It is among the top 10 NIT's in india and the placements are good.also the infrastructure is appreciable. The place where it is situated is very accessible in terms of transportation. The faculty are very experienced.

Remarks:

The college is among the top NITs with most experienced faculty and highest number of placements and it is located in a very developed city with a very friendly weather throughout the year. I wanted to do civil engineering because i was fond of skyscrapers since childhood. I got curious to see different monuments in the world their structure, these things inspired me to took civil engineering.

SVNIT

Remarks:

The college SVNIT situated in Surat is a very good and reputed college and every engineering aspirant should give his best in JEE Mains exam since now 12th % are not counted for admission and you will need a good JEE Mains score to get in this college.

A Students life IN Svnit

Remarks:

This college is beautiful for morning walks and rides. Its huge campus spread in 250 acres but not wisely used, they are planning to make it better but let's see what happens. Events budget can get better to make it a grand success

A look at NIT Surat

Remarks:

There are lots of positive as well as negative remarks for the college but as far as positive at considered the college is a very green college and this stays atleast 2 degree cooler than outside. Also since it's a government college everything is cheap here.

Remarks:

Positive thing about college is its infrastructure. All the labs of college are well equipped. Hostel facilities are one of the best among the other NIT's. Sport ground is good here. Bad thing in my opinion is the course curriculum. Its not updated.

The best thing about Svnit is that it is in the centre of surat city so everything is easily accessible like malls and restaurants and you get the best food outside campus. Due to continuous corruption and scandals college is dropping in rankings.

There are some positive points are that there is not ragging done to freshers and there is no long distance in hostel and College. There are some negative points are that there is big campus so that there some problem to go out of College.

My review of SVNIT is a mixed one. It is a good choice in almost every aspect other than sports.

For sports enthusiasts, SVNIT is not the right choice. The condition of sports facilities at our college is not good. The sports grounds are not in a good shape. The cricket/football ground becomes a grassland from July to December.

The indoor badminton courts, which are two in number, are immensely insufficient to cater to around 4000 students. Each one has to wait a long time for their turn, and is given around 10 minutes to play the sport. Such a huge number of students can not access the badminton courts for sufficient durations. MMNCT is the best sports event of the year. It is an inter-year cricket tournament that takes place at night. The gym is well designed and has all the modern equipment.

Many classes are boring. But a lot of the professors, especially in the Civil department, teach really well. The marking system is very transparent, and after 15-30 days post the exams, answer sheets are made available for students to have a look. The classrooms are also very school-like in appearance. The rules are lenient, and most teachers are satisfied with a 60% student attendance.

The location is quite good, and malls, theaters, etc. are easily accessible. The campus is located in a posh area of Surat. Places like Mumbai, Daman, etc. are easily accessible for getaways. The placements are top notch, the clubs are plenty and quite decent. The mess food is quite good as well.

Unless you are very serious about getting the best sports facilities, SVNIT is a good college. But for sports facilities, I would recommend you try for MNIT Jaipur.
