement, the civil department, ee, etc it and CS are some of the top departments in terms of placement. You can opt for this college if you want to get placed with a decent package.

A little bit of study between fests.

Sports events Like IPL : IIEST PREMIER LEAGUE
A tennis ball cricket tournament which occurs in the month of January
In this tournament all the Campus students take participate after a auction occurs like IPL and Make it's happen smoothly

Dislikes

But Hostel food you can say some times it's can be irritating

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this examination because I want to go for the UPSC examination. My college in the past is called Civil Engineering College then you can understand the Legacy of this college. There are almost every teacher is graduated from IIT or another foreign College. there is a semester system. one year has 2 semesters and one semester has mid-team and end-term two examinations then 4 exams you have to pass in a year. Exam levers are moderate

Things to know before You come to IIEST Shibpur.

Likes

Great environment in terms of nature and scholar both.
Availability and reachability of the place is very accurate for good companies.
Affordable livelihood possible with good connectivity to all other places.

Dislikes

Very old teaching staff and their Teaching methods.
Old infrastructure does not get to place in the modern era.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placements for 3 years. The companies like TCS, CTS, Infosys, Google, IBM, Excel, Accenture, Lister Technology, Mu Sigma, L&T, and much more visit the campus to hire students. The highest package offered during IIEST Shibpur placements 2022 was INR 45 LPA. Further, 776 offers were made and 1022 companies visited the campus during IIEST Shibpur placements in 2022. The top recruiters of IIEST Shibpur in 2022 included leading companies such as Microsoft, IBM India, and Cognizant. 80-90% of students get placed in their respective departmental companies. I plan to take up a job after the degree and prepare for CAT Examinations and try to get to an IIM.

One of my friends is a final-year student at IIEST Shibpur. According to him, the placement last year has been great. Microsoft IDC (PPO), Mentor Graphics, CESC Ltd (PPO), Tata Steel (PPO), Bentley Systems completed their recruitment process on campus and hired more candidates than they did last year. Companies like Atlassian, Samsung R&D, and PwC are also expected to recruit on campus. A brief discussion about placements and other aspects of the institute are as follows.

Placements:

Pre-final year students got internship offers from various firms like Microsoft R&D, Deutsche Bank, Wells Fargo, and Texas Instruments this year. Other firms which will be having on-campus recruitment will most likely be hiring interns also. Hence, needless to mention that the placement scenario has continued its trend of improvement this year as well.
Students have been hired in companies like Microsoft IDC, Cognizant, Samsung R&D, Infosys, TCS Research and Innovation, Z. S. Associates, etc. from campus placements. Off-campus placements also include Google (Bangalore).
The median salary that has been offered is around 7 LPA and every one of the scholars participating in placements got placed. The placement cell improved and has become more proactive and efficient in training and placement of scholars.

Infrastructure:

All departments, libraries and hostels are Wi-Fi enabled with decent speeds. The Science and Technology Department features a 1Gigabit backbone network.
The rooms and labs are well maintained and have all the specified equipment. The central library is not extremely big but features a good assortment of useful titles. There are smaller departmental libraries also.
The hostels are decent and clean but might be improved. They need indoor game facilities also. A replacement hostel for women has just been built and features a far better review.
There are multiple canteens on Campus serving good quality food at reasonable rates and a CCD stall with significantly cheaper rates than usual.
Other amenities include Gymnasium, Sports fields, Court and Infirmary.

Faculty:

The college consists of highly qualified and knowledgeable teachers. They clear the doubts if consulted. Most teachers teach using both chalkboard and multimedia aids.
There are multiple teachers and other lab assistants to guide the students during the lab classes.
The course curriculum is aligned with most other national institutions and contains the essential topics necessary for the course.

The campus is lush green and located on the bank of the river Ganges. Right beside the institute is Botanical Gardens. Many events take place at the institute all year around. There are annual Techno-Management fest Instruo, Annual Cultural fests Rebecca and Anuranan, and departmental fests. Besides that, there are also sports events. Meritorious students can avail scholarships sponsored by the Alumni Association.
