This is a National Institute of Technology and 40 Years old Institute. Very Experienced Profs and almost 100 Percent Placements of all eligible students with Highest CTC of 45 Lakhs and Average CTC of 12 Lakhs. Prestigious Organization like Samsung, Microsoft, De-Shaw, J P Morgan, Reliance, etc. visit for Campus Interview. All type of Sports facilities, huge and Green Campus, various clubs including Robotics, Drama, Art and Craft, Various Fests and Functions will surely make the most memorable time of your life.

Remarks:

First factor would be that it is a NIT, which means it has national importance and is one of the top NITs in India. Second factor is that it is near my home town Vadodara and would be easy for me to travel to and fro. It is situated in most developed area of the city and is easily accessible.

Svnit is great

Remarks:

College ranking and placements and it's best college in my area and my many friends are in this college. College facilities are highly advanced. College mission is "To be a globally accepted centre of excellence in technical education catalyzing absorption, innovation, diffusion and transfer of high technologies resulting in enhanced quality for all the stake holders".

I like pure science. I tried for iiser by writing their exam but did not qualify. Then I chose this college. I searched it up on Google found it was close to the city and resources are available close by.

Remarks:

Top tier college and also the fact that it was ranked 2nd overall in the NIRF rankings in the year 2017. Quality of life was good and I also had a few seniors from school already studying there which further made me want to join here. The campus is situated in the heart of town and everything is really accessible and at arms length. The student life offered here was like no other and it is a very safe city in comparison to others.

Remarks:

1. NIT, Surat is a reputed government college with NIRF 2017 rank 8 (NIT). 2. The college is located in posh area with almost all the facilities nearby:- Airport (15 mins), Railway Station (20 mins), Restaurants, Cinemas, Shopping Malls, Parks, Dumas Beach (25 min) and all kind of shops (hardware, electronics, electrical, stationary) 3. Mother Teresa Bhavan (Girls Hostel) have single room system. 4. There is a SBI Branch of SVNIT. 5. Electrical Engineering is a core subject and has comparatively more government seats than non core branches.

Svnit college is well established. It has good teaching facilities along with a great campus.Here in the college one can go in any field he loves to. There are many intracollege groups which nourishes the extra curricular carrier odlf a student. Over all its a dream place to go to.

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
